Mission: The flames of purity

(Uss Exeter- Deck 7- Main shuttle bay- Tactical Officer, Ensign SG Cade
Blackwell Jr. - 0958)

As Ravok's away team was loading the shuttle, Ensign SG Cade Blackwell
approached the acting Tactical Chief. The tall, muscular tactical officer
was a little bit upset that here was the second away mission in two days
and it seemed like it was the same people always getting the good gigs.
Cade was at risk of becoming a lower decker, someone ancillary to the
function of the ship, who did their job right, but didnt get any of the
opportunities. Or so that was what his mind was telling him. Not that there
was anything wrong with being a Lower Decker, but he just wanted an
opportunity to prove himself. His dad, a retired Starfleet Marine, always
said that it never hurt to ask, so Cade decided that the worst thing that
could happen was that he would be told no, but at least he was showing some
initiative.

Cade approached Ravok silently, his 6'5" frame slightly towering over the
Romulan Officer.

"Excuse me sir, do you have a moment?"

(reply Ravok)

"I know the timing is tight sir, but I was wondering if I could join the
away team. I know that its probably odd to ask this close to your leaving
sir, but I just want an opportunity to show what I can do. It's an
important mission, sir, and I think I could be of use. If nothing else sir,
I am certified hand to hand specialist, and achieved highest
classifications in marksmanship at the academy."
