Mission: Lights, Camera….Action?

Day: 1

Stardate: 2446.01.01/2025.06.30

(Toronto, Canada - PinewoodStudios – Sickbay set - Philip Moon (Ewan McDonald) - 1233)

Philip looked over the parts of the scriptthat he was in scanning the script he was holding in his hand. He had a fewspeaking parts which was nice but was in the background of most of the sickbay scenes.He knew the stage security and they would let him in early before filming sothat he could run through his moved. He knew that he was not the only one whodid that and had bumped into a few of them now and again over the last season.  He looked at directions and where he would be standing.He stepped through the positions as he moved across the floor and smiled to himself.

“Okay so crewman A will be on biobed one.”

He over to the biobed as he placedthe script onto it. He flicked through the pages again until he found the part hewas looking for. 

“The doctor is going to do his bitand then I reply with yes Doctor.”

He grinned to himself.

“No Oscar for me this season…..okayso I scan crewman A and tell the Doctor that…he has a pneumothorax on the rightside. His lung has collapsed, and his oxygen saturation is dropping. As well asinternal bleeding from his liver and spleen.”

He skimmed over the next part. 

“And we then do some techy stuff andhe’s cured. That just seams a bit to easy.”

He picked up his phone and dialled thenumber he scrolled down to. He heard the click and the ringing tone.

“Hay bro how are you doing?”

=^=Hay Philip. How are you doing in TVland=^=

“I have a question for you. If you havea moment?”

=^=Sure give me a moment=^=

He heard comments in the backgroundand hoped that it was not too late wherever he was.

=^=I have been told to ask you if youcould get a signed photo of the cast.  Myfriend is a massive Exeter geek and she has been watching all the first season.We have a small projector and have been downloading each episode as theinternet connection is pretty rubbish=^=

“I will see what I can do but I havea work question?”

=^=Of course you do. You never just phonefor a chat=^= 

He could hear the smiled in his brother’svoice.

“I have a crewman who has what iscalled a tenson pneumothorax on the right side and his oxygen lever are droppingdue to his lung being collapsed. As well as spleen and liver damage.”

=^=Okay. I am putting you on speakerphone as the others want to get in on this=^=

There was a pause.

=^=Does it say how the patient wasinjured=^=

He scanned the script. 

“Plasma conduit behind a bulkhead exploded.”

He heard muffled voices at the otherend as the treatment was discussed.

=^=Okay with those types of injuries.You would need to reinflation the lung so a chest drain would be inserted=^=

He nodded to himself.

“Okay.”

=^=For the spleen and liver damage. Youwould have to go in and see what the damage was. Surgery would be the option especiallyif there was active bleeding inside=^=

“Okay that makes sense.”

=^=What dose it say in the script=^=

“It says that we wave some magic instrumentover it and he is cured.”

He heard a soft chuckle over thephone. 

“How are things going out there?”

=^=Things are going okay here. The dryseason is starting so the temperature is reaching the high 30 degree and low40s. So we are now sleeping out side out tents as they are ovens during theday. Work is good not too busy but…=^=

He heard as shout from the other sideof the phone.

“You okay?”

=^=Sorry Philip we have a crash C section.I will call you soon=^=

“Take care bro see hope everything goesokay.”

=^=You to. Hope filming goes okay=^=

He smiled as he heard the phone line clickedclosed and he began gathering up the script and walked off the set.
