(USS Exeter – Ready Room– MedIntern aEns Lana Wakeman  – 0802)



"Lana sorry for making you get up early, I know you had a traumatic
evening. glad to see you up and about." Trip said as he motioned for the
intern to sit down.



Lana shifted awkwardly in her seat. “Thank you for having me. I mean...I’ve
like...had better nights you know?” She sighed. I...”A tear welled in her
eye. “I don’t get what she...I...like...I didn’t know her, I spilt that
drink on her the once…” Another tear.



"You've endured something no cadet should have to go through, but I hope,
trust, and know, you'll be stronger for it." Trip smiled.



“Are you sure? I mean, it’s easy for you to say...you’ve gone through that,
been tested by that fire and come out unburned, I…” She looked at him.
“I’m...not even at the Academy yet and this. I feel I need to like...talk
about this...but as much as this is friendly...I need…”



 "I have set an appointment with you to meet with Counselor Victoria
Corsica at 1100 hours. Just to get a sense for how you are doing and your
mental state. As I'm the one requesting it, I will have access to his
evaluation, but other than myself and the counselor, it will be private and
privileged. I also want you to set an appointment with Lieutenant Ravok to
give a statement."



“The Lieutenant, I heard rumours, but…” She shook her head, she wasn’t
watching what she was saying to Trip. “I’m sorry Sir.”



"Lana, tell me, are you ok?"



She shook her head. “No...No I’m not…” she sighed and grunted irritably.
“But that’s why we have debriefs and counselling and the like yeah?”

“Captain...if it’s not presumptuous...have you ever been this scared Sir?”
She paused. “I’m so sorry, very presumptuous of me.”
