“Well,” Keira paused. “we realized we were out of booze and wanted to get
some for later tonight as it’s my last night before we begin filming.”
“Sarah said that she knew a place with more affordable prices…” Keira
rambled.
Drake just listened and nodded. ~Celebs and their booze.~
“Right, sorry.” Keira said. “We went in and we were looking through the
selection. I had suggested something that Sarah rejected calling it rotgut.
While she was looking for a more suitable choice I noticed someone
approaching from the front.”
"What did he look like?" Drake asked looking at the picture of the suspect
he had in a drawer out of sight of Keira.
“Tallish, taller than us anyway. Pale complexion.” Keira started.
"Would you say he was caucasian?"
“Definitely Caucasian. He wore dark clothes and he was carrying a green gym
bag over his right shoulder,” she elaborated. “Before he entered he pulled
a balaclava over his face, presumably to not easily be identified. The
first thing he did was pull a gun out and shot the camera, then he cycled
the next round into his weapon. I pulled Sarah between the aisles to keep
her and me from being seen.”
"Then what happened." Drake said taking notes.
“He threw his bag at the cashier and told her to fill it, spouting some
colorful metaphors. She did as he asked then he said to open the safe. When
she told him she couldn’t that she didn’t know the combination, he called
her a liar and shot the Juul display above the counter. Then he said
something about using the key around her neck that the safe had a
mechanical back up.”
"Was that when you intervened."
“Yes, it was then that I moved toward the counter. Sarah tried to stop me.”
Keira said.
“Well, babe. That was crazy. How was I supposed to know you were like a
freaking superhero?” Sarah said sheepishly.
Drake just nodded.
“The stunt work.” Keira began. ~Elaborate, you read up this morning, use
it.~ “With the last season we didn’t know exactly who was going to face
the cult leader, the writers hadn’t written it until later in the season.
So they prepared for most of the main cast, certainly most of the
department heads to be able to do it. Well, all but Trip. He was the heavy
favorite early on because of Tristan’s background in professional
wrestling, so he didn’t need to do any prep beyond what he was already
doing. Ire’s actor got to use that training in the season finale, I hadn’t
until today.”
"I see." he replied.
“I advanced then because I remember the first shot he had to cycle the
weapon before he could fire the next shot, he hadn’t done that yet because
he was distracted by the cashier when she employed a ruse to save her job.”
"And then you took him out."
“Exactly.” Keira confirmed. “I charged forward and smashed him into the
counter to knock the wind out of him, and catch him off guard, you don’t
feel like moving when you get the wind knocked out of you. Then I pulled on
his arm to try and cause enough pain to get him to drop the weapon and it
worked. Then I used what was going to be a flashy finisher for the cult
leader. I think it was a judo or aikido move…. I’m not sure.” ~True enough,
the move is Star Fleet hand to hand training which was derived from Judo,
Aikido, Jiu Jitsu…~
"So you used 'stunt work' to take him down. Then what?"
“I picked up the gun and cycled it myself. I didn’t plan on shooting him,
but I figured the threat of it would keep him from causing any more
trouble.” Keira answered.
"Alright, thank you." Drake said as he finished writing down his notes.
(reply Keira)
"There is one more matter we need to discuss."
(reply Keira)
"As you know the standard at trial is proven guilty beyond a reasonable
doubt. I'll spare you the boring details of what that means, but it means
that anything the defense could introduce that might cause doubt that the
events are what they are. Within the realm of logic and reason."
(reply Keira iyw)
"Now your little friend and his attorney are claiming that he was a plant,
paid by you, to be there, to fake rob the store. That you'd stop him, but
he'd get away in time, so he wouldn't get caught, then you were supposed to
stay for pictures and convince the owners not to press charges. But instead
you bolted. So the next question is, is there any truth to what he is
saying? Did you pay him to rob the store just to get publicity? Not saying
what he is saying is true, but we do need a sworn statement."
