"That is very true, while the thought of miracles is always pleasant and reassuring, we should always strive to ascertain more documentable reasons for such things." Klaz struck his chin.

"Have you performed Urinalysis sequences on them? Or perhaps even a hair tissue mineral analysis?" Klaz asked.

“We’ve done urinalysis, you can check the charts.” Heinrich said, taking a mental note to do a hair tissue mineral analysis. Any datapoint might be helpful to solve this mystery.

Klaz activated his terminal and looked at their charts.

"The urinalysis screenings collected by the reception units on their toilets seem to show no signs of anything except…"

“Except...?”

"David Powell seems to be in the early stages of fatty liver disease. We should have that cleared up in a few hours." Klaz remarked. "But nothing to show signs of these men ever being exposed to radiation. In fact they have virtually zero levels of radiation in their bodies. The yearly average for humanoids based on a 2444 study is 620 mrem, 0.2 microsieverts per hour. These patients have readings equivalent to 0.018 per hour.”

“See what I mean? But we did scans of the station before going in. They were surrounded by the radiation of a 20th century earth nuclear meltdown while their own readings would suggest they are slightly radiation resistant.”

“You’ve been a doctor longer than I’ve been alive. Have you ever seen anything like this?”

(Reply Vulon)

“I don’t know how long I can keep them in observation before they get agitated. But I also can’t let them go until we can figure out what is going on.”
