(Runabout Broken Bow –StratOPS, Ensign SG Billy Alexander - 1130)
“Okay I am going back to find whoever did this if you want to go back to
the Exeter now is your chance. There is no way that Ryelle was put into the
pods along with the Genesis device on their own. I am going back and search
every inch until we find this person and bring them back to the Exeter
alive so that they can answer for their crimes. Any objections?”
"I'm staying with you. Besides, if we detected a lifesign, and got a dead
body, doesn't add up, unless someone manipulated things at the last moment.
So I'm with you, right Master Chief Brown?"
(reply Brown)
“Okay.”
Ire flipped the Brocken Bow into a tight turn as he slammed the impulse
engines into max burn and charged back towards the escape pods.
~Ire pull it back you go charging back in without a plan you are just going
to get everyone killed~
“Okay I don`t want to give this…..person the upper hand. We are coasting
in on a course that will have us drift past the pods close enough for a
detailed scan and transporter lock on any biological object inside. Once we
find the person we will transport them on board. I want us all to have
phasers on heavy stun and I am not taking any chances. This person is
dangerous and has killed so any hint of a problem we stun them and I`ll
deal with the consequences when we get back. Do you have any ideas about
how to get a good look inside and a proper lock on its occupants without
triggering any surprises or should we just light it up like a beacon with
every sensor we have and hope we can snatch them before any booby traps go
off?”
"Well we keep thinking of beaming them over here, but what about the
opposite, and beam ourselves into the escape pod. Master Chief Brown and I
go over, with Transporter beacons attached to our person, get over, stun
the person, then hit them with an isolinear tag. You then beam them back to
the Exeter. Assuming there are no booby traps that is. But I've been
thinking about that."
(reply Brown, Ire)
"There is a Genesis linked device in there, so its, like would they really
have anything rigged to go off that could risk the device going off? I
mean, would you risk losing your master plan due to an accidental Booby
trap? I wouldn't."
(reply Brown, Ire)
"The other option to consider is, well, blowing up the pod from a safe
distance. Sure the reaction might create an unstable planet, incorporating
the debris around it. But think about it, it's in a pretty open area of
space, without too much collateral damage. The planet would then form, age
rapidly, and then, well die. I mean... I dunno. Wouldn't that be the safe
play, like say we can't get whoever is in there, and its not necessarily
safe to tow the sucker back to the Exeter. Can we risk waiting for the
Exeter to finish at the planet, then come back to it. Say for example while
the Exeter is finishing things on the planet, some unfriendly species finds
it. I mean could you imagine if the Founders found it, and it reignited a
new Dominion war, and oh yeah, now we have shapeshifters with a doomsday
weapon." Billy stopped. "Sorry that is too extreme. I don't know what came
over me. Please ignore it."
