(USS Exeter - Bridge - Ensign JG Matthew Fuller

Matthew nodded at her words. He had been through that kind of learning back
on the farm, especially the learning to swim part. Nothing like being
thrown into the river and told to start moving your arms and legs or drown
as an effective way to learn.

"I'm sure the Captain and senior staff would be as loving as possible"
Matthew said in reply. "Although you are right and if something goes
wrong on their behalf we could be in for it"

He nodded and smiled back as she turned to her console and started working.
He looked down at the screen before watching all the figures scroll across
it. He pondered what he was looking at and despite the sink or swim
conversation he had just had he felt just a little out of his depth.

He decided that the best course of action was to speak up and admit he
wasn't sure, despite his training what to do. Was there a senior Operations
officer nearby he could talk to?

Turning back to Ronnie he nervously cleared his throat.

"Apologies for interrupting your work, but I'm looking at my screen and all
the figures coming in but I'm not sure exactly what to do with it. I
understand that isn't ideal during a Red Alert but could you point me in
the direction of where to go or who to see to make sense of it, or do I
wait until asked by someone?"

He sighed and sat back waiting for a response, hopefully not too negative a
one.
