Mission: Space was cool before it mattered

Day: 1

Stardate: 2446.04.25

(Mining Station - ACEO Lieutenant Ethan Miller-1520)

Ethan had made his way into a rather larger junction where several parts of
the life support systems were present, hydroponics, breathable air,
internal pressure stabilization modules, just to name a few.

Even though his primary focus was the ventilation system he couldn't help
but notice an odd configuration of the hydroponics systems. It's set up
seemed to have several key components established in the wrong places.
Being that hydroponics was the primary place he spent most of his time on
the Exeter, he decided to take a water sample from the sample collection
port on the system.

Tucking the water sample away within a secure pocket on his EV suit. He
proceeded towards the problem area of the ventilation system.

He quickly realized that a redirection plate within the ventilation system
was stuck in position, thus blocking the proper ventilation of the air
within the facility. Most mining facilities had Fail-safes built in to deal
with the build up of potentially harmful radiation that could make its way
into an air flow system.

Ethan shifted the plate back into its proper position and as he did so a
senor pressure system activated the large fans within the ventilation
system to activate, beginning the venting process.

Ethan looked at the computer on his left arm.

" Miller to Hammerfield, I fixed the cause of the issue. Any radiated games
should be cleared in a few minutes."

" When the levels are good, proceed with the plan, get to the maintenance
bay. I'll meet you there, Miller out " Ethan said.

With the ventilation plate in its proper position Ethan began a quick trace
of the system responsible for remote access to the plate itself. After
identifying the receiver for the system , he linked his suits computer to
it and ran a diagnostic.

~ Someone moved the plate , then removed the command ability to access any
further operation? That makes no sense.~ Ethan thought to himself.

He re-established primary control of the receiver to the main computer.

" Miller to Dr.Kruze, it should be safe for you and Lieutenant Hammerfield
to move the miners , try no to have them touch any radiated surfaces with
exposed flesh. " Ethan said over the Comms.

( reply Kruze)

" Oh they have their own EV suits ? That's awesome. It should only take me
a few minutes to reach the maintenance bay. I'll see you there. Miller
out."
