Mission: A new day dawns

Day: 1

Stardate: 2446.01.28



(USS Exeter - Ready Room - aFO Cmdr Alex Jones - 1801)



Alex exited the lift, crossing the bridge that was currently mostly empty
apart from repair crews who were beginning to update and repair some of the
Exeter’s systems. Reaching the door to the Captain’s ready room, he paused,
not out of nervousness, although he had cause for that, it was just to
pause for a second, this would be an opening into the next chapter of his
life.



"Come in." Trip said as his last appointment entered his office.



Stepping across the room, he saw the Captain sat behind his desk, no doubt
after a litany of visitors all reporting in. “Commander Jones, reporting
Sir.” He then handed over the PADD from HQ containing his transfer orders,
and offered his hand to shake.



Trip stood up and shook the man's hand. "Please take a seat."



“Thank you Sir.” Alex said simply as he sat down opposite the Captain.



"Well, I'm sure you've been briefed on our, well recent escapades."



“I have indeed, and I have to say, were I reading anything other than
official reports and the like, I would have questioned their content. A
Pah-Wraith...Twenty-First century Toronto…” He frowned slightly, “The ship
and it’s crew have clearly been through a lot of trauma already.”

“I’ve been asked to pass on apologies for the lateness in the afternoon for
this transfer Sir, all the necessary information took it’s time to process
I’m told.”

“I’ve looked over the repair schedule too Captain, some interesting
upgrades to an already impressive Ship sir.” He noted gently, he was aware
that he’d be working very closely with the man in front of him, he’d read
what he could about him, and could see nothing about the Officer in front
of him that made him doubt what he read.
