Stan smiled at Vesper and continued to fiddle with the Phaser. He had removed the power pack so he would not end up shooting himself. As he worked on the firing end of the weapon. He heard the doors opening. He 

“Stan we have an armoury Officer for that” 

More looked up and smiled.

“ That’s true and I have nay problem there. But yer see Starfleet regulations say that these wee beasties firing accuracy. Is fine and dandy at 99%. I feel that missing 1% however is the cross between. Stopping yer target hurting someone or missing any vital organs. So they can continue to hurt our friends.” Stan replied as he continued to tinker.

Out of the corner of his eye. He saw Sleeford  sitting down.

“Who are we waiting for?”

“ A few others and the boss. Yer know funny as it seems. I have not yet met Lieutenant Ravok.” Stan said putting the Phaser to his eye.

“ Nay dinna worry yer selves. I took the power pack oot. She canna hurt me. Och this lens is well dirty. No wonder me aim was off.” Stan replied

“ Eye I have heard that. But in this instant it was the tool that was bad. Just look at this wee thing.” Stan said showing them the lens.
