Mission: The flames of purity

Day: 16

Stardate: 2445:09:16

(USS Exeter – Bridge – CO, Lt. Commander Trip Williams – 1300)

Trip turned his head as Lieutenant Merek entered the bridge. All of his
"children" were home. Except one. Ryelle. They had his body, but
unfortunately, the Bajoran doctor lost his life in the line of duty. That
loss left a pit in Trip's stomach.

Trip nodded at Mereka as she approached.

“Lieutenant Merek reporting in. Shuttle is put to bed, everyone we put down
on that planet is accounted for.” Keira reported.

 "Welcome home Lieutenant. How are you holding up?"

(Reply Merek)

"You don't need to report right back to duty if you don't want to. Take an
hour or two to breathe. I know Ravok is banged up. You can be with him if
you want.  We'll have a proper debrief later."

(reply Merek)

Trip nodded then looked towards the viewscreen.

"Now that we've taken care of this problem, it's time to follow through
with our secondary orders. Starfleet asked us to do a bit of, well second
contact so to speak, with known Gamma quadrant worlds. Check in, show off
the new ship, and help restablish communication. So I guess it's onto a few
days cruising the Gamma quadrant. From cult busters to diplomats and
explorers in the span of a few days. Lucky us." Trip said with a laugh.
"Ensign Frost, set course for the Teplan Homeworld, that is our first stop.
Warp 8."

Trip leaned forward in his chair. "Engage!"

NRPG: The "second contact" is all happening off screen. It exists to give
us something to do off screen to catch up to the other ship which is on I
believe day 20.
