(Escape Pod Triskelion, Section Alpha – CSO – Dr. Fave Itel – 1100)

Once the three pods were joined and all the power from the Gamma and Beta sections was moved to re-enforce the alpha pod, and Fave not being particularly hungry, actually from that bump on the head he was truthfully feeling a bit nauseous.

~First order of business survival~

He decided a nap to conserve energy was in order. He secured himself to one of the padded surfaces designed for such. He was instantly glad that he wasn’t a member of the crew on that damned Bird of Prey, one because of it’s untimely destruction, and two because Klingon survival pods were worse for comfort than their prisons and their bunks. They used the former of the two more that the latter, the survival pods were put in more as an after thought. He mused to himself that’s why Klingons were so hell-bent on revenge, for making them spend time in their own awful survival pods. Realizing as bad as his situation was, it could be worse, as he drifted off to a less than restful slumber.

The passive proximity alarm woke Itel from his nap. He accessed a nearby panel passive scans revealed a starship of some kind. Not a capital ship, but too large to be a shuttle. The warp signature was definitely Starfleet, a runabout, maybe?

His instincts screamed to him.

~Run! Fly you fool!~

Instinct took over and he fired thrusters. The craft jerked suddenly and slammed into the Federation runabout as collision alarms went off. Itel looked at the panel to see the damage report come in. Section Gamma was venting atmosphere. He closed the hatches from both sides of Gamma closing it off and conserving the air he would need to breathe.

~Not that it will do much good. They’re still there.~

The panel reported they were attempting to lock on a transporter.

~Not yet….If I go to their ship it will be on my terms.~

He used their scans to tap into their sensor grid and sent false life-signs coming from the Starfleet officer’s remains, using his own in their place. With the Starfleet combadge on the body, it would almost guarantee that they’d lock on to him first.

~Should be convincing enough. Just as someone in a section venting atmosphere I too am scared for my life.~

In a moment he would know if his ruse worked. Either he would be over there, or they would get their deceased comrade back. He leaned over and glared out the viewport leading into the Gamma section, just in time to see it enveloped in a transporter beam.

He prepared his contingencies, grabbed the knuckle duster phaser off the rack and waited to see what the crew over there would do.
