(USS Exeter -Acoustics lab - CFO -Lieutenant – Ire Williams – 2122)

 

“In that case sure,go ahead. I can’t help feeling that there’s something. You’re right. I can hearit too. It’s almost like...I’m not sure, there’s a signature to it that I can’tplace.”

 

“Okay.”

 

He pulled the jackout of a pocket in his uniform and attached it to the console. He then attachedthe other end to the micro data port in the back of his head. He gave Bracken aslight nod as he activated the recording again. It was a strange sensation asit felt like the recording was in his head reverberating around in his skull.He concentrated letting it fill his mind as he began taking it apart. He began splittingthe layers of the sounds of the words trying to see if there some buried inbetween that he could grab.  He thensifted through layers trying to find some deviation as well as a few otherthings but even though he could not find anything there was always a lingeringfeeling of something wrong that was always just out of reach.

 

“Anything?”

 

He winced as the headachebegan stabbed into his head as he opened his eyes.

 

~Ow that is goingto be sore~

 

“Sorry I gotnothing new. There was defiantly something. I just can’t grasp it.”

 

He unplugged thejack and removed the other end from the console before putting it back into hispocket.

 

“Dammit!Anything...something...nothing. This is ridiculous.” 

 

Ire felt Bracken’s exhaustionand frustration. He watched her rub her temples with her hands and waited for amoment for the anger to pass.

 

“Ailynn why don’twe have a quick brake. We have both been up far too long today. Let’s grab somecoffee, have a pause and come back to it.”
