(Exeter – Firing Range - COO, LT Janice Hammerfield - 0904)

“Well with these aging eyes I can’t see if you hit it, but sure as eggs are eggs you scared the bugger.” He smiled somewhat whimsically.



Janice looked up from her side as she slotted in the next cell, “Oh Commander I didn’t hear anyone come in.” Standing up off the ground she held the rifle pointed down to the ground, “Don’t worry those eggs down there are sufficiently scrambled,”



With a gentle chuckle, Alex shook his head “Never was the type for this type of thing. Appreciate the skill of those such as yourself of course.” Alex said, his eyes still downrange, “Had a roommate back at the Academy, years ago obviously, was on the Academy team. Odd fella, pleasant enough.”



“Gotta try find the time to keep it sharp just like anything else? Right now this is more relaxing than a trip to the holodeck,” she nodded then acknowledged the second part of what he had said as the coffee aroma started to fill the room, “Musta been a shot if he made it on the academy,”

“Never tried out for them sir,” she replied cast her mind back to being asked to try out for the team by one of its junior members, “The competitive scence never interested me in it I was content enough not having the additional pressure of having to make those shots. It’s something easier to do relaxed... or when you have that surge of adrenaline.  At least that’s what I find works,”
