"Just settling in and moving offices," said Roberts. "Captain named me Head Counselor this morning. How about yourself?"

Head counselor. Jori had always been bemused by that term. It was like, what else would be counseled other than what's in a person's head?

"Acting Chief of Security. I guess that means I'm supposed to act like I'm the chief." Jori hoped some humor would ease the tension she was feeling.

Jack apologized for the time they were together in the Starlight. He also said something about a girl named Cinderella losing one of her shoes, but Jori didn't know who that was. Maybe she was one of the new transfers coming on board.

"Listen. Sorry if it seemed forward. I just was trying to go with what I thought was the flow, but I overstepped in any ways or made you feel uncomfortable, I am truly sorry."

Jack offered to shake hands, but before Jori said or did anything, she noticed the contents of the bag he set on the floor.

"You didn't do anything wrong and you didn't misread the way things were going. I'm the one that needs to apologize."

Jori glanced at the chocolate and the marshmelons.

"I'm the one that acted inappropriately," said Jori.
