Mars was getting busy, more and more of the personnel and equipment were arriving. The Admiral needed a place to think. “I agree, Admiral. I think we’re proceeding as best as we expected.”, he reported to a message that he was replying to. Pre-recorded, the Admiral at Starfleet was probably long gone to bed. A message for him came over the communications system. It was Ensign Poldan. =^= Sir, I’m sorry for the time, however, I need you in sickbay =^= “On my way.”, said the Admiral. He left his office. Due to the nature of the damage onboard the starbase, he was heading for his runabout. It would take a little bit of time to make it to the surface. (Starfleet Martian Ground Facilities – Corridor 453L – SECTAC Ensign (jg) Carson Peters – 0122) He knew it was late, but he found it difficult to sleep these days unless incredibly tired. The nightmares and dreams would wake him moments after falling into a sleep. So Carson had decided to take a walk around the base for what felt like the hundredth time since arriving. He knew it was important that he knew every nook and cranny in the time of an emergency. When it became apparent the excitement of the new posting and the first day here was going to be too much for him to get any meaningful sleep, he decided to head to the Sickbay to see if anyone on duty could give him some advice on how best to get to sleep, when a voice came over the COMM system, advising on duty security officers that they may be needed in the exact place he was heading. He quickly tapped his COMM Badge and responded "Ensign Peters already enroute to Sickbay. I'll attend." He was only minutes away walking, but he broke out into a soft jog so to cut the time down. He wondered what could possibly be happening in Sickbay at this hour that could possibly require a security presense. Carson checked his phaser out of habit whilst jogging. (Starfleet Martian Ground Facilities – Sickbay - CO Admiral Remae Ktell – 01:23) The Admiral had landed and made his way inside the facilities, eventually ending up the new, if makeshift sickbay. He walked in and to the first Ensign, he came across, “What’s happening here?”, he said, waiting for an explanation. (Reply from Anyone in Sickbay) (Posted by Anthony Keen) (Starfleet Martian Ground Facilities – Sickbay – MO Ens(jg) Ailynn Bracken – 01:23) Ailynn had dispatched Alyl with Carter to the surgical bay, and had just turned to Poldan to address him, and calm him down when she heard other footsteps entering the unit. “What’s happening here?” Ktell said as he reached them. “Admiral.” Ailynn greeted, “The situation that I presented yesterday, has come to a head. Ensign Alyl had an episode necessitating the Duty Medic on call, who regrettably, happened to be Dr Poldan.” Ailynn wished that this hadn’t been necessary, This was precisely what she’d tried to avoid when she realised that there was potential for an issue yesterday. Poldan being on the ‘on call’ duty had been regrettable happenstance outside Ailynn’s control. (Reply Ktell, Poldan) Ailynn sighed, but spoke to Kaz firmly but with reason in her voice. “Kasion, I have answers, if not at the moment, explanations, but I can’t relate those until you calm down some. I know you’re cross, but use what passes for a brain. Does he look 53 years old? Because if not, then something bigger must be happening. Take a step back and think. Come.” She motioned toward a small conference room at the entrance to the unit. (Reply Poldan, Ktell iyw) (Posted by Mark) (Starfleet Martian Ground Facilities – Sickbay – SECTAC Ensign (jg) Carson Peters – 0127) Carson entered Sickbay and quickly glanced around to get a better understanding on what was happening. He saw a gathering of people around a bed and noticed that the Admiral was already here. ~That must be it~ he thought to himself and quietly moved himself towards them. He noted there was a patient with what looked like a broken nose and Ktell was asking what had happened. Carson stood at a respectul distance so that he wasn't intruding, but close enough that he could hear the conversation and intervene at any moment if anything happened he didn't like the look of. His hand hovered over the Phaser in its holster. (Reply any present) (Posted by Jono Bradley) (Starfleet Martian Ground Facilities – Sickbay – MO Ens(jg) Kasian Poldan– 01:26) Kasian listened as Ailynn explained thing to the Admiral as if he wasn’t even there. The feeling that he made a mistake on joining starfleet hit him. He should of listened to his mother he could of been working in a hospital on trill right now. “My father is dead, trills are not a major part of the federation anymore. Hell im lucky to be here. He is clearly something else pretending to be a starfleet Officer of the past, and I swear if he makes one more reference about my people or my father I’ll break more than his nose.” Kasian had yet to make eye contact with Ailynn he couldn’t at this moment look at anyone Kasian was surprised how calm he sounded he hadn’t let his temper get out of control. Ailynn next words cut a little deeper then the last he didn’t know he could feel such pain and he really didn’t think he could feel more than what was already going happening. “Kasion, I have answers, if not at the moment, explanations, but I can’t relate those until you calm down some. I know you’re cross, but use what passes for a brain. Does he look 53 years old? Because if not, then something bigger must be happening. Take a step back and think. Come.” ::you should at least hear her out. You have many memories of her she is a friend:: Poldan voice came in trying once again to be the wise half of the two of them. ::she kept this information from me. We are not those same kids clearly we do not have the same trust as we did back then:: Kasian opened and closed his hand he couldn’t believe he was so stupid risking injury to his hand over some lier. Kasian didn’t see where he had a choice at this point. At this point Kasian had made up his mind it didn’t matter what Ailynn said or what information she had that man wasn’t who he said, and they clearly weren't friends. The officer in my surgical bay IS Jaton Alyl.” She stepped around the small room, perhaps inheriting her mother’s habit of never sitting still when she thought, she was always fidgeting. (Reply Poldan) Ailynn pointed at the seat, hoping the memories of their friendship and their parents close close friendship would be enough. “You...Sit...Coffee…Drink…Listen.” “But he is NOT your father; and I can prove it. It is for this reason, that I delayed informing you Kaz. For that, You have my undying apology for the stress caused, but Admiral, it is my unswerving belief, to make decisions based on fact, not whim, on data, not hyperbolic observation. She definitely didn't want to waste away over the next couple of months and have her bones become as fragile as glass over the years she might be stationed here. Wearing her academy issue physical fitness attire she went to the gym. She had alot to do today so she started before the sun came up as she didn't know if she would have time later. It had the added bonus of most people weren't up this early and she didn't want to be seen looking "silly". She started with preparatory drill one. Light calisthenics to get her cardiovascular system warmed up before starting harder cardio. She decided one circuit of prep-drill one twenty reps each exercise would be sufficient for today. She counted the repetitions out in her head as she completed them. ~One....two.....three...~ She soon completed one circuit. "Computer, time?" [The current time is zero-four-forty-hours Martian Standard Time] ~Right on schedule, next the Tobata run~ Tobata runs were a high intensity run sprinting for 20 seconds then walking for 10 and repeating 8 times totaling 4 minutes. "Computer, set timer consistent with Tobata exercise routine. Twenty and ten second intervals audible tone at the end of each interval, silent count. Eight intervals each. Begin." she instructed, and took off in a dead sprint. She caught her breath after completion. A short rest and she moved on to weight training. Sekal had made the discovery of the door leading to a wide staircase and he had gone up three flights of stairs finding yet more laboratories as well as this auditorium so he had changed the location of the briefing. He had also found the turbolift door and branching tunnels but that system was currently non operational. He noted Sienna walk in, no doubt curious as to the reason for the meeting and he motioned her forward. (Reply: Sienna) There was another officer attached to this department according to the Admiral who had not as of yet appeared and truth be told he and Sienna had been too busy to investigate. If the science department didn't have the most important duty on Mars then it was certainly not among the least since working together science and engineering were going to substantially improve the technology available to the Fleet before it could even become one again. That meant in this situation they had the daunting task of restarting research but only AFTER they could put together enough equipment to use. And the shape of the facilities was atrocious. They would get nothing done until it was cleaned up. He had counted three hundred and fifty beings male and female, and one Caitian who would count as neither yet both. They were of many different species. All would be helping and they were about to get their marching orders for the day. When the USS Serenity was being sold off for scrap. I managed to get possession of the UMTSC’s as well as a few other things=^= He raised an eyebrow. “Aunty they were classes as experimental equipment there was no way they were going let that teck go even if the programmed got scrapped.” He watched as hi Aunty paused gave a small smile. =^=I am very persuasive when I want to be=^= Ire groaned. “Aunty you’re not Special Operations anymore. The group in front of him mostly came to silence. "Your presence here today is noted. Tomorrow your numbers will be nearly doubled as the rest of the technical staff for the science department arrives. Yesterday was a matter of the senior officers getting a feel for the challenges that lay in store." His eyes swept over the group. "You will have noted the condition of the facilities as you made your way to this auditorium and it will be the responsibility of yourself and the others to change that condition." He heard several groans and at least one moan of "....glorified janitors." He ignored it. "There are five floors of science labs and offices. Each floor has a storage room with cleaning supplies. You will be divided into six divisions by count. One group for each floor and one group to police and clean up the arboretum." His gaze swept over them again, most seemingly had resigned to their destiny without protest. Satisfied he continued. "You will pick one lab on each floor to move the intact equipment into after it is cleaned and make sure that which you place there is scrubbed first. Science lab three on floor one is an example. All cannibilized equipment shall be left in place until it can be inspected. Are there any questions?" Despite sullen faces at the early prospect of cleaning duty no one spoke in protest. After that he had them count off and sent them out by their division to begin the task of clean up. All groups had at least fifty eight and two had fifty nine. The days orders taken care of he began moving. They would need to requisition EVA suits and some transporter tags. The tools and small bag as well as flash he had picked up yesterday would go with them. He tapped the combadge as he walked. "Security this is Sekal. Ensign Verin and I will be taking a runabout to Utopia Planitia to inspect some of the ships for parts." Listening as a young NCO fielded requests and normal reports. =/\= Security this is Sekal. Ensign Verin and I will be taking a runabout to Utopia Planitia to inspect some of the ships for parts. =/\= The called peaked Rebecca’s interest, she had gotten a few of the torpedoes working but some parts could be of use as well as her engineering experience would be a great help. She tapped the NCO on the shoulder. “I will take that one. My engineering experience could come in handy.” He tapped on the comm panel =/\= Understand Ens Sekal We short of personal but we can spear Ens Flagg and I see if anyone else is available. =/\= =/\= Yes I realize this, we will meet those you detail for guard duty at the launch pad at 0645. There was little time for her to get ready first off to Rebecca’s quarters to change her hair style so that it would fit into the EVA suit a little better and to pick up her own tool kit. Her kit was for working on Bombs but she knew it had the tools to bypass systems to give them access if required. The to the armoury to get some weapons that where suited for EVA siuts just incise. (Mars Base - Security Office 4 - SEC/TAC Ensign (jg) Carson Peters - 0620) Carson had, had a rough time trying to get to sleep after the events in Sickbay during the early hours of the morning. He'd gotten just enough to feel refreshed and then resigned himself to an earlier night today. He'd gotten to the Sec Ops Centre and gotten himself up to speed with what was happening throughout the day. One of the jobs stood out to him, was that a few of the Science types were planning inspections of ships around Utopia Planitia. They'd need some sort of Security escort and it seemed like the ideal time to get to know a few of the senior officers going and get a look around the facilities and the ships. He'd be able to keep an eye out for useful parts for when he met with Engineering later on in the day. He had began to assign himself and one of his newly acquired Squadron to the detail when the call came through asking for exactly that. Before he could respond, Ensign Flagg asigned herself to the detail. He wondered whether she'd think him to be overbearing if he also tagged along. He thought on it for a moment and then quietly assigned himself to the job, the two of them should be able to handle it adequately. It'd be an excellent time for some teammate bonding, afterall, he'd had very little to do with Flagg since they reported in. A quick meeting with her in front of the Admiral and a brief appearance from her last night in the meeting Sanok had called. NRPG: I'm assuming she turned up to the meeting, If I'm wrong I'll repost with the offending line removed Giles. (Mars base- launch pad – 0635 ) Rebecca arrived as the runabout was being prepped, she walked up and looked around for who ever was in charge of the mission. She carried an old EOD duffle bag with everything for the mission in her right hand, the left hold held a Tessen. Rebecca hoped that people would get used to her holding fans and that people would not realise what they were, she did not like not fully trusting the hole crew but there was still the feeling that there was factions that might not be working for the same goals. Seeing Sekal and Verin Rebecca walked up to him with a big smile “Ens. Flagg, reporting for security detail.” (Reply: Sekal, Verin, Any) Posted by Giles PJ) (Mars Base - Runabout Launch Pad - SEC/TAC Ensign (jg) Carson Peters - 0640) Carson had equipped himself with both a standard phaser and phaser rifle, as well as as tri-corder and his standard PADD. He also had a small backpack with him, which housed several different supplies. As he walked through the door to the launchpad, he noticed that Ensign Flagg was already present and speaking with the Scientists. He walked up to them, waited for the most opportune moment to introduce himself and said, "Good morning all, I'm Ensign Peters. If you don't mind, I'd love to join on your excursion as part of your Security detail." He looked from Flagg to the others. (Reply Flagg, Sekal, Verin, Any) (Posted by Jono Bradley) (Mars base- Launch Platform 2-Science Officer- Ensign Sekal -0649) Sekal had the EVA suit tucked away in a bag which strap was over his right shoulder and the bag rode outside his left hip, he would change into it when the time came. The tools and flash were in a small semi hard case in his left hand. As he was approaching the runabout on the landing pad two officers in security gold met him. He stopped and inspected them closely as they introduced themselves, it was convenient that all officers were of the same rank since it lessened the need for formality. The female was first and her manner was suffused with excitement or so it appeared. “Ens. Flagg, reporting for security detail.” He dropped his chin a fraction of an inch in acknowledgement. The next was male and appeared more at ease. "Good morning all, I'm Ensign Peters. If you don't mind, I'd love to join on your excursion as part of your Security detail." Peters then looked at them all as if unsure of his welcome. Sekal nodded at them both. "I am Sekal. Thank you for answering my call. We will be getting underway very shortly and I will be piloting. Please stow your gear aboard while I run the preflight Inspection. Ensign Verin should be along momentarily." (Reply: Flagg, Peters) Sekal first did a visual inspection of the thrusters on the outside of the craft along with a number of sensor and guidance nodes after turning on a tricorder he had brought for the occasion. Everything read normal so he walked up the entrance ramp with head down to clear the doorway. He turned and saw Ensign Verin running for the runabout, turned and made his way to the pilots cabin. (Reply: Sienna) (Runabout- Pilot cabin -Science Officer- Ensign Sekal -0653) He sat down and went over everything minutely. The craft was fully fueled and every system showed readings within normal parameters so he brought thrusters to standby, noted the entrance ramp was still down, closed the door and retracted the ramp. The craft then read green for flight. He tapped a comm. button. "Control this is shuttle two requesting permission to launch" =^= No traffic shuttle two. You are cleared for launch.=^= "Launching." He activated vertical thrusters and slid his fingers upward moving the touch sensitive slider bar on the display and the craft moved to hover ten meters off of the runway. He switched to rear thrusters and the craft shot forward and upward at his command. The inertial dampeners had kicked in to bleed off excess g-forces as he continued to apply thrust until they had reached breakaway speed. Within one minute and forty five seconds they had reached orbit, he cut thrusters then turned toward Utopia Planitia and engaged the lateral thrusters for automatic course to keep them on the current track. They were coming in a little fast so he fired the forward thrusters to bleed off speed until they were coming in at a gentle pace toward an unoccupied launch pad away from the docks. He had received Ensign Sanok message this morning when he had scrolled though his message list. On a personal level he would have to move the Wingmen out Zeta 295 and into a better workspace. He wanted to at least get one up and flying but having some where orbital so that if it all went wrong, he would not kill any one if it crashed. The other was crew rosters for the fighters. At the moment the Peregrine fighters were good and most looked flight worthily along with the ability for long range system patrols. What he really wanted as was get the fighters into orbital hangers where they would be faster to deploy and use the ground side hangers for repair and maintenance. He scooped up his PADD and scrolled down it. He had found some old information about how the old Meredith class carriers ran their fighter squadrons. ~Blimy there were three whole squadrons in one ship wish we could have that compared to our one for the whole system~ He knew that he would have to correlate this and show Trip before they met Sanok. ~Okay we have 36 pilots and craft as well as a few that need deep maintenance. So that is 6 pilots to a flight which gives is 6 flights, which could be grouped into two wings of 3 flights each under the command or me and Trip~ He paused going over his numbers again. ~So that’s two flight on patrol, two on standby and two resting~ He rubbed his hands over his face. ~Also means that me and Trip need to fly as well. That’s if I can prise him away from the Exeter. Well I can’t talk I have my babies to play with as well~ He sipped his tea again. ~We really need another FSO to share the load~ He smiled absentmindedly sipped his tea and ate his food as he worked through the PADD but did not notice the person beside him until they spoke. She had plenty of time between when she finished her work out and when she had planned on starting a sensor sweep of Mars and everything in orbit including the ship yards, but when she got back and out of the shower she had multiple messages stating which projects had to be started, which had already started and immediately felt as if she was falling behind. She grabbed something that she could eat on the go. Breakfast burrito seemed like a good choice, was optional to come wrapped in foil to preserve some of it's heat if she had to eat it later, it would still be a little warm. She chose a coffee two creams, two sugars and was all set to go. Then she saw an officer sitting by himself in the officer's mess. ~That was me yesterday. ~ She decided that a little socializing this morning wouldn't set her behind by too much, and approached him to sit. He seemed enraptured in what he was doing, if her approach angered him the worst he could say was "no". "Hello, mind if I sit?" she asked. "How's the phrase go, looks like you could use some company?" (Reply Williams, I. ) "Ensign Merek, Engineering. Wait, Williams, aren't there two of you in Flight OPS? He smiled as he took a sip of tea tried to push the flight plans and pilot allocations to the back of his mind. Merek had wanted a chat so he should at lest be gracious enough to talk to her. “Nothing too exciting I am afraid. I am a Starfleet brat both my permeants were fleet, but they spent a lot of time doing long range surveys of the Subspace river.” He paused for a moment before continuing. “Spent a lot of time growing up with my Aunt who is a merchantman captain doing long range logistic support of star fleet. They had set up lighting around the room and on the various cat walks so that they could see while they worked. With main power still off line, this room was largely unlit. Mobile power supplies had been connected to the various consoles to get them working again, those that still worked and didn't require complete repair that was. Grk had finished his work on the MSD table and sent a current system status to not only Admiral Ktell, and each of the other engineering ensigns, but he had also sent a copy to each department so they could better coordinate their repair efforts. Grk had volunteered to lead a team down here to the Primary power generator to begin the task of doing a complete inspection, repair and preparation for power up. Even now a team of enlisted engineers were going of the slush deuterium tanks and preparing them for a new supply of Deuterium. The antimatter reactant injector was also being inspected before they began to produce any antihydrogen. Grk wasn't taking any chances with safety. He had ordered that every thing be checked and rechecked. He himself was going over the reaction chamber and the installation of a new dilithium crystal as the old one had been removed when the base had been abandoned. ~I just hope someone get the primary computer working. We can't fire this thing up till the primary computer is working properly.~ He thought, as he was running his tricorder of the reaction chamber looking for micro-fractures. Grk looked over at the six engineers currently working nearby. ~This is going to take some time.~ He thought with a sigh turning back to his own work, pulling a tool out of his kit to begin the delicate task of mounting the crystal. Luckily she had the foresight to grab a "hey you" detail of three teams of unassigned enlisted engineers and technicians to help lighten the load. The core itself was a haphazard mismatch of patchwork upgrades and add-ons. She had one team working on scanning the possibly thousands of isolinear chips to determine which were still useable and which were corrupted beyond repair. The soft hum of their tricorders created a noticable cacaphony white noise as they scanned from chip to chip that filled the chamber. The useless ones were discarded on the deck of the chamber to be gathered later for matter salvage. The pile of multicolored chips steadily grew in size. She could make out one crewman declaring the status out loud as he scanned each chip. "Crap....crap....crap...mega crap....crap..." Another team was testing optical cables individually of which there were hundreds going between the banks all the upgrades and exiting the chamber. They would cut out dysfunctional pieces and splice in new replacements, the process of which created a slight hint of ozone in the air. Yet another team was replacing optical chips though not as quickly as they were being removed. There job involved finding the empty spots and through several different manuals finding what should be encoded on that chip to ensure the proper running of the station. The Ensign herself was writing a program to ensure all these parts from different upgrades were all able to speak to one another. She hoped to have a useable computer core in the next couple hours. The Bajoran would have to watch out, or he’ll be spending his days doing paperwork or having meetings – that wasn’t going to happen. A CPO was outside and waiting to be seen. Along with the Ensigns across the base, the Admiral was trying to catch up with the enlisted offices who had experience. “Admiral Ktell; Chief Petty Officer Charles Tamblyn reporting as ordered, sir.”, reported the “Thanks for coming Chief, welcome to Mars.”, he said, offering a seat to the new arrival. “You may have noticed a couple of things so, this isn’t going to be your run of the mill, Admiral-Enlisted man chat, I need facts, options and all the help I can get.”, he said and he began giving an overview of Mars and what they were trying to do here. The need for security, the need to bolster their defences, to repair ships and update their weapons, the mars defence permitter, he laid out all the aspects of how Mars was going to function and how it was going to defence sector 001. “What do you think, Chief?”, he said, sitting back in his chair, ready to listen to the CPO. (Reply from Tamblyn, Any) (Mars Facility – Admiral’s Office – CPO Charles Tamblyn - 0940) “Thanks for coming Chief, welcome to Mars.”, the Admiral started as he offered Tamblyn a seat. “You may have noticed a couple of things so, this isn’t going to be your run of the mill, Admiral-Enlisted man chat, I need facts, options and all the help I can get.”, he said and he began giving an overview of Mars and what he was trying to do. “The need for security, the need to bolster their defenses, to repair ships and update their weapons, the mars defense perimeter, he laid out all the aspects of how Mars was going to function and how it was going toward the defense of Sector 001. “What do you think, Chief?”, he said, sitting back in his chair, ready to listen to the CPO. Tamblyn had been on station for almost 36 hours and had walked around the facility meeting up with some friends and watching the fleet personnel and how they interacted with each other and with the civilian population. From his observations, Charles had several ideas on how to help Admiral Ktell out, but he also had a sneaky suspicion that the moment the words left his mouth his fate would be sealed. After taking a deep breath to organize his thoughts, Tamblyn focused on the admiral and began. “First off, sir; you need a strong NCO support chain to assist with the day-to-day running of the various departments. Officers are Commanders while NCOs are Leaders. A good strong senior NCO will most likely have the leadership ability and experience that will help guide and mentor junior officers into becoming good commanders.” (Reply Ktell iyw) “Secondly, sir: Mars is facing just as many if not more threats from criminal elements already on the ground as it is from hostile fleets. Toward that end, I would suggest inviting the local civilian law enforcement precinct to work hand-in-hand with the fleet’s base security in a 50-50 partnership with 100% of intelligence on all criminal activity going both ways. For that to work though, you will need a liaison that both sides know and respect.” (Reply Ktell iyw) “Speaking of Intelligence, sir; that brings me to my third suggestion. Have a team that greets and gets to know the various cargo ships and their crews, in a semi-formal fashion and maybe even socialize with them some. They will most likely become your best sources of information. You will only get it as tiny pieces of the puzzle, but usually the picture will become more detailed once put together with what you will get from Fleet-Intel.” (Reply Ktell) “That is all I have for the facility so far, sir. If you will permit me, sir, I do have a couple of RFIs myself.” The Chief commented. While walking Ravok thinks to himself ~ No turning back now. Hopefully I fit right in with flow of things around here.~ Passing through the corridors Ravok notices that there doesnt seem to be any fellow romulans around. Finally after navigating the large Martian facility ,he arrives at the door of the admiral's office. He takes a deep breath ~ Here we go~he thought to himself . Suddenly the door opens before he could even alert the admiral of his arrival. Ravok enters the admiral's office and stands at attention " Ensign Ravok Shara reporting in Sir!" ( reply admiral Remae ) ( posted by Rob ) (Mars Base, Admiral Remae's Office, Sec/Tac Ensign jg Sanok, 1015) When Admiral Remae was ready to see him, Sanok stepped into the admiral's office, stopping in front of his desk. Sanok stood with his hands clasped behind his back. "Thank you for seeing me, sir." Sanok jumped right into why he was there. "Admiral, no one here knows better than you the importance of securing this facility and its personnel. Because of that, I must insist that you have a security escort with you at all times, even to the point of people posted outside your personal quarters while you sleep. It is logical to suspect there could be spies and saboteurs here, and you could be a target for assassination. Your safety is a high priority." Sanok place a PADD on Remae's desk. "I have thoroughly researched the backgrounds of the twelve names on this list," said Sanok. "I trust them, but they are subject to your approval, of course." He paused only for a second. "Admiral, I understand that you may not want an escort, but as we progress in our mission here, this facility becomes a greater target for attack. We must insure you are safe." (reply Remae) (posted by Rob) (Mars Facility – Security Office – CPO Charles Tamblyn - 1030) After his meeting with Admiral Ktell, Charles managed to come to terms with being the NCOIC of the Security Department on the Mars Facility and the NCOIC of the Operations Department onboard the Republic. The interesting kicker is that his secondary duties are the opposite of each post. So basically, Charles will be working as a senior Non-Commissioned Officer for Operations and Security departments on both the Republic and Mars Facility. Tamblyn did learn that he will be teamed up with one of those “wiper-snapper” junior officers by the name of Jacob Jackson. As he sat at one of the desks in the Security Office, Charles called up Jackson’s file so he could get a better idea about the man. Basically, Tamblyn’s investigator and bounty hunter instincts started kicking in. Going through the computers, Tamblyn knew what he had been told, but he still could not shack that nagging suspension that there was something to him being mobilized that he wasn’t being told. As a member of Starfleet, Tamblyn should trust his shipmates; but as a Bounty Hunter, he doesn’t trust anyone other than family and close friends. Tamblyn went through all the personnel files of everyone that is assigned to both, the facility and the Republic. During his investigation through the computer, he found that he was to move over to the ship later in the day. Charles found his name on a list of possible security personnel to escort the admiral to the ship. He did learn one funny tad-bit of information. Tamblyn will be expected to maintain two sets of uniforms. A gold set for the station, and a red set for the ship. If nothing else, it made packing for voyages that much easier. (Reply any) (posted by Charles Raschen) (Mars Facility – Security Office – Ens. Jacob Jackson - 1033) Jake had been instructed to meet with CPO Charles Tamblyn. Jackson was a bit leery about the meeting. From his dad Jacob learned senior enlisted personnel often held junior officers with a degree of distain. Jake rounded the corner and paused a split second before entering the office. "Hello Chief Tamblyn. My name is Ensign Jackson" Jake added nervously. He didn't know where the Paladin was, he'd been rejected by the man purporting to be his son, and to be honest he didn't even know whether or not he was still in Starfleet. But whatever happened, he knew that Admiral Remae could help. He came up to the door and rang the chime. (reply Remae, any) (posted by Spencer) (Starfleet Martian Ground Facilities - Williams-Verin Family Quarters – CONN, ENS JG Trip Williams - 11:00) Trip was sitting on his couch waiting for his two compatriots from the Flight OPS department to arrive to their meeting. He figured that it might be best if they divided the 1st Fighter wing into three squadrons, one squadron under the command of one of the three of them. He had ideas, but it would be best to discuss among the others. If he did get his own squadron, they would be the Red Dragons, and the moment the security people approved his request to go out into the city, he was going to get that new tattoo he compulsively wanted. He was sure there was a meeting place in the hangar, a briefing room of sorts, but he knew the common room of his suite with Sienna was more ready to entertain, thanks to his disastrous attempt to hangout with Ensign Flagg the previous night. But he wasn't thinking about that. He was thinking of a latin phrase that had popped into his head early in the day, Dum Spiro Spero, While I breathe, I hope. He had the duty roster of the flight ops department available on 3 separtate padds, split into pilots and technicians, as well as control tower folks. He didn't know how long the meeting would last, but he definitely had the information at their disposal. All that was left was for his compatriots to arrive.
