(USS Exeter – Sickbay– CSO Lt Jg Erin Cortez  – 1258)



Sitting up in the biobed, Erin groaned slightly as she moved. Still in a
bit of pain despite the excellent care she had received, she knew that the
pain that was now plaguing her was a combination of her physical condition
and the pain of the conversations she had to have.



"Erin, how we feeling?"



Looking over to the source of the voice, she smiled weakly as she saw the
Captain walking towards her.



“Sore, excuse the croaky voice.” she replied with a slight cough.



"You gave us quite a scare last night."



“Was not intentional to do that.” She replied weakly.



"Listen, I have set an appointment with you to meet with Counselor Sigmund
Rogers at 1400 hours. If you;'re up to it. It's Just to get a sense for how
you are doing and your mental state. As I'm the one requesting it, I will
have access to his evaluation, but other than myself and the counselor, it
will be private and privileged. I also want you to set an appointment with
Ravok to give a statement. But you can do that whenever you feel up to it."



Erin lowered her head, knowing that that was a conversation that she wasn’t
ready for. Not with him at least. “I understand.”



"I'm glad that you're in better spirits."



“Sir, permission to speak freely?”

“I’ll talk to the counsellor. I’ll give my report to anyone. I …. Just not
Ravok. Not yet.”

Taking a breath, Erin closed her eyes. “It’s my fault, Sir.”

“It’s my fault that Nesha is dead and i just can’t … What i need to say to
him, i need to do that in private. I can’t do it yet…”
