(Risa–Suraya Bay- Beach Front – Ensign - Arbor -Security Analyst – Lieria - 1104)

 

Arborwas standing on a beach, the cliffs rising high behind him and the sea lapping ameter away from his bare feet. He was wearing a louse long sleeve linin shirtwith knee length cargo shorts. He looked up at the sun feeling its heat andradiance shining down on him. He had felt so much better since he had transporteddown. Feeling the fresh air and being on a planet surface with wildlife and naturerather then in the confinement of a star ship. The Exeter’s arboretum helped butthere was nothing that beat being this side of a gravity well.

“YesLieria. I am in the exact spot where you requested.”

Hepaused for a moment as the whine of transporters sounded beside him. He turnedto see Lieria materialise beside him she was wearing a bikini with a sarongaround her waist and holding a towel. He looked at her for a moment as shewobbled and then fall backwards onto the sand.

 

Hestepped over to her, offered his and pulled her into a siting position.

 

“Well,that did not go exactly as I expected.” 

 

“Whatdo you mean.”

 

“Lookslike the epic battle between me and gravity has a defiant winner this time.”

 

Henodded as he watched her sigh.

 

“Ihad wanted to be up right for a little bit longer than a few seconds.”

 

Shesmiled and looked out over the sea.

 

“Butthis is a beautiful place.”

 

Henodded.

 

“Yes,it is. This is not the first time you have been to a beach.”

 

Sherolled her eyes at him.

 

“Yesof course it is. There are beaches on my home world that are just as beautifulas this and I also went to some when I was at the academy. I just would have likedto been able to stand and walk to the sea. That’s why I have been doing the exercises.”

 

“Exercises?”

 

“Yes,I have been building my muscle strength. I know that I will never be as mobileas you heavy worlders……did you not realise?”

 

Helooked at her and shook his head.

 

“Whydo you think I was eating so much food all the time.”

 

“Iassumed that you just enjoyed your food?”

 

Shelaughed.

 

“OwArbor you do have a lot to learn about woman.”

 

“Iam not that bad. I am not some sapling new to the world.”

 

Shepaused for a moment.

 

“Howold are you.”

 

“Byyour measurement of time. I am 140 years old.”

 

“140years….well you don’t look a year over 40.”

 

“Thankyou that’s very kind of you.”

 

Shegrinned.

 

“Ifyou would be a gentleman and help me up. I have not spent all this time workingout to sit on the sand all day. There is a sea with my name on it.”

 

Henodded and helped her to her feet. With a little support he helped her into thewater until it was knee high.

 

“Youdon’t want to go for a swim?”

 

“No,I think I will say on the beach and enjoy the sun.”

 

“Okayyour loss.” 

 

Shepushed off from Arbor and dived in swimming out through the gentle rolling waves.He watched her for a moment with a huge grin on her face before turning andheaded back to the shore. He spotted Ensign Trujillo lying under an umbrella andgave a friendly wave as he sat back onto the sand.
