(USS Exeter - Bridge - Ensign JG Matthew Fuller - 0305)

Matthew had been trying to make sense of what was happening on the screen
before him when he heard a voice call out.

"Ops I have a signal"

He turned his chair slightly to see who had spoken and saw it was Lt. Frost
a flight engineer. He nodded and said.

"Acknowledged Lieutenant. Can you give me the signal location and anything
else you might have?"

"Confirm Ops. Signal three, one, fiver, mark, zero, one, fiver.
Thirty-fiver mark one, fiver Nadir. Advise read all channels. Signal is
artificial".

"Confirm Flight, thank you".

Matthew felt butterflies in his stomach for a moment as he realised things
were getting real. He was still trying to figure out what he and Zot had
found earlier but now this new information had come in. He studied the
signal for a moment. yep definitely artificial but he couldn't make any
sense of it. Well at least the computer couldn't anyway. He decided to send
the information up the chain of command.

Looking around the bridge he couldn't see Commander Bracken anywhere so he
pressed a button on his console to activate ship wide intercom.

"This is Operations officer Ensign Matthew Fuller paging Commander Bracken.
We have discovered an artificial signal. Computer cannot seem to decipher
it at the moment".

(Reply Bracken)

He paused and then muted the intercom and turned back to Lt. Frost.

"Flight is there anything else you've managed to pick up from that signal
by any chance?"

(Reply Frost)
