Choose a username and email - no payment, no downloads. We'll send you a confirmation link to activate your account.

Design Your Character

We'll guide you through creating a Starfleet officer that fits the setting. Choose your species, background, and role on the ship.

Join a Ship Crew

A moderator will assign you to an active vessel based on your preferences. You'll start your first mission and begin collaborative storytelling.

This is Phase 1 of joining Star Trek: Freedom. Focus on your basic account and character concept - detailed character creation happens after approval.

Most players complete this phase in 5-10 minutes.

Step 1: About You

Let's start with the basics. This information is used for staff communication only and is never displayed publicly.

Player First Name Your real first name, used for friendly communication from staff.

Player Last Name Used only for staff contact - never shown publicly.

STF Username Your unique in-game username. This will identify you throughout the site and game. You'll use this to log in once your application is approved.

Player Location Your country helps us coordinate moderation and community events across time zones.

Email Address We'll use this to contact you about your application and game activity. Please double-check that it's correct.

How did you find us? (Optional) Helps us understand how players discover Star Trek: Freedom.

Step 2: Character Basics

This is your character concept - not a final draft. You can change or expand anything later.

Optional details - you can leave sections blank and complete them after approval.

Character First Name Your character's given name.

Character Last Name Family name or surname.

Character Concept A short summary of who your character is and what they want.

Character Species Choose a common Star Trek species, or select "Other" to propose something different. If you choose "Other", we'll review it with you for setting compatibility.

Character Gender (Optional) Choose what fits your character, or leave this blank.

Age Most Starfleet graduates are in their early-to-mid 20s, but variations are welcome.

Step 3: Appearance (Optional)

These details help other players visualise your character. You can keep this brief or skip sections for now.

Place of Birth Planet or location of birth (for example: Earth, Vulcan, Bajor).

Height Any format is fine - use what you're comfortable with.

Weight Any format is fine - use what you're comfortable with.

Eye Color Your character's eye color - some species have unique eye colors!

Skin Tone Your character's skin tone or complexion (e.g., "Fair", "Olive", "Dark", "Green" for Vulcans, etc.)

Blood Color Blood color varies by species - Humans have red blood, Vulcans have green, Andorians have blue, etc.

Hair Color Your character's hair color - some species don't have hair!

Physical Description Describe your character's physical appearance - height, build, distinguishing features, any unique characteristics. This helps other players visualize your character.

Step 4: Background (Optional)

This section adds depth, but it's perfectly fine to keep it short or complete it later.

Optional details - you can leave sections blank and complete them after approval.

Education Describe your character's educational background - where they grew up, their pre-Academy education, their Starfleet Academy experience, and any specializations or areas of expertise they focused on.

Family and Background Describe your character's family, upbringing, early life experiences, and background. What shaped them into who they are today?

Pre-Starfleet History What did your character do before joining Starfleet Academy? Did they have a career, travel, study something specific, or have other experiences?

Step 5: Skills & Assignments (Optional)

These choices help us place you on a ship where you'll have the most fun. Nothing here is permanent.

Primary Duty Assignment Your character's primary role on the ship - this is their main job assignment

Secondary Duty Assignment Your character's secondary role - a backup assignment they can fill if needed

Preferred Ship or Station (Optional) Tell us if you have a preference. We'll match you with current openings.

Preferred Starting Rank (Optional) We assign rank based on your concept and available roles.

Skills and Abilities List your character's skills, talents, and specializations. What are they particularly good at? What unique abilities do they have?

Medical History Optional: Any relevant medical information, allergies, conditions, or medical history that might be important for role-playing purposes

Hobbies and Interests What does your character enjoy doing in their free time? Hobbies, interests, recreational activities - this adds depth to your character!

Additional Notes Optional: Any additional information about your character, your application, or anything else you'd like us to know!

Role-Playing Experience (Optional) Optional - whether you're brand new or experienced, you're welcome here.
