(USS Exeter – Main Engineering - Ensign Rylee Page – 0440)



Rylee's eyes grew wide at the screen playing out infront of her. The man
she had fallen in love with, the man she could see herself spending her
life with was different. First, he spoke in a manner she was not familiar
with him doing and then there was the weapon.

As long as she had known him, he did not like weapons or violence. Closing
her eyes for a moment, she thought back to the events of the last hour.
Having made it back to her quarters, things had happened fast.

She heard shots fired, people dropping and some fighting. As the few who
had appeared unchanged and not talking about some empress had gathered
together, they had talked about what had happened and how to retake the
ship safely. None of them had wanted to hurt their friends.



As they had made their way to one of the jeffries tubes, things had gone to
hell in a handbasket. A group of the changed had rounded the corner and
begun firing on them. Ten had dropped to the floor as she stood firing
back.

Realising that her situation was not good, she had handed over her phaser
and allowed her stood be taken, with a phaser rifle held to the small of
her back.

Opening her eyes again, Rylee bit her lip. Truth be told, she was terrified
but she knew that she had to do something. Janice had looked at her for
help but she couldn't have done anything to help. Until now.

" As a matter of fact Lieutenant Hammerfield,  you have 10 seconds to start
those fires. " Zot said as he grabbed the cowering engineer and unholstered
his phaser, pressing it into the engineers side.



" Set to Kill…10...9…"

Looking at Janice, she took a breath and stepped a little forward, feeling
the rifle in her back and said, "Zot?"

(Reply Zot)

"What's going on? "

(Reply Zot)

"Help me to understand. I just saw 10 people shot, I have a damn phaser
rifle in my back and this guy has threatened to kill me at least five times
so TELL ME WHAT IS GOING ON!"
