(USS Exeter - Starlight Lounge - Tactical Officer, Ensign SG Cade
Blackwell, Jr. - 10:20)

Cade stood quietly in the back of the Starlight Lounge. It was less crowded
back there, and his shoulder was still bruised and hurting from where it
was dislocated after pushing Ravok out of the way of the sniper's blast. It
was mended and healed, but still sore. To the point he preferred to be
further in the back with less people, as it meant that there were fewer
people around to bump into his shoulder and make him wince. He was still a
bit bummed that he wasn't around to finish the mission, but looking at how
everyone else ended up, they were lucky that Ryelle was the only crewmember
whose life was lost. Sleeford had lost a leg, there were rumors that Ravok
had lost an eye. All Cade lost was a little bit of pride, which in the long
run, was ok.

As he scanned around the back of the room, looking where to shift now that
the remarks were over and people would begin to mingle, he noticed one of
the science officers off by herself. She seemed distraught, broken, at the
point of opening a flood gates of tears that might never stop. She looked
like she needed a hug.

Cade quietly mader his way over to her. He was tall, built, stocky, a tank.
But in his heart of hearts, Cayden Jeremiah Blackwell, Jr. was a teddy
bear. More Ferdinand the Bull, then a raging one. The captain's words had
resonated with him. Be there for each other.

"Excuse me, I don't think we've met, my name is Cade, Cade Blackwell."
