Lillian gave Stan’s hand a nudge. He gave her a scratch behind the ear.

" Ensign More, I was sent here to help you clear your name. I am under direct orders from Lieutenant Ravok to assist you in clearing your name. I was ordered to not disclose that information to you yet I have failed.... The Lieutenant had to remove you from duty according to procedure. "

“ But in the back of his mind , he thinks I did it.” Stan said bitterly.

" He was not required to confine you to quarters. You have to look at this from the mind of a Romulan. Lieutenant Ravok fitted you with a tracking device with a direct link to a CN type 2 tracking device. To help ensure that if another murder happened your locations would be logged in a database not connected to the ships main computer. Trust me I know a thing or two about Romulans . Even when their intentions are good they are masked in secrecy. They are hardly ever direct with anything they do." He admitted.

“ So he wants to help.....” Stan said

" That's right." Sytuk said as he stepped closer to Stan and lowered the volume of his voice. 
" Lieutenant Ravok wants to help you, but he is bound by duty to not help you directly. He wants me to help you. "
 Sytuk stopped. He was betraying his orders to remain silent. 
" If we keep our eyes and ears open we can find out who did this." Sytuk said , holding to convince Ensign More.

Now Stan Understood. True he had been an absolute idiot with a capital I. He should never of handed himself in. But now was not the time to dress in a potato sack and walk around wailing. The game was afoot! He clapped his hands and rubbed them.

“ Ok. Let’s do it. Firstly tell me everything you have so far.” Stan said

Stan listened.His little grey cells worked together.

“ Ok. Why. Apart from the obvious that Nix was a complete barmpot. Why would anyone wish to harm him?” Stan said

“ No. They would of looked into that already. This has to be someone or something from his past. Something that Nix did or didn’t do. That had someone out to end his life...... what do we know about his whereabouts during the occupation?” Stan asked.
