NRPG: The Exeter should be back by 2446.02.01 Probably before that. So by
the current Illuminar time stamp the she will be back. But just figured I'd
get this out there that she vanished. Not sure on her exact return date
yet, we got to finish the mission first. Tony consider this the Exeter's
May status Report.
Sorry for the repost, forgot subject.
RPG:
Mission: Gone in a Flash
Day: 1
Stardate: 2446.01.01
(USS Dallas - Observation Lounge - Lexington CO, Captain James Thomas Hart
-0400)
The USS Dallas, of which the Admiral who named her in the early 24th
century was a huge fan of the 20th century novel "The Hunt for Red
October", was an old Miranda Class vessel. Well past her prime and
previously mothballed, she had been taken out of her "Retirement" a few
years prior and converted into a personnel transport. A bus in Space as her
crew called her. She was still a Starfleet vessel, but her main purpose was
transporting crew, personnel. and dignitaries across the Alpha Quadrant.
She still had teeth, but she was not built for combat, not anymore. Her
current Mission had been transporting Starfleet Personnel to Risa for an
Archaeology Conference. Not the best mission for a ship that in the 2400's
had been to Kronos, Romulus, and fought in the Dominion war. But it was a
testament to all her previous crews that she was still able to be of
service.
Jimmy Hart placed the floor of the Observation. He was the new captain of
the USS Lexington, an Exeter Class ship that had yet to launch. He had gone
to the conference as an excuse for some R&R and part of a continuing
education program. Recently promoted, he had commanded the fighter wing on
Mars, replacing Trip Williams, but now was getting a ship of his own. He
had drawn the short straw. Of all the Starfleet captains aboard the Dallas
who had attended the conference, he was the one who was asked to contact
Starfleet command. The Exeter's CO was his cousin after all.
"Computer, being encrypted mission, Priority Alpha, to Vice Admiral Jana
Bell at Starfleet HQ"
[Acknowledged] Chimed the computer.
"Admiral Bell, this is Captain James Hart of the soon to be launched USS
Lexington. I am currently on my way back to Earth from Risa aboard the USS
Dallas. But that's, thats not important. I don't know if you have received
this bit of news yet." Jimmy paused, "I'll cut to the chase, not really
good at these. The Exeter is missing, and we're not sure what happened."
Jimmy walked over and sat down in one of the chairs. "At 0300 hours today,
Stardate 2446.01.01 the Exeter disappeared from the Space Port over Risa. I
wouldn't have believed it, had I not seen it myself. It happened in a
flash. It was as the Dallas was leaving the Spaceport. I was looking out
the port side windows of her lounge, ringing in the New Year. A bright
green light enveloped the Exeter right there in the Spacedock, then after a
bright flash of light, she was gone, vanished without a trace. No one
knows. At first, we questioned the alcohol and snacks being served. But the
ship sensors, and that of the port authority confirmed it. The Exeter was
gone."
Jimmy ran his hands through his hair. "We don't know where she is, or where
she went to, or what happened. It's an anomaly. But she's gone. Gone in a
flash. I just, we just here on the Dallas, wanted to make sure that HQ was
aware. I'm sure that a task force will be formed to look into her
disappearqance, and I'd like to volunteer. Admiral, it was bizarre. She
just vanished. I'm sorry to deliver the bad news sir. If you or anyone at
HQ would like a follow up, please do not hesitate to contact me." Jimmy
stood up. "Computer send message."
[Acknowledged]
Jimmy then walked towards the door. He had no idea what happened. It
was.....beyond expectation. But one thing was sure, before he told his Aunt
Sophie and Uncle Duke that there son had vanished, before he told Sienna
his cousin, he would need one of two things, sleep or a stiff drink. ~Gone
in a flash~
