Mission: Space Was Cool Before It Mattered
Day: 2
Stardate: 2446.04.26
(USS Pete Mitchell - Main Shuttle Bay - MXO, Lt. Major Sean Masters - 0803)
Sean had worked his way to the shuttle bay. He had given the order to stage
equipment on the assigned vehicles. He had just been told by the Mitchell
First Officer that the Exeter was now well within reach of long range
sensors, they were less than an hour out.
He adjusted his assault pack as he walked up the gangway to the drop ship.
As his foot left the shuttle bay deck his combadge chirped. He tapped it,
accepting the incoming message.
=^= Good morning Lieutenant Major Masters, this is Lieutenant Colonel
Na’Rel. Upon your arrival on the Exeter you and the marine detachment are
ordered to report to the main shuttle bay. All your supplies, and cargo
will be sent there until further assignment of their quarters and access to
the Exeter's amenities is earned. =^=
~Great singing for our supper.~
"Everything ready to go, Roberts?" Sean asked as he stepped sideways
through the small opening between the pilot compartment and the passenger
compartment of their drop ship.
(Reply Roberts)
"Just got a message from our new CO." Sean said, "Apparently we get to earn
our birthing."
(Reply Roberts)
"I don't know, he didn't specify." Sean said then grinned, "should be fun."
(Reply Roberts)
"No change to arrival time, still scheduled for 0900, as soon as the
Mitchell allows us to, I want our birds in the air, you in the six o'clock
position, feel me?" Masters asked for feedback for his orders.
(Reply Roberts)
"I'll keep you apprised." Sean said before making his way back to the
passenger compartment. This time he started looking at the jump seats,
where the Marines should have their gear stored, some were absent.
Realizing some were separate but a rough estimate showed that about 1/3rd
were not where they should be.
He tapped his combadge, "Masters to the Marine Detachment." He said opening
the channel, "Marines, I know I left things a little vague, I did that on
purpose, to see what you all would do with your own time." Sean said
evenly, "I'm going to remove the ambiguity, we are due to arrive at our
destination at 0900. I know that seems like a lot of time, but it isn't. I
want everyone ready to board their assigned conveyance at 0830. I don't
need to tell you that we are going to meet our new CO. I want things going
off without a hitch. Masters out."
(Reply Marines, IYW)

"There will always be those who mean to do us harm. To stop them, we risk
awakening the same evil within ourselves. Our first instinct is to seek
revenge when those we love are taken from us, but that's not who we are." -
