He set down the kit he carried and removed his personal PADD and the Anelurian crystal from it. While he was not a geologist he was a well rounded scientist and the tests he was going to do on the crystal were simple. Jaton Alyl was currently off-duty, if he desired to redo the tests when he came on shift then he was welcome to do so. Sekal first calibrated and optimized the equipment using materials currently on hand which were carried in the labs for that very purpose. After everything was dialed in he placed the crystal in the tray, covered it and activated the device. The results were going to take several hours so he had time for other matters. (USS Mystique – Deck 14, CSO's office – aACSO(R) - Ensign Sekal – 1230) He was not the CSO certainly but this office was situated near to the Stellar Cartography lab which he had been making extensive use of during the flight. Ensign Verin was currently manning the bridge and had an office on deck 4 among the Life Sciences labs. She was working closely with Medical as well and sickbay and the CMO's office was on that deck. He sat behind the desk and considered for a moment before tapping his combadge. "Ensign Foxglove are you available for a meeting?" (Reply: Foxglove) "Wherever is convenient for you would be acceptable. I will see you at thirteen, fifteen then?" (Reply: Foxglove) (Posted by Charles Gatling) (USS Mystique - Personal Quarters - Ensign(jg) Jaelle Foxglove - 1233) They were off, for better or worse. It was no secret that there was tension between Luma and any intelligence officer. As soon as Jaelle stepped on the Mystique had the feeling of being watched. It was a feeling that was unwarranted and unwanted. The situation was made worse by the Adrmial not being to guarantee the safety of Jaelle or the rest of the intelligence officers. Most of all Jaelle worried for Eva, she had promised her sister that she would look after her. Eva however was not equipped the same way Jaelle was to handle telepathic invasion, which Jaelle did not put past Luma. But she had work to do an once they where is the void of space it was clear that where stepping into an entirely different region. The power vacuum left by the falling of the Federation had not been filled, that ment different forces, localized warlords, new alliances, and all manner of piracy buying to fill that void or just take advantage of the chaos to get rich quick. These were dangerous waters, so the unease she felt for Luma had to placed on the back burner but she was by no means forgotten about. She was ready to leave her quarters when her commbadge sounded. =/\=Ensign Foxglove are you available for a meeting =/\= Opening the combine she responded. "Yes, when would you like to meet." =/\= Wherever is convenient for you would be acceptable. I will see you at thirteen, fifteen then? =/\= "Ok, then how about we meet in your office, 13:15 then." She responded, closing the commlink she exited her quarter to go about her day. (Reply Sekal) (USS Mystique – Bridge – CO - Admiral Remae Ktell – 1305) The ship was progressing well and the crew were easing into their daily routines and shifts. It was impressive to see that the ship was performing so well and beyond expectations, even as Engineering has managed to coax more speed, up another warp factor, reducing their time to Trill. However, there was no getting away from it, the Admiral wasn’t loving spending large amounts of time in the chair, as the ranking officer on the ship of Ensigns, he’d been careful about letting others take command, even for a moment but it had been 3 days and it was unsustainable, it was time for him to explore more than just the route between the Bridge, the mess and his quarters. He looked around at the unsuspecting people on the Bridge, Ensigns and below all around him, who would be it? He could trust all of them but someone has to be first. “Ensign Vex'ahlia, Luma, I need to take a break. Ensign Shara, take the CONN, if you please.”, he said standing up with an audible click from his back, “I’ll be in 10-Forward but I won’t be back for few hours.”, he said nodding at the Ensign who had been spending time at his Tactical Station. The chair was vacated and Remae headed off the Bridge without a small amount of relief but as the lift doors closed around the Admiral, he was happy to get some time from the Bridge. (USS Mystique – Bridge – Tac. Ensign jg Ravok – 1306) “Ensign Vex'ahlia, Luma, I need to take a break. Ensign Shara, take the CONN, if you please.”, The Admiral said. Ravok couldn't believe it . Out all the fine officers to choose from he chose him. " Aye Sir" Ravok responded as he turned his head to the left and nodded at the security officer. It was a nod implying for the time being they were to handle Tactical as well. Both departments were trained to work together and back each other up when the need arises. “I’ll be in 10-Forward but I won’t be back for few hours.”, Admiral Ramae said nodding to him. " Understood Sir" Ravok replied with nod of his head . The admiral left the bridge. Ravok looked over to the vacant captains chair and walked over to it. As he walked to it he couldn't help but think about how many lives had been lost over the centuries during conflicts with the Federation and Romulans . Many good men and women on both sides fighting and dying for what they believed was right. Even though it was only for a temporary relief. Ravok was about to become the first full blooded Romulan to have been given the opportunity to relieve the commanding officer of a Starfleet vessel. ~All those lives needlessly lost . All the conflict, the plots, the schemes.~ He thought to himself. Ravok stood in front of the chair and turned his eyes forward and sat down. He kept his composure. Hiding his excitement. He turned his head and looked at Ensign Vex'ahlia and nodded his head. He then turned his head the other direction and smiled at his friend Ensign Cortes. ( reply any on bridge) ( posted by Davis) (USS Mystique – Bridge – Pilot – Ensign JG – Ire Williams – 1309) The turbolift door whooshed open as Ire stepped onto the bridge. He stepped to one side and paused as he looked around the bridge. They had been traveling for three days but every time he arrived on the bridge it felt almost too big. ~You really are a small craft pilot at heart~ A ghost of a smile danced across his face before he got it under control as he stepped up to the command chair which Ravok was sitting in. "Permissiion to enter the bridge." He said quietly. (Reply Ravok) He gave a flash of a grin and nodded to Ravok as he stepped over to Trip who was at the helm console. “After noon Trip do you want a brake?” He spoke quietly so that only Trip could hear. (reply Trip) (Reply Trip, Ravok, any) (Posted by Robbie) (USS Mystique – Bridge –CONN, Ensign JG Trip Williams– 1310) Trip was a little perturbed that the Admiral had given the CONN to Ravok instead of him. Yes it would have meant the relief flight officer would have to take over the helm, and Trip was pretty good at keeping the ship from crashing, or blowing up, or getting of course. But still, Trip was the one with more command experience, and in a way he felt like it should have been him. But at the same time, he and Ravok and the same service time, and well, it was the Admiral's call. At the end of the day it didn't matter anyways. Of course it was the arrival of Ire that made Trip even more annoyed. ~Dude isn't on shift until 1800, why's he on the bridge. Doesn't he know we have schedules and shifts for a reason. He should be off right now, resting.~ “After noon Trip do you want a brake?” He spoke quietly so that only Trip could hear. "Ire, what the hell are you doing here?" He whispered back. (Reply Ire) "Yes I understand the need for giving someone a break, but that is why we have on duty officers to give relief, like when I need lunch, or to go to the restroom. You can't just come in and relieve the helmsman on duty just because." (reply Ire) "You should be resting up for your shift man, you have the night shift. You should be sleeping." (Reply Ire) "Look, I'll let you take over because I haven't had lunch yet. But as soon as I go back, you're not to do anything work related until your shift starts." (reply Ire) "Seriously you need to take care of yourself so you don't burn yourself out." (reply Ire) Trip then stood up so he could head to take his lunch. Before he left he whispered one last thing to Ire. "Don't crash the ship." Then with a smile he left. (reply Ire) (posted by Will) (USS Mystique – Bridge – TAC. Ensign jg Ravok – 1310) The turbolift doors opened. Ravok turned his head to see who it was . It was Ire no doubt coming to relieve Trip. Ire stepped in front of him "Permission to enter the bridge." Ire asked quietly. Ravok smiled at Ire " Relax I'm just keeping the Admiral's seat warm." He said to Ire with a smile. " Permission granted Ensign Williams " Ravok said nodding his head to his friend Ire flashed a grin to Ravok. He watched Ire walk over to the Helm where Trip was sitting. Ire spoke quietly to Trip. Ravok with his superior hearing heard what Ire said to Trip but made no mention of it . ~ Trip is well deserving of a break handling a ship at warp is no easy task~ Ravok thought to himself. ( reply any) (Posted by Davis) (USS Mystique – Bridge – OPS, Ens(jg) Vex'ahlia – 1311) Vex had attempted to stay as ever present as she could on the Bridge, it had seemed that the Admiral had taken upon himself to take up the CONN for the past 3 days straight- as unsustainable as it was. They had told him that it wasn't warranted, Luma could take control if required or alternatively Vex could be a mouthpiece as she took command. The Admiral had stayed steadfast however, though Vex personally thought his hold out wouldn't remain much longer, she could feel the tiredness coming from him and she was watching him out the corner of her eyes whilst conversing with Luma about someone on Deck 13 who had injured themselves changing a wall panel. ::Alert medical and let them do their job, if it doesn't look like they can get there in time utilise the transporter:: she said to Luma. The last few days on the ship had been odd, at least whilst the vessel was in drydock she'd been able to go about her job as an Engineer whilst bonding with Luma. Now it felt like her one job was watching the ship remotely and keeping the Admiral aware if they felt someone was in over the heads. “Ensign Vex'ahlia, Luma, I need to take a break. Ensign Shara, take the CONN, if you please.” the Admiral said as he stood up and stretched. “I’ll be in 10-Forward but I won’t be back for few hours.” and he then walked off the Bridge. Vex breathed a sigh of relief, at least they weren't going to have to medically remove him from the chair for exhaustion. The Ensign at the Tactical station signed off the console and relenquished it to someone else and then walked to the centre chair and sat down. She could feel his nerves, ::Clearly his first time in Command:: she said to Luma, who she knew was also watching keenly. (Reply Luma iyw) She smiled and nodded in return as he nodded to her as he looked around the Bridge. The turbolift doors opened once again and an Ensign asked for permission to enter which was duly given by Ravok. She continued to watch him, he seemed to almost be welling up, puffing his chest out as if trying to give the air of command which the Admiral had naturally. Being in the chair next to him, she leaned over and said, "First time?" with a smile on her face. (Reply Ravok) "Exciting would be how we'd describe it." Vex said. (Reply Ravok) "We're here if you need anything. I'm sorry, there's another issue..." she said as she then focused back on what Luma was saying, ::As the Admiral said, allow him to make the mistake. It's not life or ship threatening, those are easily repairable.:: (Reply Ravok) "Just another crewman about to make a rookie mistake." she said to him, (Reply Ravok/Luma iyw) (Posted by Jono Bradley) (USS Mystique – Bridge – TAC. Ensign jg Ravok – 1312) " First time?" Ensign Vex'ahlia asked Ravok. He chuckled " Yes it is Ensign Vex'ahlia " he turned and looked at her. " It is a tremendous Honor " "Exciting would be how we'd describe it." Ensign Vex'ahlia said to him. Obviously speaking on behalf of Luma as well. " Both of you are correct. It certainly is exciting. But it is expected of all bridge officers to be able to provide relief to any command officer on the bridge." Ravok said to her . "We're here if you need anything. I'm sorry, there's another issue..." she said as she looked as though she was concentrating really hard on something . " Problem?" He asked in a concerned but relaxed tone. Ravok wondered what the issue could be. Hopefully it was nothing too serious. "Just another crewman about to make a rookie mistake." she said to him. " On a ship full of Ensigns that is bound to happen" he said with a smile. He also was unaware of the issue so he thought it prudent to prevent any problems. " But we dont need any serious issues to arise from a rookie mistake. Please have help sent to the appropriate location Ensign Vex'ahlia" Ravok stated to her. ( reply Vex'ahlia, any) ( posted by Davis) (USS Mystique – Bridge – Pilot - Ensign JG Ire Williams– 1313) Ire saw Trip’s look and realised that he was not in a good mood. ~Wow that’s not a happy look~ "Ire, what the hell are you doing here?" ~Well you know I was feeling a bit board with you flying the big ship around so I thought that I would come a irritate the hell out of you and see if I could do some doughnuts with her while you were away~ “I am here to offer you a break.” "Yes, I understand the need for giving someone a break, but that is why we have on duty officers to give relief, like when I need lunch, or to go to the restroom. You can't just come in and relieve the helmsman on duty just because." ~Well I can always just leave. If you are going to be mister moody~ “That might be true, but I am here now.” "You should be resting up for your shift man, you have the night shift. You should be sleeping." ~Ow really you think for some reason I woke up and could not read a chrono~ “I only need six hours of sleep a night which I have already had.” "Look, I'll let you take over because I haven't had lunch yet. But as soon as I go back, you're not to do anything work related until your shift starts." ~Go and eat something maybe it will stop you being so grouchy. Of course, I am going to do some work. I am going to go to the holodeck and play the fighter sim~ “Of course” "Seriously you need to take care of yourself so you don't burn yourself out." ~Trip I am an adult for goodness sake. Look! look I have a uniform and a badge and it’s even in big boy size and everything~ He gave him reassuring smile. “Thank you for your concern but I am good.” Trip then stood up so he could head to take his lunch. Before he left, he whispered one last thing to Ire. "Don't crash the ship." ~Ow you git. That’s low. I’ll get you for that~ Ire slid into the vacant chair and scanned the console before a sudden thought came to him. ~Ow crap! Is it him or his sister who’s the empath one? I really hope it’s his sister coz if he can empath sarcasm I in big trouble~ (Reply any) (Posted by Robbie) (USS Mystique - Science Offices - Ensign(jg) Jaelle Foxglove - 1315) Jaelle made it to Sekals office at the appointed time. Pressing the entry actuator to announce her presence. When the door slide open she entered and asked, "Yes, you wanted to see me?" (Reply Sekal) (Posted by Matthew Locke) (USS Mystique – Deck 14, CSO's office – aACSO(R) - Ensign Sekal – 1316) Sekal tapped a button to blank the monitor at the tone and he rose as the door opened and the white haired female entered. Her age was indeterminate as were many facts about her life. "Yes, you wanted to see me?" He nodded. "Yes, I had some things to talk about with the intent of clearing up an issue and a possible misunderstanding. Would you like a refreshment before we begin?" (Reply: Jaelle) He moved to the replicator and took a sip of water from a mug he removed from it before returning to the desk and taking his seat. He sat the mug upon the desk and turned his eyes to Jaelle. "As you know I was bondmate temporarily to Luma'Lenai and as such she gave me a complete clip of the conversation between the two of you the night before I mind melded with her." (Reply: Jaelle) "Ensign Foxglove I did not request your presence here to harangue you. As I said at the beginning I believe I may be of assistance in clearing up the matter between you and Luma. Luma is a ...passionate being and prone to extreme swings of emotion and the very fact of the history between Luma and StarFleet Intelligence made clear communication between the two of you of dubious quality. If you would answer some questions I have resulting from your conversation with Luma I may be able to bridge the gap between the opposing sides." (Reply: Jaelle) He shrugged. "You have my apologies for the delay in getting back to you. The timetable as you are well aware from the moment we stood before the Admiral to receive our orders has been interrupted at every turn by events beyond our control. Even though I am still behind in what needs to be done I am making time at this point. I trust you understand my attempt to be genuine." (Reply: Jaelle) (Posted by Charles Gatling) (USS Mystique – Deck 14, CSO's office – Intelligence Officer Ensign(jg) Jaelle Foxglove – 1319) "Yes, I had some things to talk about with the intent of clearing up an issue and a possible misunderstanding. Would you like a refreshment before we begin?" "No, thank you." Was her short yet polite reply. She watched as he moved to the replicator grabbing a mug of water then crossed back to his deck. Before he continued again. "As you know I was bondmate temporarily to Luma'Lenai and as such she gave me a complete clip of the conversation between the two of you the night before I mind melded with her." Jaelle wasn't surprised by the comment, in fact it was what she suspected. "And what of it?" "Ensign Foxglove I did not request your presence here to harangue you. As I said at the beginning I believe I may be of assistance in clearing up the matter between you and Luma. Luma is a ...passionate being and prone to extreme swings of emotion and the very fact of the history between Luma and StarFleet Intelligence made clear communication between the two of you of dubious quality. If you would answer some questions I have resulting from your conversation with Luma I may be able to bridge the gap between the opposing sides." "She would want to bridge that gap. I did everything I could think of except grovel for her mercy. She wants to hold that grudge I will do what is needed to protect myself and my people." Her voice was cold and void of emotion, Luma was a sore subject. He shrugged. "You have my apologies for the delay in getting back to you. The timetable as you are well aware from the moment we stood before the Admiral to receive our orders has been interrupted at every turn by events beyond our control. Even though I am still behind in what needs to be done I am making time at this point. I trust you understand my attempt to be genuine." "Understandable we all were placed under some tight deadlines to make ready this trip. Not everything goes to plan." Jaelle answered, she waited she was sure Sekal had more he wanted to say before she spoke her mind. (Reply Sekal) (Posted by Matthew Locke) (USS Mystique – 10-Forward – CO - Admiral Remae Ktell – 1320) Walking into the R & R section of the Mystique, Remae gratefully took a seat, had a drink and relaxed for the first time since they launched. Even though they were several days from Trill, he had a feeling the mission was going to go well and the outcome, for once, was going to go their way. (Reply from Shara, Anyone wants a chat with their Admiral) (Posted by Anthony Keen) (USS Mystique – Deck 14, CSO's office – aACSO(R), Ensign Sekal – 1321) "Understandable we all were placed under some tight deadlines to make ready this trip. Not everything goes to plan." He nodded, picked up the mug and took another drink then returned it to the desk. "Very well, you made the claim to Luma that you wore the uniform of StarFleet Intelligence but was not one of them. Luma took this to mean you were being deceptive but in listening to the complete conversation it would appear that she misunderstood your intent." He tapped a key for the monitor and her voice emerged. =^= “Make no mistake I might wear the uniform of Federation intelligence but I am not one of them. Those you harbor so much hate for. Long ago either left the federation or have passed on. =^= "Obviously Luma took your comment to mean that you were within intelligence in disguise but from my perspective it appears you are distancing yourself from the decision makers who pushed through the directive on her abuse and quarantine. " He folded his hands together and gave her a look devoid of all emotion. "Is this correct? Feel free to say everything that is on your mind. I asked you here to help clear up the matter. I understand there may be some things you cannot divulge but if I am convinced of your sincerity then I should be able to convince Luma as well." (Reply: Jaelle) (Posted by Charles Gatling) (USS Mystique – Bridge – TAC. Ensign JG Ravok– 1322) Ravok stewed in his thoughts for several minutes after Trip left the bridge ,being unexpectedly relieved by Ire. Even though Trip and Ire kept tired to keep their verbal exchange quiet he had overheard them. Had Ravok known there would of been an issue he wouldn't of permitted Ire to be on the bridge. Trip was right. Ire had been working hard , harder than most. Ravok didnt want to talk to Ire in front of the rest of the bridge crew but he needed to talk him. Hopefully the admiral would understand. Ravok stood up and looked to the back of the bridge. " Ensign Rica , please relieve Ensign Willams at the helm. Ensign Williams meet me in the admirals ready room. Ensign Vex'ahlia...you have the bridge" he said as he walked to the admirals ready room . (Reply Ire, Vex'ahlia) Ravok stood there waiting for Ire . He was nervous and hoping Ire wouldn't take offense. Ire entered the admirals ready room. Ravok waited for the doors to close and turned to face his friend ." Ire, had I known you didnt previously work this coverage out with Trip I wouldn't of allowed you on the bridge until the start of your shift. " ( reply Ire) " Trip is your commanding officer as he is in charge of flight operations. I am unaware of the micro managed flight operations schedule on this ship. He is only looking out for your best interest and I understand you meant well in offering him a break but Trip had relief already avaliable to him on the bridge . I am going to reccomend to the admiral that the time you have served covering for Trip be deducted off of the end of your scheduled shift. Also while in command I am going to make sure Trips orders to you are enforced to the letter. When Trip returns you are restricted to off duty status until the beginning of your shift. " ~ I'm sorry man~ ( reply Ire) " I will permit you to finish covering for Trip , but he returns you are to leave the bridge immediately..." Ravok said to him ( Reply ire) Ravok took a deep breath. " I am sorry Ire but that is all ...you may return to the helm " he said to him as he walked past him and back out to the bridge and sat in the command chair ~ that's what that feels like.~ he thought to himself having to be so matter of fact with a good friend . ( reply Ire) ( posted by Davis) (USS Mystique – Deck 14, CSO's office – Intelligence Officer Ensign(jg) Jaelle Foxglove – 1324) "Is this correct? Feel free to say everything that is on your mind. I asked you here to help clear up the matter. I understand there may be some things you cannot divulge but if I am convinced of your sincerity then I should be able to convince Luma as well." Sekal spoke on typical Vulcan fashion. "If you can figure it out, then Luma should of. You see she doesn't want to come to term. She wants someone to punish, to take the blame. She made that point clear did she not?" (Reply Sekal) Jaelle crossed the room, she remembered how she accused her. No Luma was unreasonable and Jaelle had every right to hold her accountable for her actions. She sighed, "you can't convince someone who wont listen to reason." (Reply Sekal) (Posted by Matthew Locke) (USS Mystique – Deck 14, CSO's office – aACSO(R), Ensign Sekal – 1326) Jaelle gave a heavy sigh. "you can't convince someone who wont listen to reason." The Vulcan leaned back in his chair. "Yet there WAS a report which was forwarded to the Admiral's office from the security department acting chief which suggests that you WERE in StarFleet Intelligence before under another name. Do you deny this?" (Reply: Jaelle) He took another drink from the mug. "So you see now why I gave you the opportunity to expound on what seemed to be a misunderstanding but has turned into something more. This secrecy behind your career is the duplicity Luma referred to. (Reply: Jaelle) He shook his head slightly. "You feel that I am attacking you no doubt, that you were lured here under false pretenses but that is not the case. I, myself told Luma that some secrecy was necessary for those in your profession. My only purpose here is to get to the truth." "You told Luma you were forced back into Intelligence and I do not doubt this and I will not ask you what was being held over your head to insure your cooperation as I know you will not tell me." He leaned forward and clasped his hands upon the desktop. "My only concern is and has to be that you are working for the good of the Federation and not its enemies. Obviously your handlers believe they have enough on you to keep you in line and to keep you working toward this goal." He gave her a momentary look. "Would this be an accurate assessment?" (Reply:Jaelle) "And what would you do if you were suddenly freed from this servitude, return to your former life?" (Reply: Jaelle) "Just keep in mind Ensign....," emphasizing her title and not her name. "Those of us here are not your enemies and would help you if we could... if that is we were allowed. And as long as we are working toward the same goal I will do all in my power to insure that Luma will leave you in peace." He sat back in the chair then. "Is there anything else you would like to clarify?" (Reply: Jaelle) (Posted by Charles Gatling) (USS Mystique – Bridge – Pilot- Ensign JG – Ire Williams – 1327) " Ensign Rica , please relieve Ensign Willams at the helm. Ensign Williams meet me in the admirals ready room. Ensign Vex'ahlia...you have the bridge" ~What! Okay but we could have chatted later~ Ire paused for a moment then nodded to Rica who was standing next to him, he stood up and followed Ravok into the Admirals ready room. (Reply Vex'ahlia) He found Ravok standing there waiting for him as the doors closed behind him. He was about to ask Ravok if he was okay but Ravok spoke first. " Ire, had I known you didn’t previously work this coverage out with Trip I wouldn't of allowed you on the bridge until the start of your shift. " The concerned frown melted away and a neutral expression appeared on his face. ~Ow come on. Not this again II just had this from Trip. It was a break for prophets’ sake~ He sighed mentally at what Ravok was saying but let none of his thoughts cross his face. ~Dose everyone think that I am a child that needs hand holding~ “Yes Ravok.” "Trip is your commanding officer as he is in charge of flight operations. I am unaware of the micro managed flight operations schedule on this ship. He is only looking out for your best interest and I understand you meant well in offering him a break but Trip had relief already avaliable to him on the bridge…” ~It was a break. I am well over my sleep cycle for flying~ “…. I am going to recommend to the admiral that the time you have served covering for Trip be deducted off of the end of your scheduled shift….” ~For prophets’ sake I can do my shift just like Trip. I have been doing them just like him. I don’t need any special treatment. I am just a qualified to fly the Mystique as Trip. Just coz he got to be senor and I didn’t does not mean that I can’t do my job. I am an academy graduate and flew lead in Nova Squadron. I am not a total moreon. I know how to read a chrono I know what a work rest cycle is~ “…..Also while in command I am going to make sure Trips orders to you are enforced to the letter. When Trip returns you are restricted to off duty status until the beginning of your shift…” ~How dare you. I don’t need hand holding~ He forced himself to calm down or he would say something to his friend that he would regret. “Yes Ravok.” "I will permit you to finish covering for Trip , but he returns you are to leave the bridge immediately..." ~Ow thank you, that’s so magnanimous of you~ “Yes Ravok.” He watched as Ravok took a deep breath. " I am sorry Ire but that is all ...you may return to the helm " The anger inside Ire subsided as he heard Ravok apologise. ~I know Ravok but for prophet’s sake~ He nodded and watched Ravok leave the ready room. ~You better get back here Trip before I am classed as an utter incompetent and removed from flight status for offering you a brake~ He ran a hand through his hair. ~I need to go and fly the Endurance for a bit after this, that’s for sure~ He paused took a deep breath to centre himself. ~What did Aunty always say ‘Right then pack up your trouble and put your brain in first gear’~ He stepped back onto the bridge and headed for the helm. (Reply any) (Posted by Robbie) (USS Mystique – Deck 14, CSO's office – Intelligence Officer Ensign(jg) Jaelle Foxglove – 1331) "Yet there WAS a report which was forwarded to the Admiral's office from the security department acting chief which suggests that you WERE in StarFleet Intelligence before under another name. Do you deny this?" The Vulcan spoke as her leaned back into his chair. "Why should I." She answered sharply He took another drink from the mug. "So you see now why I gave you the opportunity to expound on what seemed to be a misunderstanding but has turned into something more. This secrecy behind your career is the duplicity Luma referred to. "What duplicity, we were both victims of programs undertaken by Starfleet intelligence. I figured it would give us some common ground. She did not want to listen. She did not care to look beyond her own hardship." She was getting angry Sekal should of never hard access to her past which were past his authority. Only the Adrmial should have had the ability to pull her full file. Even then several details were omitted due to Federation security protocols. He shook his head slightly. "You feel that I am attacking you no doubt, that you were lured here under false pretenses but that is not the case. I, myself told Luma that some secrecy was necessary for those in your profession. My only purpose here is to get to the truth." "You told Luma you were forced back into Intelligence and I do not doubt this and I will not ask you what was being held over your head to insure your cooperation as I know you will not tell me." 'Don't be to sure.' The simple fact was she loathed the Federation. It ate at her daily to put on a happy face. Ever since they left her to die. Just to uphold there precious neutrality. He leaned forward and clasped his hands upon the desktop. "My only concern is and has to be that you are working for the good of the Federation and not its enemies. Obviously your handlers believe they have enough on you to keep you in line and to keep you working toward this goal." He gave her a momentary look. "Would this be an accurate assessment?" "I dont answer to you." Jaelle responded bluntly. "And what would you do if you were suddenly freed from this servitude, return to your former life?" "One of them." She answered wishing she was far away from the darkness that was her life. She buried her past to start a new life, made a name for herself, it was a life she was proud of and now one she may never be able to return to. "Just keep in mind Ensign....," emphasizing her title and not her name. "Those of us here are not your enemies and would help you if we could... if that is we were allowed. And as long as we are working toward the same goal I will do all in my power to insure that Luma will leave you in peace." He sat back in the chair then. "Is there anything else you would like to clarify?" "First, how do know of my past, and how much do you know Ensign." She also Emphasized his rank, they were equal in rank even if he held some measure of authority over the science department. She was not in his chain of command and so they were still equal. The poor attempt of intimidation however was not lost on her. "Accessing security files slated for the Adrmial eye's only or those he designates is against security procedures and proper protocols. "As I stated before Luma provided me with all of the details available to her and I played back a portion of that interchange between the two of you. Sekal spoke however it was his next question that truly struck home "The question is.... is that what you want?" He asked simply. There was a change in her body as she softened her stance. 'What do I want...' the thought raged in her mind, rarely was it asked to someone like her. She was not to want but to obey to make someone else's desires a reality, not hers. "I will never have what I want..." she finally answered nearly choking back the feelings that welled up with in her. "I have no enmity toward Luma that she herself as not put there. (Reply any) (Posted by Gary Dupree) (USS Mystique – Deck 3, Holodecks – Petty Officer, Steven Hammons – 1600) Steven Hammons was whistling as he walked down the hall to stand before one of the holodecks. He was currently outfitted in sturdy hiking boots with camo pants and a light pull-over shirt. The hours had been long and the work hard but he had gotten permission to make use of one of these babies for a few hours and damn it if he wasn't going to blow off a little steam! Not in the way you might expect though, he was looking for a program that would challenge him. "Computer open a program for Petty Officer Steven Hammons." The voice of Luma came through the speakers. =^= What is the program the Hammons wishes to be run? =^= He jumped at bit at Luma's voice. It wasn't an AI voice but a self aware one and was taking some getting used to ...for everyone. "I want something different, I want a challenge. I've decided to make it the start of a survival game." =^= That is good, Luma wishes the Hammons to survive. There are many survival game programs in Lumas memory. Some are survival horror...=^= He made a retching sound. "No zombies for me this time, not a chance." Luma did not sound amused. "It is bad manners for the Hammons to interrupt Luma." His mind immediately went to the reports of 'Time outs' that were going around. "I am very sorry Luma for interrupting you. I apologize." He hoped that would get him out of trouble. =^=As Luma was saying there are horror or wilderness survival scenarios.=^= "Wilderness survival for sure." This is what he had come geared up for. He would grab some tools from the scenario and get rocking. He considered himself decent at woodcraft and the outdoors. This should be fun... Right? =^=What wilderness scenario does the Hammons wish?=^= He smiled. "The hell with it, surprise me Luma." Luma sounded amused. =^= Luma likes the surprises. The door will open when the program is ready.=^= There was silence for a moment then the door opened and he stepped into the lobby. The only gear he saw was a bed roll, two liters of water and an empty backpack. He shrugged his shoulders. "Eat what I find I guess but that's what I wanted." He grinned at that. After shouldering the gear he said. "All right Luma let's get this show on the road!" Suddenly he was sinking into a snowdrift somewhere in a wooded scape. The trees were stripped bare of leaves, the sun was playing peek-a-boo behind scuddering clouds and a blustery cold wind was cutting right through his light shirt. "Oh hell! What have I gotten myself into?" He gritted through suddenly chattering teeth. He would have to get a move on and find shelter quick, the cold was absolutely brutal. =^= Predators are disabled for the first twenty four hours of game time. Game time of one hour goes by in ten real time minutes. A twenty four hour period of game time takes four hours. Tools, clothing, food and weapons are scattered through the scenario randomly. Game is also available to hunt with the proper weapon.=^= He was already starting to shiver so he began looking for a road or power line. If he didn't find shelter soon this scenario would be over quick. (Reply: Anyone who wants to jump into THE LONG DARK) (Posted by Charles Gatling) (USS Mystique – Deck 3, Holodeck 2 – Petty Officer, Steven Hammons – 1610) He was on a sloping hillside that ran to a small, frozen creek and the snow was all around. As he turned toward the creek the corner of his eye caught the color of bare wood and he began making his way toward it. Fighting through the snow took more energy that normal and didn't really warm him up but he suppressed the desire to just start running off in a direction. In a real world survival scenario that could get you killed. The bare wood belonged to an overturned bench in a circular area like a small picnic ground. This was a good sign and as it was near the creek he continued following it, shivering in the harsh wind. He was leaving a trail in the snow a blind man could follow. =^= Condition at eighty five percent due to early symptoms of hypothermia. Finding shelter and warming up will decrease hypothermia risk but sleep is required to regain condition. =^= "Dang game rules!" He muttered as he passed some trees and crested the hill only to find a drop to another hill ahead. The frozen stream was still to his right. He struggled to crest the next rise but several minutes later was rewarded. Ahead of him was a frozen inland lake or bay and he could see two islands that he could walk to if the ice was thick enough. More to the point below him and following the bank to the left and right was a paved road with a power line following it. To the right was bridge over the stream he had been following and the the left was a stranded internal combustion vehicle or car. And beyond the car he could make out structures like small cabins in the distance. He didn't waste any time but started down the steep slope. He had to be careful not to turn an ankle or go sprawling since he would end up rolling painfully down. He got to the road and checked the car quickly, there was a pair of leather driving gloves in the glove compartment. "Better than nothing," he quipped as he put them on. His fingers had gotten numb and so had his ears. A head covering needed to be found. =^= Condition at fifty percent due to hypothermia. Safety protocols are in place and scenario will be halted before personal damage is taken.=^= He cursed and jumped out of the car then began jogging toward the structures he had seen. Running down the road was far faster than traveling over snow or ice. When he arrived at the cluster of buildings that looked like a small fishing camp the wind had picked up. =^= Condition at thirty five percent. =^= He ran straight for one and opened the door and rushed inside to shut the door. He was still chilled but was out of the wind and that helped a great deal. There was a queen sized bed to his right and a chest of drawers directly ahead. He made for it and the red and white toque with a red maple leaf emblazoned that was lying atop it which he immediately put over his head and ears. Going through the drawers netted a sweatshirt which he put on over his shirt. He found a granola bar on the floor behind a chair which he put in a pocket. Searching the other three cabins netted him a windbreaker and a pair of wool socks. He added all of this clothing to his frame then returned to the first cabin with the big bed. "Computer how does sleep and rest mode work?" =^= For sleep and rest mode state desired interval and scenario will be forwarded to that time period. Starvation, dehydration, disease and hypothermia due to weather related conditions out of doors may cause scenario death.=^= "Geez! You've gotta be kidding me!" Luma's voice came through then rather than the scenario file. =^= Scenario no jokes, the purpose of this scenario is to cause game deaths. Luma does not likes it.=^= "Well they didn't make it to be easy for sure." Just in case he drank about half a bottle of water. "Run a four hour sleep cycle." The lighting in the cabin changed to something like midday. =^= Condition eighty five percent.=^= "Much better, time to do some exploring." The road ran for some distance beyond these cabins appearing to circle the inlet. His searches had turned up cans of pork and beans and canned peaches, a pack of paper matches and a road flare. Also a work table beside one of the cabins had yielded a set of fishing tackle and he had found a hatchet beside an overturned canoe. He needed heavier clothing though and knew with what little he had found he couldn't stay here. Also there were huts out in the inlet atop the ice. Apparently these were for fishing and he would check them out later. He stepped to the door. "Off we go then." She did not feel Vex in the touch and Alaya's lips curved up. Alaya was well liked by Luma and the feeling was reciprocated. ::Yes Luma?:: Alaya sent, amused at the contact. Alaya heard her replicator make sounds, looking over as a pair of boots hit the floor followed by a lovely fur lined cloak. :: 'Laya needs to go to holodeck and rescue the Hammons. Wear what Luma gives you but come quickly. The Hammons is being the stupids and Luma likes him:: ::Rescue?:: Alaya toed off her ankle length ship boots and put on the thigh high, fur lined leather boots. Her feet began to sweat. ::He is being a male:: the ship huffed and Alaya laughed, grabbing the cloak. Soon enough she was standing in front of the holodeck, cloak on, hood pulled up. (USS Mystique – Deck 3, Holodeck 2 – COUNS Alaya Ravenstone – 1624) ::Luma enter me near him please.:: she directed. The doors opened and it was freezing. Alaya wondered what possessed her to do this in a dress as she walked into the deck and the doors closed behind her. There was a howl of wind and flakes hit the part of her face unshielded by the lushness of her cloak. A bedroll and a backpack were at her feet. Alaya had no intention of needing to use the bedroll but picked up the sack of supplies and gasped at the weight. Alaya was not the strongest person to begin with, and she did not know how much the pack weighed but apparently it was needed as she literally could not proceed without picking it up. ::Luma, guide me to that misbegotten male please:: Alaya knew this would be one of her strangest counseling sessions. She could feel it. Deep in her freezing aching bones as she headed across the road to where he was exiting a building. She kept the hood pulled around her face, shivering. "Petty Officer? Uh. Hammons? I'm Counselor Alaya Ravenstone and Luma sent me. She was quite worried about you.:: Alaya's teeth began to chatter and the pack began to fall off her shoulder from the weight before suddenly it was much lighter. Almost like she wasn't carrying anything. Luma was not playing by the rules since somehow she, in a dress, was better suited to the weather with the thigh high fur lined boots which were thankfully insulated and the lovely, warm cloak. For some reason Luma wanted her here. The question was why. "Maybe we can find a place out of the freezing cold to talk?" She asked hopefully, snowflakes dotting her dark eyelashes as she looked up at the male. (reply Hammons, any) (posted by Mel) (USS Mystique – Deck 3, Holodeck 2 - PO, Steven Hammons – 1625) He was exiting the small, one room cabin. As he turned he saw someone moving toward him and she was much better dressed for the weather than he was. "Petty Officer? Uh. Hammons? I'm Counselor Alaya Ravenstone and Luma sent me. She was quite worried about you." She had a pack slung over one shoulder that was slipping down, he hurried toward her to help her with it. He grabbed the strap and flipped it over his left shoulder. "Maybe we can find a place out of the freezing cold to talk?" She gave him a hopeful look. He grabbed her bed roll with his right hand and pointed to the cabin he had just left. "Come with me, we can talk inside." (Reply: Alaya) He carried her gear with him, his own bedroll was tied to his backpack. Once the two were safely inside he dropped everything on the bed then looked at her with amusement in his eyes. "You said Luma sent you?" He remembered what she had said about not liking the program since it was set up with the intent of causing character deaths then started laughing. "She is worried about me 'surviving' I take it, we have already discussed this." (Reply: Alaya) He shook his head while grinning. "I wanted a survival challenge that would really tax me, push me to the limit and Luma picked a good one. I hadn't anticipated a cold weather environment with so little gear to start out with." (Reply: Alaya) He chuckled. "The deaths aren't real, they're simulated. The program will call the game on me before I get into any actual danger. Since Luma sent me a care package let's see what we've got even though it probably should be considered cheating." He chuckled again at the thought as he opened the pack and went through it. He pulled out a heavy sweater and a balaclava which was a fancy name for a ski mask. It was wool, thick and warm. The toque fit comfortable over it. The sweater was also wool and thick and he started to warm up almost instantly after putting it on. A pair of wool mittens that looked warm as heck and a pair of climbing socks were in the pack as well along with a cooking pot, a box of wooden matches, three liters of water, a can opener and several cans of food. He looked up at her with a sudden realization after inventorying his stash. "Wait a minute, Luma could have easily dropped this in on me at any point, why did she send you in here with it? I can see this type of scenario is something you may not like." (Reply: Alaya) (Posted by Charles Gatling) (USS Mystique - Holodeck - Ensign JG Billy Alexander and Ensign JG Erin Cortez - 1900) Having already set the holodeck to run her program, Erin stepped through the doors and instantly felt a sense of calm. The program she was running was a near perfect representation of her parents' home outside of Santiago. Nestled in the countryside, the warmth of the breeze made her smile as she walked the small path up to the house. Knowing she had some time before Billy arrived, she had already set the computer to replicate the things she needed. Lost in her thoughts, he almost walked into the old man walking from the house towards her. "Watch out there, Miss." Stopping suddenly, Erin smiled widely. "Luis, como va la vida?" He shook his head and, with a laugh, replied, "Life is going. Are you expecting someone?" "Not for a little while. Did the food and everything get here?" Luis tipped his flat cap, "It did. Can I assume this means you will be cooking?" Winking, Erin put a hand tenderly on his shoulder, "Yes." "Then I will stay out of your way. I know what you are like when you get in the kitchen." Laughing, she patted his shoulder and headed towards the house. Stopping, she turned back and said, "Hey Luis?" "Yes, miss?" "Send my guest into the kitchen when he gets here and don't be too mean to him." "Him?" He replied with a look. "Yes him." She smiled and went into the house. Luis sat down on a bench by the house, closed his eyes and sighed, "Poor guy. I hope he knows what he is in for." Billy arrived at the holodeck in a bit of a rush. He was still in uniform as it had taken him a little bit longer than usual to sort through the Admiral’s inbox as well as prioritize which status updates he should read first. He would have been done sooner but he got sidetracked talking to the Admiral’s yeoman, Jenny, about the latest Martian gossip. As he ran towards what he hoped was where he was supposed to go he ran across a man on a bench Luis, looking out from under his cap, fixed the young man with a stare, "So, you're the brave soul then?" “Brave soul?” Billy asked inquisitively. "Brave soul that goes near the kitchen when Miss Erin is cooking. " he replied with a wink. Looking towards the door, the steady beat of music could be heard. "She's asked me to give you this. Said you should give it to her later if you want to. Said you would understand. ``Luis reached down beside him and handed the young man a flower. "Lapageria. We grow them here." “Thank you, I guess.” Billy took the flower, nodded his head, and made his way to the door. In the kitchen, Erin couldn't hear anything but the music. Feeling happy and dancing to the beat whilst she cooked, she threw some peppers in the pan. Feeling comfortable and utterly at peace with herself, she continued to cook and dance around the kitchen, utterly oblivious to anything, lost in her own world. “I hope your cooking skills are better than your dancing skills.” Billy said with a chuckle. Blushing, Erin turned and smiled. “Hey I have moves you know.” “I also hope you’re not preparing me holographic food. I don’t think that is quite as filling as you’d think.” Shaking her head with a chuckle, “No, all organic. Helps when you have a friend in Hydroponics who grows their own fruit and vegetables.” Turning back to the cooker, she turned off the heat and began to plate up her dish, “Anyways, sorry I’m late. I heard the most interesting gossip today from the Admiral’s yeoman Jenny.” “Oh? And if this has anything to do with that person streaking through the civilian area, it wasn’t me before you get any ideas.” “Apparently the ex boyfriend of Chief Petty Officer Dana Cruz, from radiology, anyways, he’s on Mars. I think it's a temporary assignment to help with some research stuff. Anyways apparently he is a real asshole. More so than that Russian Pilot my cousin slept with.” “Oh? Cruz is not gonna like that he’s on Mars.” "Eh, she'll just have to get over it. Exes have just as much right to exist and have a career as anybody else. No matter how much you don't like them." ~do they? I … don't… if that's how he feels, how is he gonna react…..~ Turning back to him, She fixed a smile on her face and raised her eyebrow, “I wouldn’t have pegged you as one for gossip.” "I don't seek it out. It finds me." “It doesn’t really matter, if I remember correctly, this is my night so let’s leave the gossip at the door. I believe it’s my turn to find out about you.” She replied with a wink. "I'm an open book. So do your worst." Smiling, Erin played up some food and put it on the table in the kitchen. ~damn… he is kind of …. Cute…~ "So, tell me something. You grew up in Texas right?" "Actually, no. I grew up in San Francisco. We summer in Texas though. Have property there. Maybe that's where the confusion comes from." "You miss it?" Freedom, open skies. Yeah, I miss it. Texas is, not San Francisco." "Certainly isn't. I understand. This house is a replica of my parents' house in Santiago. Just enough outside of the city that you miss the bright lights and noise but close enough to find them if you want to." “Makes sense, close to the suburbs, but a little bit further away to feel free.” "You hungry? " she asked, handing him a plate of food. “Always.” "This is a dish my grandmother taught me. It's actually mexican but… one of my favourites. Be warned, it's pretty…. Spicy." Billy smiled, “I grew up eating spicy stuff, I’m fine.” Billy took a bite, letting the flavors dance on his tongue. It was spicy, but about a 7 on his 10 point scale but nothing too troubling. "Molé, chicken mainly. The sauce is an old Cortes family recipe. " “Nice, love family recipes. We’ve got one in my family for a chili that will blow your socks off.” "Now there's a threat." She laughed heartily. "Tell me…" she began, taking a mouthful of food, "Why did you join Starfleet?" “Because I was a lousy birthday clown.” Billy said with a laugh. Erin cocked her head for a split second and then laughed, "No seriously. " “I guess you could say it is the family business so to speak. I mean I probably could have had more actual success in a private sector job. But I did well on my entrance exams, well, I did well enough. I got in based on my own merits. Worked hard, got decent enough grades, did better on human resources stuff then on engineering, but I knew in my heart of hearts I would be more fulfilled as a lieutenant senior grade in starfleet for my whole career than I ever would have been as the head of human resources for a large private corporation.” Billy paused and smiled. “My dad’s paternal side of the family were into civilian university administration or were attorneys. But my dad’s maternal side of the family and my mom’s paternal side of the family have a military history stretching back centuries. Both have been in Starfleet since the beginning, since before the Federation was even a thing. An uninterrupted line. And yeah, my older brother is in Starfleet so I mean, the line would not have been broken, but I kind of wanted to carry it on. You know, I grew up around it. Starfleet is home. It is what I know, and I want to see it be reborn ya know.” ~ wow, passionate. About his family and Starfleet. Definitely a plus~ “What about you?” "Oh me…. I joined because my career as a stripper failed miserably. "She winked. "Time bomb is a terrible stripper name. No seriously what's the real story." "Tonight isn't about me. You know a lot about me now. My turn big boy." She grinned "If you say so." "So, I do have a question." "Fire away." "If you could do one moment in life all over again, what would it be?" "That's easy. The night in the Sands when I offered you the deal." Raising her eyebrow, "Oh really. Mind if I ask why?" "30 dates. With you. It was a mistake. Shouldn't have offered it." Billy moved over towards her. Looking at him, she smirked slightly, "Having second thoughts already…. Good to know where I stand…." "Yeah. Third and fourth thoughts too. I'm sorry but this deal just isn't working for me." "Oh?" "It's over, I'm sorry. But I'm backing out. It was a stupid idea and a mistake." Taking a sharp breath, Erin nodded slightly, ~wasn't expecting that… well, that's that then~ Billy approached Erin and placed his hand on her shoulder. "I was never going to make it through all 30. Not by a long shot. But I thought you'd at least get me to make it to 5." Looking at him, she sighed, "Well, I'm sorry too. " Billy then wrapped his free hand around her waist and pulled her in close into a gentle, warm, romantic kiss. ~oh…. Damn boy~ Erin placed her arms around his neck and kissed him softly back, then pulled away and looked at him, "I really should hate you for making me think you were never gonna do that." She smiled softly. "I wanted to make it through all the dates. My intentions were noble. Making you think I was leaving though was my final prank." "Well, it nearly worked." She smiled, "Thankfully my mother didn't raise a fool and my dad…. Well, he taught me to take care of myself. " "There's no holographic versions of your parent's home here right?" "No…. I mean even if there were, it's my program… I can delete or add anything." She smiled and winked "Tell you what then, I still owe you questions. You get five, and if you like the answers and want me around you can do whatever you want with me for the rest of the evening. If you don't like them, kiss me goodnight after question five and I'll be out of your hair." "Sounds fair, However I am making a change to the deal. If, and I stress if, you make it through 5 questions and I like your answers, then i will kiss you in a way that will leave you breathless. I don't… you know… this early on. If I kiss you on the cheek then it's a no from me. Deal?" "Well I wasn't meaning sex. We're in a holodeck. I was letting you pick the program you silly mongoose." Erin laughed. Blushing badly, "Sorry, I suck at this. Been a long time since anyone has shown an interest." She let go of his neck and turned back to grab a drink. "So what's the first question oh empress of sass?" Pouring them both a drink, she handed a glass of red wine to him, "Not bourbon, sorry. First question…. Are you honourable?" "That's an odd question to ask. Well I'll never treat you wrong. I won't cheat. I won't force you to do anything you don't want to. I'll lie to you because I'm human, but never maliciously. I believe in honor, love, and truth." ~okay, definite pass on that..~ "Good answer, and nice recovery with the lying thing. So, number 2…." Taking a sip of her wine she thought for a second then smiled, "Who gave you Tort the Tuga?" "I got him on a trip to Hawaii. Hotel gift shop. I thought he was cute. Asked if I could have him. Mom said no. My grandpa got him for me anyways." ~okay, already knew he was family minded but that is sweet~ " Three, you know I have regrets in my life, my past. Do you?" "There are things I wish I had done differently. Do I regret them? Maybe. But not really. Everything I've done or had done to me has made me. I wouldn't be the me that I am had I not experienced them. And I like myself. So no, no regrets." ~he has a point. But… focus girl~ "That's an emotionally healthy way to look at things. " she replied, suddenly blushing, "Sorry, sometimes the counselor in me just gets out." "Sounds sexy." She smirked, "Four, this might not seem like it means anything but it does to me. Okay? "Fire at Will." Smirking, erin laughed, "Okay, why the pranks? I mean, what the hell were we doing, we're adults right?" "I'm terrible at flirting. Plus you were so cute. Also you started it." "I did not….. oh wait…. I did didn't I?" She laughed and smiled widely "Yup. You Thought I had security detain you, which I did not by the way. Then you put salt in my coffee to retaliate and laughed at me. Openly laughed at me." Billy then smiled, "jokes on you though. Because I won the prank war." "You know what?" she smiled, moving closer to him. "What?" "Doesn't matter, I have my answer. If you want to know that is…" "Answer to what? Question 5? You haven't asked about it yet." Putting Her arms around his waist, she smiled softly, "Okay, fine. Question 5. You once made comments about consent, that night in the bar when you fell off the bar stool…" "Yes and I should have asked to kiss you earlier." "Well, I'm asking this time. Can I?" "Is that question five?" "Yes although I think, technically I may have asked more than 5 questions…" She smiled widely. Peeking through the doorway he noticed a living room with a long sofa. Taking her by the hand he walked her into the room and playfully tickled her as he then sat down. "If you're going to take my breath away, then I want to be sitting down on something soft." Laughing, she smiled as she sat next to him. "Oh and the answer is yes." "Good… " taking his hand in hers, she looked into his eyes and smiled. Putting a hand on his face, she brushed a hair away from his forehead and kissed him, softly. Pulling her closer he returned the kiss with vigor and passion. Then placing one hand behind her head and the other on her back, he lowered her gently onto her back before releasing the kiss. Looking Up at him, she took a sharp breath, eyes widening, she saw his face, the smirk he had right before he hit… she began to fight, swinging her arms around, "No…. Stop…." Billy stopped for a moment. “I’m sorry, I thought this was ok. I’m sorry.” Not hearing him, she swung for him, pushing him off her, " Christian no….." Billy did his best to dodge the swing and when he was being pushed off he got up and moved away from the couch. “Erin, what’s wrong. Who’s Christian?” Shaking, she ran to the window, shaking and breathing fast. Trying to calm herself, Erin put one hand on the pane of glass and closed her eyes. “Erin,” Billy said as he stood next to her and put his hand on her shoulder. Are you ok?” "I'm sorry…. I haven't… had an episode like that for a while." “It’s ok things happen.” Wiping her eyes, she turned to face him, "Still want to be with me now? Warts and all so to speak? Cause this is me. I freak out, I struggle … I fight all the time…" “Typical,” Billy said with a smirk. Smiling back, she hit him playfully. “You know all you folks in the helping professions are the same, you know that? It’s kind of frustrating really.” "Oh, do tell mister mind reader." “You tell us all what is wrong with us, you are there day in and day out. You spend your whole life helping people, making them feel better, be stronger. But you don’t practice what you preach.” Erin, opened her mouth to retort, then realising he was right, sighed, "You're right. We're our own worst enemies. " “But when it comes to your trauma, your pain, your darkness, you bottle up. You don’t do what you tell us to do. You don’t bring others in, you don’t let others help. And then you let it boil, and it becomes a breaking point. Take your own advice. Let others in. Don’t carry this by yourself and don’t think I’m gonna leave because you’re apparently damaged. For crying out loud, what would you tell yourself if you were a patient? "I'd probably tell them…." “Stop, you can take some time to think about it, but look, you had an abusive ex, I get it, and it sucks, but I’m not going anywhere just because he probably convinced you that no one will ever love you. And you cut people out before they get the chance to know. I don’t know what will happen, or if I will ever love you, but if I don’t it's because it just wasn’t meant to be, not because no one will ever love you.” ~wow… he's blunt. But, in all honesty, he's right~ “Sorry that was harsh, but Erin, look, whatever is bothering you, get help, see a professional, let someone in. Too many doctors, counselors, those who spend their lives helping others, don’t adequately deal with their own shit, because they’re too busy with others, they don’t take their own advice. Too many of them become alcoholics, spiral into depression, or commit suicide. I don’t want that to happen to you.” Smiling, she looked up at him, "You have nothing to worry about, but I will take your advice." Placing a hand on his shoulder, she smiled, "That I can promise you. I have known people that have gone down that road and have not come out the other end. That isn't going to be me. Not ever. But, the one thing I can definitely promise you is this. I don't know where this is going but I would like to find out, if you want to that is?" “What do I need to do to show that I’m not going anywhere?” Smiling softly, she kissed him lightly on the cheek. "Nothing. Just allow me some eccentricities every now and then." Billy smiled and kissed her on the lips softly. "Do you want to talk about it? Or we could walk back to my place and see where the night takes us." Smiling at him, erin bit her lip lightly, "As much as that offer is incredibly tempting.. you said something that struck a chord with me. You were right when you said I need to be… well, to work out some things shall we say." "We all have our demons." "However, if the offer of seeing the inner sanctum of the flash is still on offer… then I would like that. No funny business mind you. I am a lady after all." She replied with a wink. "I wouldn't dream of it." (Reply none) (Posted by will and Jackie)
