"Great, just great." Will said grumpily as he hung up the office phone. "Do
I need to hire a babysitter for every single actor on my show."
To say that he was frustrated was an understatement. First the star of his
show was leaking behind the scenes stuff to the press to get a more
favorable contract. Then another of the cast starts acting all weird and
passes out and is sent to the hospital. This after, according to reports,
she told another actor that he was supposed to be dead. And now another one
of his stars breaks up a robbery, then flees the scene as if she was the
one in trouble. It was surreal. Shooting started tomorrow and his cast was
bringing publicity to the filming that he was unsure what to make of. I
mean he hoped that Gen would be ok and was glad Anna was heroic. But why
couldn't Anna have just stayed behind and taken the praise. Why did Gen
tell Nate Christopher he was dead, and why were there reports of one of his
actors being involved in weird stuff with some LARPers.
Some news agency wanted to know about the robbery gone wrong, the Toronto
Police needed to track down Anna for a statement. TMZ was having a field
day, and all he wanted to do was start production in peace. Some days he
wondered if life would have been better that instead of pursuing a career
in writing, producing, and entertainment he would have just had the courage
to go to seminary. Certainly, if he had, he wouldn't be responsible for a
diverse and unique group of people portraying characters on some fantasy
Spaceship.
Taking out his cell phone he wrote a text to Anna.
"Anna this is Will. Toronto PD is thankful you stopped the robbery, but
they are not happy you fled the scene like the building was on fire without
taking a statement. I've got the number for a detective who wants your
statement and Sarah's as part of the evidence against the perp. His number
is 416-555-3755. Detective Drake O'Toole." Will paused as if some thought
popped into his head if by magic, placed there by some unseen puppet
master.. "I don't want you near the studio until you've talked to the
detective. You did a good thing, but I don't want this good press turning
into bad press."
He sent the text and then sat down and sighed. "Should have stayed as the
Executive Producer for Power Rangers. Got to be in New Zealand. The actors
were newcomers so they were happy to have a job.....C'est la vie."
(reply Anna [to the text], any who want to knock on door)
