Mission: Andromeda's Chain

Day: 1

Stardate: 2446.01.03

(Runabout Muskogee - CTO/2O Lieutenant Commander Ravok - 0409)

Ravok sat there with his arms folded and listened to Ensign Jori seemingly
vent and her a lot off her chest.

"You called me to meet with Ashlyn Williams like you knew me, but from my
perspective, that was the first time we met. Now we're in a runabout,
responding to a distress signal, but I don't know what's happening. Where
are we? What planet are we going to? Why is there a risk we can't get back?
I understand I don't always need to know the details, and I accept that's
part of serving in Starfleet." She paused. With a look that displayed
thoughts of going too far with a superior officer.

"Sir, is there anything you can tell me? I'd really like to know. I need to
know."

Ravok chuckled slightly and shook his head.

" Wow, that's a lot to take in all at once, but thanks for sharing. " He
took a deep breath.

" When I woke up in Toronto, I woke up as a human myself. Flat ears, red
blood, low eyebrows , the works. To top it all off I woke up in bed with my
closest and longest friend. In that reality we were engaged to be married
and from the looks of things we had an amazing and carefree life full of
love and adventure. None of it was real of course. Next thing I know I'm on
trial by this Quella person , then I wake up back on the Exeter to a red
alert situation and my friend, my brother, my captain is gone. Nowhere to
be found and his grieving wife is left all alone. I couldn't bring myself
to look at her. Ash is a special person in alot of our lives. When I called
you it was only because your name was near the top of the roster, it wasn't
a personal decision it was a choice made out of efficiency. Ensign T’Kel
and yourself were about to begin conducting wellness checks of the
civilians and to me she's one of the most important civilians on the ship.
I asked you to enter the quarters with me because Ensign T'Kel isn't
exactly known for having compassion, he's too direct, a Vulcan security
officer shouldn't be questioning my friend's wife about her missing
husband. Yeah I guess that part was personal, maybe it was the wrong move.
" Ravok shook his head.

" For what it's worth I am sorry for the awkward situation I placed you in.
You didn't deserve that. " Ravok said apologetically

( reply Jori)

" As for the mission and the where , whens and hows of it all. This is what
I know.

We are in a far off place where none of the stars are where they should be.
Even the vibrational resonance of the natural audio frequencies don't
match up to anything we know of.

The planet we are going to appears from sensor readings to be a planet that
barely meets the requirements for being considered an M Class world. The
chance of us not returning is part of the risk that we all signed up for,
but I swear on everything that I am I will try my hardest to make sure we
all get back in one piece. " Ravok explained.

( reply Jori)

" You know the funny thing is I didn't think or even imagine this is where
I would be at this point in my life. I'm almost 26, by Romulan standards
that makes me still a child. Yet I've been trusted with more lives than I
care to count , why me ? And how in the hell did it all happen so fast ? "
He stopped and smiled, finding himself rambling as well.

" I'm sorry Ensign it seems like I have questions of my own." He said,
nodding his head and looking off at nothing in particular.

( reply Jori)
