progenitors." Alistair replied.

" My mother was a teacher. She wanted me to follow the same path as her. "

"And you went and you put on the bloody uniform, that about right?"

"My parents were also educators, though at the university level. They used
to say to me, 'Alistair, a Brightwood has been teaching at the University
of Oxford since the 12th century. A Brightwood has been engaged in the
study and teaching of Philosophy at Exeter College since it was founded in
the 14th century. How dare you break that millenia long tradition.
Apparently Teaching at Exeter college and working on the USS Exeter aren't
the same thing."
