(USS Exeter - Starlight Lounge – 2O/CEO – Lt. Cmdr. Keira Merek – 2257)

" Well there was this book on Risa, that apparently makes the Kama…..Whoa hey there Lieutenant Sleeford.  "

~and I was wanting to hear about this book…~

“Good evening Lieutenant.” Keira said with a smile. Being interrupted wasn’t ideal, but he could have picked worse, way worse places in the conversation to do so.

“Ok guys two reasons for the gathering, firstly I hear one of our own gathered his house glory and honour at the Bat'leth contest. So congratulations”

“ Aye. Congratulations.” Stan said

Ire nodded. “He really did defeat his enemies in a very Klingon way.”

Ravok nodded his head. " Thank you ,I couldn't have done it without the best Sword bearer and Cha'dich around." Ravok said, putting his arm around Keira.

She gave Ravok a ‘love tap’ to his abdominal muscles, “He really surprised the Klingons, they thought he was just going to roll over and quit," she said beaming, “but my Ravok isn’t built that way.”

“Wouldn’t have done it for anyone else.” Keira said.

“ Secondly you know on this ship it’s easier to get Latinum out of a Frengi then keep any secrets. You’ve probably heard the rumours that Katie and I are getting married. As you three are the people I’ve know the longest and consider me friends, I’d like you to be my groomsmen.”

“ Lang may yer lum reek “ Stan said, Ravok and Keira tilted their heads in confusion. Keira noted the same way Venus had done from time to time when she didn’t understand what people were trying to get her to do.

“Of course.” Ire said.

" Well as long as the beautiful woman beside me doesn't have any objections,  I would be honored to serve in your ceremony." Ravok said, looking at Keira.

~He knows I’ll have no objections. Odin knows I love to see him dress up. He’s asking all for my benefit.~

Keira pretended to think for a short moment, then nodded her head in approval, “I’ll allow it.”

" My Queen has spoken and so shall it be !!!" Ravok said loudly with a laugh.

Ravok raised his glass for an impromptu toast, “cheers.”

Keira raised her own glass and tapped it against Ravok’s creating a short audible resonance.

" Have you selected a day ?" Ravok asked.

“We haven’t settled on a date yet, although sometime in the new year, missions allowing.”

“ Well my friend when yer do decide on a date. Let me know and I rustle up. The best floral displays and bouquet’s you will ever see. It will be my present to yer both.”

" Yeah I think it's a good idea that you wrestle up the flowers Stan, because I don't think Ensign Jamison would be the flower gathering type." Ravok laughed
" No offense Paul, I don't know her personally , but from what I know she was raised by klingons. Therefore she may lean towards a more traditional Klingon union and if that's the case. You better get your rest. " Ravok said jokingly.

“Oh I know she was raised by Klingons, their weddings can be a little energetic, hopefully she’ll be gentle”

“Gentle? Paul, the Klingons have a saying: nughoSmoH ghu'meyvam, which loosely translates into ‘ it doesn’t count unless something breaks’,” Keira teased with a smile.

“The only way to defeat fear is to tell it 'No'." No - we will not take shortcuts on the path to righteousness. No - we will not break the rules that protect us from our basest instincts. No - we will not allow desperation to destroy moral authority.” - Michael Burnham, Star Trek: Discovery
