Mission: Murder on the Exeter Express

Day 04:

(Risa - Medical Complex - Med Officer Ens. Katie Jamison 14:05)

Katie sighed and looked around what had been her office for the last month.
It was time to get back to her family and friends aboard the Exeter. She'd
been thinking about them a lot lately. Missing them, but her time away had
also been productive. She'd gained new skills and a new appreciation for
those who she worked with.

The blip from the communications panel at the desk pulled her out of her
thoughts. She sat down and tapped the panel. She smiled at the face on the
screen.

=/\=Hi sweetheart, how’s things in paradise. =/\=

She shook her head. "Better now. How have you been?"

=/\=The captain has a five day archeology conference on Risa at the end of
the month, we’ve been granted a week R&R, I’ll miss Christmas but get new
year’s in. Will you have free time?=/\=

The excitement in her voice was evident. "Yes I will" she paused then let
out a sigh. "I have missed you." She'd heard skuttlebutt about what had
been  happening aboard the ship. But wanted to hear and see for herself.
"You'll have to fill me in on what's been going on." She paused and let out
a breath. "Over dinner?"

She knew the ship wasn't due for some time, and it would give her time to
pack, decide what to take with her, what to ship home. It was amazing what
she accumulated since arriving on Risa.

“The next month is going to feel like forever. I can’t wait to see you.”
