(USS Exeter - Ready Room – CFO – Lieutenant - Ire Williams - 1513)

“You need to look after yourself and not worry about other people. You needsome quiet time”


"Ire, everytime I have a moment of quiet, all I can see, feel, here, isthe knife going into my abdomen. Ravok didn't give two shits about the damagehe caused."

Ire just nodded and waited for his friend to continue.


"He murdered Cade, in cold blood, slit his throat, for no other reason toshow me that he wasn't playing around. Because I reminded him that he had adaughter to care for. He's a son of a bitch, and I wonder....I wonder if it wasthe empress doing." 

Ire saw Trip stand up and walked over toa photo on the wall. "Or if this was Ravok all along, and he just hid whohe was well."

Ireshook his head as he looked out of the ready room windows at the space beyond.

 

“Itcould not have been him. We would have noticed it a lot sooner if he had been thattype of a person.”

 

He’shead snapped around at the sound of braking glass. He saw that Trip had put hisfist into a photo.

 

"#@$@Him!" 

 

Tripsaid in anguish as he hurled the remains of the photo across the room. Ireleaned back out of the way of the flying projectile and then stood. He noticedthat blood was dripping into the carpet from Trip’s cut hand. He stepped overand pulled the emergency medkit from its unobtrusive container. He placed it onTrip’s desk and flicked it open. He paused for a moment looking what he neededbefore grabbing it and going over to Trip. 

 

“Letme have a look at that or you will bleed out all over the floor.”

Hetook Trip’s hand and began to move the dermal regenerator over it to stop thebleeding.

 

“It’sgood to see that you still have a strong punch.”

 

Heglanced over at the remains of the photo.

 

“Maybenot the target of your anger management thought.”
