NRPG: Repost allowing for Bracken *not* being transported away. Minor toe stepping, but still in character for Keira. Didn’t want any major rewrites.

RPG:
Mission: Murder on the Exeter Express
Day: 3
Stardate: 2445.12.o3

(USS Exeter – OPS Office – 20/CEO – Lt. Cmdr. Keira Merek – 0010)

"Computer, access the daily logs of Ensign Jorash Bult and compare with the same file."

Keira waited in anticipation as her friend ordered the computer to compare files.

=/\= Voice match, 90%. =/\=

“That’s really close. We can probably zero it in more by matching atmospheric conditions, air speed, distance from recorder, humidity. It’s good enough to pass a voice print authorization.” Keira admitted.

Erin rested her hands on the console. Not really listening to what was being said around her.

After a moment,  she said, "You should go get him."

“I think a security team would be closer….” And with those words, Ire, Cortez and Sleeford were gone consumed by a transporter beam. “Guys? Loki’s trickery what just happened?”

(Reply Bracken)

“On it.” Keira switched up the menus and accessed internal sensors. She keyed in a series of quick commands. Sensors confirmed they were all taken by a site to site transporter beam.

“Transporter beam took them, but to where? Fvadt!” Keira said cursing in her second native tongue.

(Reply Bracken)

She scanned for their combadges, and found their locations quickly. “Holodeck 3?”

“Merek to Cortez.”

[Communication is not available in Holodeck 3]

“Fvadt!”
[Command not recognized, please restate the query.]

“I’ll inform the Captain. Merek to Captain Williams.”

(Reply Trip)

“ Some one just grabbed a large chunk of your staff and transported them to Holodeck 3. Commander Bracken and I are still at OPS. I tried recalling the transport but the system is locked out. Communications to the holodeck is cut out as well.” Keira said urgently.

(Reply Trip)

“There’s something running. I’ll try shutting down the program.” She said, bringing up the holo-grid command tables. She pressed the key to shut down the program with a standard command. It did nothing. She pushed the button trying to deactivate the running program again, but instead of nothing she heard a humming from behind the console quickly grow in volume, then humming became more of a high-pitched whine.

“Overload!” She warned and rolled out of the chair blindingly fast as the console erupted in a shower of blue sparks and lightning.

(Reply Trip, Bracken)

Keira opened her eyes at the sound of her Captain’s voice over the still open channel and The First Officer still in the room but a little ways away. She looked down at herself, her uniform was singed but still largely intact. She seemed to have all her parts.

“I seem to be in one piece.” She said with a groan as she got up.

(Reply Trip, Bracken)

“My guess would be that whomever set up the block left a present for me. Next best chance would be at the maintenance hatch outside of the holodeck, considering what just happened with me trying to open it remotely.” She answered.

(Reply Trip, Bracken)

“I’ll meet you there. Merek out.” Keira said as she made her way to Holodeck Three.

(Reply Trip, any)
