Mission: Andromeda's Chain

Day: 1

Stardate: 2446.01.03

(USS Exeter – Astrometrics - CSO Lt Erin Cortez – 0447)

“That’s why I had you lock out internal sensors. If it holds, they’ll have
to figure out some other way to track us. My attempt to encrypt the main
computer was mostly a distraction for you to be able to do the work
unabated.”

Erin nodded, "A rouse per se?"

“Don’t get me wrong, having them not to be able to use any system in
conjunction with each other would effectively disable the ship while we
work on taking it back. They’d be able to see where we are, just not go to
warp because warp drive, sensors and navigational deflectors have to work
in unison with many more calculations per second than most organic species
could manage. They could bank several PADDs and tricorders together and get
enough processing power to do it. That would take time.”

Taking a deep breath as they climbed, Erin replied, "Just a bit. And I
doubt that they would have the time to do it. Especially if they are bent
on completely taking the ship."

“The mutineers being blind was much more important for what I plan to do.”
Keira said mantling the top of the ladder. She looked around the junction
they were in was large enough that they didn’t have to crawl. “Deck 5,
almost there.”

"To borrow a phrase from the Commander, thank the prophets for that. I
don’t mind physical exertion but, time and a place."

“Just through here, and a short walk down the corridor, provided we don’t
run into anybody.” Keira said.

"And, if we do?" Erin said as they stopped at the junction.

Closing her eyes for a second, Erin opened them and looked at her friend,
"Don't get me wrong, I've seen violence…" ~more than you will probably
know~ She thought to herself as she continued, "It's just.. these are our
crewmates, our friends…"

"Sorry, this is just… I'm worried, Keira. I think we need to connect with
Commander Bracken but what if she is.. like the others?"

(Reply Merek)

"We need a way to make sure that she, and any others, are… well not with
the dark side to coin an old terrain phrase."

(Reply Merek)

"Let's just get to your place and go from there. If we stay in one place
too long, we run the risk of being discovered. "
