The large graze that had covered the length of his forearm was slowly disappearing. "You really should wear protective clothing if you are going to.." she consulted the PADD on the biobed "...play roller derby, even on a holodeck." She said as she switched her attention to the large bruise on his shoulder. She manipulated the instrument in her hand to speed up the reabsorption process of the body to remove the bruise and the swelling surrounding it. The young medical orderly looked very sheepish as he sat their enduring her scowls and lectures. She was about to start lecturing him again on good safety practices when the alert claxon sounded. "All hands, this is the Bridge, the ship is about to enter the test area, over the next few hours, all departments will be tested but the exact nature of those tests is random, these include tactical, engineering, medical, science and other unknown elements. including a live fire exercise. As result, we are now going to Red Alert. Bridge out.", The lights in the sickbay dimmed slightly and the red alert siren sounded. "Ok, crewman. Back to work." Mavish, looking relieved, scuttled away quickly. She tapped her commbadge. "Anderson, to all medical teams, report to sickbay immediately." She made her way to the storage cupboard in preparation to start handing out emergency medkits to the teams who would soon start arriving. She picked up the first kit and as she did the ship rocked and she grabbed the cupboard to stop herself from falling. =^=Bridge to Sickbay, prepare for the transport of survivors and wounded, we'll be in transporter range within 5 minutes.=^= "Acknowledged" she replied as she began to hand out the kits. Their plan was to station emergency teams at strategic positions around the ship to get to the wounded quickly and stabilise them. A specially trained triage team was established in the closest holodeck in case of injuries on a massive scale and 3 teams were in sickbay to deal with the injuries as they arrived. They were ready, she knew it. Suddenly the lights went out, and a red glow suffused the room. The dim emergency lighting was slow to activate. ~They make their simulations pretty real out here!~ she thought. Sickbay didn't come with any windows being in the centre of the ship and she wished that were not so as the ship rocked again. =^=Sickbay. Lono here=^= "Yes Lieutenant" she replied. =^=I've transferred the new ETA and scans of the other, the real, Endeavour to your terminal.=^= ~The "real" Endeavour??~ "Acknowledged. Sickbay is standing-by" Rain communicated this news to all of the teams and then went to help a young engineer who was being bought in unconscious. Apparently his grip on a ladder hadn't been as good as it should have been when the ship lurched for the first time. (Reply Lono, sickbay, any) (Posted by Wendy Keen) <> ----------------------- Headers -------------------------------- (USS Spectre: Bridge - TAC/SC Pierce Orde - 1507) Pierce checked his tactical sensors again. It couldn't be true -- the 'Endeavour' had no shields up. Perhaps... "Captain, recommend we send a team over to that ship and take it. It'll give us another ship to play with," he said. (Reply Remae) Pierce tapped his comm. "Ensign Rak'han, get yourself and a team down to the transporter room -- you're going to capture a ship for us." (Reply Rak'han) "Signal when ready -- Orde out." (Reply Remae, Rak'han, any) (Posted by Lenox) (USS Spectre: Personal Quarters - Asst.TAC Saurik Rak'han - 1507) =/\= Ensign Rak'han, get yourself and a team down to the transporter room -- you're going to capture a ship for us. =/\= The half-breed slipped easily out of his trance and responded camly to the communication, "Aye sir. On my way." He extinguished the candles that surrounded him and strode over to a desk, tapping his commbadge as he did, "Lt George Orde and Crewman Tanner report to Away Team Staging Area." (reply G.Orde) He opened a draw and pulled out a long strip of a leather-like material, pulling it slighty before curling it up in a belt-puch, "Crewmen Du'Vash and Krall please report to Away Team Staging Area." The half-breed headed out of his quarters into the corridor, ignoring the flashing red lights that dotted the corridor. He stepped into the tubolift and directed it to the Away Team Staging Area - the two Security Crewmen were already there, but the two engineers had yet to arrive: they'd have longer to travel. Saurik nodded to the two Humans and headed for the weapons locker, whispering his security code into it and surveying his options before hitting his commbadge, "Rak'han to Orde, request permission to break out the Type-IVs due to unknown enemy." (reply P.Orde,G.Orde) (posted by Owen) _________________________________________________________________ (USS Spectre, Bridge, CO, Captain Remae Ktell - 15.08) The Spectre veered sharply as the order to sidestep the closer Endeavour, another one was several minutes away, with the ship still under attack by target drones, phaser fire and torpedoes were still flying in all directions. "Captain, recommend we send a team over to that ship and take it. It'll give us another ship to play with.", said Pierce, still at the controls of the Tactical Station, attacking the remote controlled target drones. "Play with, Lieutenant? Sounds like fun, do it.", said Remae, returning his field of view to the main viewscreen, as the last of the drones were eliminated, at least, for now. "Ensign Rak'han, get yourself and a team down to the transporter room -- you're going to capture a ship for us.", said the Second Officer, ordering his Assistant. A few moments later, Remae ordered the Spectre to close within transporter range of the closer Endeavour, which was still firing at them, but it was no match for the Spectre. "Disable their weapons, Pierce.", ordered the Captain, as the Spectre closed on their position. =^= Transporter Room Two to the Bridge, we're unable to use the transporter without main power. =^= "Understood, Bridge to Rak'han, take your team over in a shuttle, we'll cover you until you are secure. Captain out.", said Remae, as he ordered the ship even closer to the target ship in order to give the shuttle the least distance to travel. "As soon as the shuttle is launched, we're going to head for the other Endeavour to rescue survivors and then return. CONN, lay in the course. Lieutenant Lono, can you advise Sickbay of our new ETA and some long range scans of that other ship.", said Remae and then he turned to Pierce once more. "Damage report?", he asked, waiting for a complete list of all systems, how damaged they were was going to influence how he dealt with whatever the base had planned for them next. (Reply from Lono, Orde, Rak'han, Any) (Posted by Anthony Keen) --------------- Freedom Squadron, a Star Trek email adventure www.freedom-squadron.com (USS Spectre: Bridge - TAC/SC Pierce Orde - 15.08) Orde played his hands over the console like a virtuoso, sending surgical phaser strikes in to punch a hole in the enemy ship's shields and knock its weapons offline. A few strikes later, and he had its portside weapons offline. "Their portside weapons are disabled, and there's a gap in their shields," he reported. A moment later, he heard the captain call for a damage report. "Sir, shields are down to 45%, we're down a photon tube and the starboard phaser arrays. Warp is still off-line Life-support is still good to go, though, and there are no hull breaches reported," Pierce replied quickly. (Reply Remae, any) (Posted by Lenox) (USS Spectre, Bridge, Kahila Lono, 15:10) Kahila took her gaze from the viewscreen-- showing the attacking drones being met with phaser fire from the Spectre's tactical station-- when Captain Remae said: "As soon as the shuttle is launched, we're going to head for the other Endeavour to rescue survivors and then return. CONN, lay in the course. Lieutenant Lono, can you advise Sickbay of our new ETA and some long range scans of that other ship.", then he turned to Pierce once more. Kahila clicked the console on her chair arm to connect with CONN. As Lt. Wilson punched in the coordinates, Kahila downloaded the information into a PADD. Then she tapped her keyboard for scans of the Endeavour, and transferred those to the PADD. She tapped the connection for Sickbay and uploaded the PADD to their terminal. She tapped her combadge, saying, "Sickbay. Lono here." reply Sickbay "I've transferred the new ETA and scans of the other, the real, Endeavour to your terminal." (reply Sickbay, anyone on Bridge) (posted by Josephine Goodman) (USS Spectre, Bridge, Kahila Lono, 15:15) Kahila moved her glance between the viewscreen showing the enemy ship with its phaser damage, and the reports scrolling across her chair-arm display. She listened as Pierce reported the damages inflicted on the false Endeavour. ~I'll touch base with Engineering. The Captain will need to know how they're progressing.~ She tapped her com-badge. "Engineering. Lono here. Could I have a short report on the status of the warp core?" (reply Longfellow) (posted by Josephine Goodman) <> (USS Spectre, Bridge, Kahila Lono, 15.18) Kahila wondered, ~Could there be anyone in that false-Endeavour ship? Surely not, if this is just a test. And it is just a test -- I suppose.~ Then she tapped her com-badge, and said, "Kahila lono here. Ensign Rak'han, is your team ready for shuttle launch?" reply Rak'han (posted by Josephine Goodman) (USS Spectre - Sickbay - ACMO Anderson - 20.08) "Excellent work Rain. I knew I could depend on you to pull it off. Now..." Dr Cambridge stretched as he leaned back in his chair. He then sat forward over the desk and began firing questions at her. "How are you? How has the transition from Starbase to Starship treating you? Anyone on this boat causing you trouble? Sleeping well?" Rain couldn't help but smile at the quick-fire questions. It sounded a lot like her father. "I'm fine, good actually. I'm enjoying the challenge of helping to get this ship ready for a mission and am very much looking forward to what lays ahead. My recent near-death experience has made me feel a lot better about certain things and one of them is my career. As for anyone causing me trouble.... not even a little bit. And I'm sleeping just fine too!" she said with a smile. "What about you DR Cambridge, are you sleeping well?" (Reply Cambridge) (Posted by Wendy Keen) <>
