Mission: Murder on the Exeter Express

Day:03

Stardate:2445:12:03

(Exeter- Ops office - FO Cmdr Ailynn Bracke - 00:06)

"Sorry to bring you all here. About 15 minutes ago, Lieutenant Williams,
Ensign Sleeford, Miss Dubois and I were in the observation Lounge. After
Ensign Sleeford left, three people came in. One of them, I am sure matches
the voice that Commander Merek, Ensign Sleeford and myself were trying to
identify."

“Thank you Ensign. Proceed.” Ailynn said, simply. She caught sight of Erin,
still listening to the rest of the room. “You look like I feel Cortez.” She
nudged Erin with her shoulder, and slipped an arm around the other woman’s
shoulder giving her a squeeze.

"The problem is, you have only my word for it. As I was saying to Ensign
Sleeford, we can't do anything without proof. So, Commander Merek, would
you unlock the files again and we can run the analysis. "

“Certainly. Computer, access investigation audio files. Authorization Merek
Sigma-Gamma-Three.”

"Lieutenant Williams was also present and can serve as a backup once I
name the three we need to check."

Ailynn, settling at the back of the room, to allow more space, allowed
things to happen around her. She’d noticed quite early on, that a lot of
times events managed themselves, if they were left to do so. Interference
from her at this point, would be counterproductive. Years ago she’d read a
book, or set of books more correctly, in it, there was a head wizard, who
made a point of actively not listening to anyone. His rationale was, not
without personal agreement Ailynn admitted, was that people tended to feel
the need to take things to the most senior person available. Therefore he’d
stopped listening to anyone. Beyond that, after five minutes or so, if that
person was still trying desperately enough to get his attention, is seemed
there might be a crisis worthy of his attention. Ailynn rested back against
the wall, listening quietly.

"Are we ready, Commander Merek?" Erin asked.

“File is all cued up.” Keira stated.

Sleeford listened as the sound file was played again he shook his head

he still couldn't recall the name., "Okay I can open the comms from

the observation lounge, see if we can identify the clip from the

voices in the room."

Pressing a few commands Sleeford accessed the communications network

and feed the obs lounge to the Ops office, as the three men inside

were chatting he waited for a match if any."

Taking a breath Ailynn spoke. “Earlier this evening, Myself and Ire were
working on...another section of this puzzle, but I don’t hear anything that
ties the two bits together. However...one of those voices, sounds
familiar...In a lift just...yesterday, It wouldn’t have thought anything of
it, but he’d made a point of starting conversation...you know? Like...I
didn’t really want to talk, so I was admittedly giving the grunty yes or no
answers, but he was on it like he wanted me to make conversation. It was
pre second coffee, Erin help me out.”

(Reply Cortez)

“Bult...that was his name.”
