Confidence. If there was one thing that could be accurately said about
Veronica Kadaya Winters is that she was confident. She knew who she was.
She knew who she wanted to be. She was comfortable in her own skin, with
her own body. Let the haters, hate, let the admirers, admire. She didn’t
care. She had gone through hell to try and find a new life, to change the
future. What she had was better than what she would have had in her own
time. She had a family, she had her mom and dad, she had a future. But she
hadn’t changed her timeline, she just managed to be in a diverging one.
Whether hers diverged from this one, or this one diverged from her, she
didn’t know. She just knew that she was happy. Happy, confident, and free.

She walked to the bar with a skip in her step. Her hair was tied back into
a ponytail. She was had a pair of aviator shades and was wearing a black
bikini. She could have had a small robe, or some shorts, or a tank top on
her. But she didn’t care. She was in paradise and she thought she should
dress the part.

She walked up to the bar with a confident strut and sat down and ordered a
strawberry daiquiri. Sure it was early, she didn’t care. It was paradise
and paradise was supposed to be fun.
