(USS Exeter – Personal Quarters – Ensign Rylee Page - 2059)


After finishing her double shift, Rylee sat on her sofa in her quarters,
yawned and sighed. Now dressed in a vest top and short pyjama bottoms, she
closed her eyes for a moment and smiled as the memory of the picnic that
her and Zot had enjoyed.

She knew that something was happening between them. Something that she
wanted to explore but, in all truth, she was scared. Nothing like this had
ever happened to her before. Not so fast and so sudden. It was as though,
to her, he had always meant to be in her life and it felt right but it
scared her.

Sitting back on the sofa, she pulled her knees up to her chest and wrapped
her arms around them. ~I wish i knew what to do. Do i tell him? Do i keep
it quiet and wait for him to say something and what if he doesn’t? He is so
different to me, in more than just the physical. Can we truly be together
without…. That?~ she thought to herself as she looked down at the picture
on the table infront of her.

The picture of her parents and her, just before she left to join Starfleet.
Smiling, she knew exactly what they would say to her right now. “I know
mom. I know. I should just say something rather than spend the rest of my
life wondering what if.”
