(Mining Station - CMO Lt. SG Heinrich Kruze - 1522)

=/\=Miller to Dr.Kruze, it should be safe for you and Lieutenant Hammerfield to move the miners, try no to have them touch any radiated surfaces with exposed flesh.=/\= Ethan said over the Comms.

“Thank you Lieutenant.” Heinrich said, grateful for a chance to walk in and see the miracle. “But I don’t think irradiated surfaces will be an issue, they have their mining suits on."

=/\= Oh they have their own EV suits? That's awesome. It should only take me a few minutes to reach the maintenance bay. I'll see you there. Miller out. =/\=

“See you soon,” Heinrich said. When he finished talking to Ethan, Janice looked back to him.

“We good to go?”

Heinrich nodded, “Ready when you are.”

Janice typed some commands into the panel, depressurizing the room. She had to crank an emergency lever but before long the door was opened, revealing eight relieved miners.

“Take point,” she said. Heinrich held out his hands and motioned out of the room. “Follow me and we’ll get you out of here.” The miners shuffled out of the room single file and stood near Heinrich, who was still amazed at their good health.

“Is that everyone?” He asked. The last miner to exit, a short terran woman, shouted, “Yep! All ready to go!”

“Good.” He said, “Before we head out I need to give you all a brief exam, if I may.” He took out his tricorder and scanned each of the miners one by one. Their vitals were solid. No sign of radiation sickness. Only slight dehydration and malnourishment. And one person with a blood sugar issue. They had told the truth, they were fine. He was flabbergasted.

“Are we ready to go doc?” One of the miners asked impatiently.

“Uh, yeah.” He turned to Janice, “Are we good to go?”

(Reply Janice)

“Then let’s be on our way. Lieutenant, if you would be so kind to lead. I have a notoriously bad sense of direction.”

(Reply Janice)

As they were walking through the station back to the maintenance bay Heinrich expressed his shock to Janice, “It’s as they said, I can’t believe it. It really is a miracle.”

(Reply Janice)

The walk to the maintenance bay was quick and easy enough that Heinrich felt stupid having to ask Janice to lead the way. Perhaps his sense of direction was improving. By the time they had made it Ethan was already there waiting.

“We're here with the miracle miners.” Heinrich said to the cheers of some of the miners.

(Reply Ethan)
