Day: 1

Stardate: 2446.01.03

(USS Exeter – Main Engineering - ACEO Lieutenant Janice Hammerfield – 0438)

"If you would take a moment to stop your futile attempts at locking out primary control of Engineering systems and look around, you will see that many members of the Engineering department stand with us. You are now few among many, as for the ones no longer standing they are merely stunned. Their safety is only temporary though and is completely reliant upon your compliance Lieutenant Hammerfield Janice."

Janice continued typing, “You know something – I don’t really respond well to threats. I was told it was something to do with a challenge to authority or something like that. So if you want to keep that way up by all means go for it,” She keep scrolling through systems that weren’t completely locked down nabbing a few minor systems along the way. Fortunately for her the back up sensors were still being held in the computer core banks from the wipe. Accessing the backups she began to purge the primary core and restore them back into the diagnostic cycle she fixed earlier. It would take a bit of time and hopefully no one would notice a system being restored as peculiar. She was hoping it would be enough to give her access to the internal sensors and scramble them so anyone with their senses still going were able to move without being tracked. She needed time.

" I see Lieutenant, Well if you would like to test the accuracy of my claims you are welcome to grab one of those phasers and fire it. If you terminate my biological existence innocent people will suffer in ways that would make you question everything you've ever experienced. If you simply stun me the result will be the same. As you are few among many, I am simply one of many. There is no need for anyone to suffer more than they already have. Your actions here could cause repercussions around the ship. " Zot warned, holding his hands , palms facing up.

“If you were interested in not hurting anyone you wouldn’t have came in here guns blazing and trying to coerce me out of here by then again threatening the very safety of the people here,” she glanced back seeing the room filled with people looking at her, “How about this instead. You all leave and give everyone their bodies back before I blow the ship into itty bitty pieces? I hear being atomized is all the rage.” She was bluffing – from the station she was at and the level of access to the systems required there was no way she could.

(reply Zot)

“You think I wont?” she tapped a few more buttons on the console before she turned round facing Zot, “I’d rather end this now than let you play out what you have planned. To hell with you and your Empress. I bow to no one!” Janice glanced over Zot’s shoulder and seen Ryl walk in quietly in the background.

Janice took the time to move back to the console and looked quickly at what she had access to in engineering and looked fire suppression system. Maybe it would be enough to cover her trying to get out of there through a tube but it would need to be accessed from another console. Ryl might be able to from one of the other panels if she was on the same page but Janice was low on options. She had to work her words into her conversation to try and let her know. Taking a few deep breaths she turned round with her back to the console holding one finger over the button to release the force field around her, “You know Zot you’re right. I don’t have the power behind this force field to destroy the ship. But I can start a lot of fires. Fires that will take you a long time to put out. How will your empress feel about you then? Angry? Maybe once im done you’d be left on your own with no way out. Maybe you should just make a run for it now while you have the chance?”

(reply Zot, Ryl)

“Seems to me that she would show you as much mercy as me and I don’t think that’s high on the scale of one to ten,” she blabbed buying more time, “Now if you all stand down – place your weapons on the ground ill be more than happy to accept your surrender. At which point we can have a civilised cup of tea and I can then kick you out of an airlock. How about that? I think that’s a much better option.” With her free hand she pulled an engineering kit over to her and opened it taking out a multi tool and a plasma torch. The multitool slid into her side pocket and she maintained a firm grasp on the torch.
