Mission: Andromeda's Chain
Day: 1
Stardate: 2446.01.03
(USS Exeter – Bridge - aCO Cmdr Ailynn Bracken – 0415)
Ailynn pinched the bridge of her nose as numerous things settled in her
mind. The away missions were underway, dimly, Ailynn wondered if this is
what it had been like for Trip all those times he’d sent her out,
potentially to her death, the weight of responsibility weighed heavy.
She knew that she’d thought it a lot recently but once more the quote from
Henry IV came to her mind once more, ~uneasy like the head…~ She knew that
all who say in this seat bore that same weight of feeling, and she herself
had avoided it for as long as she could, however now, she felt herself
expanding almost, getting a feel for things, she’d managed to shift the
weight of expectation to a position that she could carry.
Sure, she still had worries, but she could deal with those. Gabe’s medical
report had come to her to, and it had made for some interesting reading,
Ailynn had recognised certain base components that had been present in the
scan, and that had in itself nudged something else that had troubled her.
~Awaken Ailynn, Awaken.~
One thing still had neither been denied nor confirmed and that was
bothering her. With a gentle tilt of the head and a smile at her number
one, she spoke gently. “Commander, would you mind going down to
Astrometrics and chasing up Lieutenant Cortez, I need her final data on her
project. Follow her protocol as to information security to the letter.”

“Thank you Kiera. It’s appreciated.” she said with a gentle smile and a nod
of dismissal, not Kiera would feel it necessary. Ailynn then, having
remembered what it was that had been annoying her, reset her chairs console
to her own unusual setting, certain things were hotkeyed. She tapped the
few strokes that would display the file that she needed, then began
reading, her mind, absorbing all, her near eidetic memory consuming all the
knowledge that flashed past on the small screen.
(Reply Kiera, any)
