Mission: A new day dawns

(USS Exeter - Ready Room - CO, Captain Trip Williams - 0900)

After an enjoyable morning with his family, Trip beamed up to the Exeter to
get caught up on some officer hours. The crew was technically on leave, but
he had to catch up on some paperwork before he was comfortable being free.
While they were on leave, he did ask the crew to work at least one shift
every 72 hours so just to stay fresh. He didn't really have much to do, he
just wanted to check in with his senior staff.

"Come in," Trip said as Jori entered his ready room. "Have a seat Ensign."

"The reason why I called you in here is two fold. First, you've impressed
me greatly in the very short time I've known you."

"Because of that I am promoting you to Ensign Senior Grade." Trip said as
he passed the full gold pip to Jori.

"The second, well, as you know our Tactical Department has taken a huge
hit. Ravok has gone awol, the next in line, Lt. Blackwell was murdered by
Ravok. As for Lieutenant Smith, her recovery still has a long road ahead.
So, after careful consideration, I am naming you Acting Chief Tactical
Officer until a suitable replacement has been found."
