Sleeford sat at the desk, the engineering department had done a superb job of repairing the office after the explosion, carefully placing his mug of coffee on the table next to the screen he took a bite out of the steak sandwich, he'd grabbed from Nine and Dine on the way down, letting out a contented sigh he wiped his mouth and took a long sip of coffee.

“Computer open a comms link to the medical facility on Risa”

While he waited he glanced at the PADD with that weeks shift rotas, making a couple of changes to cover recent departures, the bleep of the connection going through broke his thought.

“ Risa medical facilities “

“Good day, could you patch me through to the office of Doctor Katie Jamison please”

“Who’s calling please “

Sleeford smiled, receptionists it seemed where the same the galaxy over.

“Chief Operations Officer, USS Exeter. Lieutenant Paul Sleeford “

As the screen faded and the image replaced by a familiar face, Sleeford smile grew larger.

“ Hi sweet heart, how’s things in paradise. “

“The captain has a five day archeology conference on Risa at the end of the month, we’ve been granted a week R&R, I’ll miss Christmas but get new year’s in. Will you have free time?”
