"stay with me Erin" he said to himself. He grabbed a hypospray to sedate her this way her body could rest. He moved his hand over to the dermalregenirator and started to use it on her bleeding wounds. The smell was getting to him not just the fact that it was blood but because it was Erin's blood. he was careful and meticulous to not miss any spots and make sure the wound was finished bleeding before cleaning it. After that the last one was finished he looked around and noticed a nurse who was free. "Bring me the osteoginic stimulator" said TJ as he looked her over. After what seemed like ages the nurse came back over and he took the stimulator and started to use it on her arm. Tj tried not to panic and to keep his mind under control, unlike other crew mates he had stronger feelings for Erin. He took a deep breath after he finished with the simulator. "we need to get her in to a Medical chamber, i want to know every injury her body is currently suffering from." said TJ as he moved over to the chamber and opened the front then two nurses moved her into it. once she was in he shut the door and started the scan. (Reply Erin if you want) (Posted by Andrew Rock) (USS Spectre - Science lab 2 - CSO LT.jg Kurt Palmer – 12:09) The science chief looked intently at his console screen. Seated forward arms crossed, brow furrowed he puzzled while running final simulations for the probe alterations. =/\=Williams to Palmer,=/\= Came a voice through the comms, taking Kurt out of his hypothetical thoughts. “Go ahead.” He replied, mind clearing as he tried to decipher which officer Williams he was speaking with. Within a few words he realized he was chatting with the chief engineer =/\=I want to find out how long it has been derelict, how old is it. We think we have encountered some kind of weapon. But how ancient of a weapon. This could be a new threat...=/\= the engineer’s voice continued. “I see.” Kurt paused to slide over to the next console. =/\=I mean how many times has Starfleet encountered some ancient weapon and end up in situations like this.=/\= He continued to explain the timeline could key them into what exactly they were dealing with. “I like where your head is at commander.” Kurt patched into the main sensors. “The more we know the more prepared we can be.” =/\=And if that is the case, we may be able to find information on board the derelict on how they combatted the threat and add that to our research.=/\= “Acknowledged.” Kurt added before the comm chimed off. ~let’s see what’s out there~ The sensors had been patched through, and he began analyzing as the information readout sprang to life. (Reply, none) ((Post by Cody)) (USS Spectre - FO'S Office - ACMO Ensign (jg) Tj Rivers - 14:01) Tj watched as Commander Williams scanned the first officer. He took note of her body and the way she was laying and he didn't see many wounds. "Yes sir" he replied to LTC Duke williams when he was told to make sure they did everything they would to her her. After Duke walked away Commander Williams handed him the tricorder he took it and looked at it and was puzzled. "we have to be missing something here sir" Her brain appeared to be active she just was waking up. "Let's get her back to sickbay for a more in-depth scan" "Yes sir" “CMO Williams to transporter room one I need a medical emergency site to site transport from my location to sickbay for three people.” =^=Understood Dr Williams site to site transport three people from your location to sickbay=^= “Correct. Transport when ready.” =^= Energising now=^= (Reply Any) (Posted by Andrew Rock) (USS Spectre - Battle Bridge - Ens Thibodeaux - 14:02) "The captain will decide which sails to furl or unfurl, depending on the situation on which weapon would be best to use. We will compute the angles for furling and unfurling and the time it takes to change the sail settings." "Sounds good. You know we could install an automatic override, for example if weapons are powering up in line of fire of the sails that will automatically furl the sails." "Good point. There should be a an automatic overide to keep us from firing through the sail. But an over ride just in case the situation demands it. I think that the sails should be controlled at either the conn or the engineers station." "Makes sense, wouldn't want to rely too much on automation. Especially if we have more issues with system failure." "I think once we get these computations, we can take our findings to Commander Williams and the captain." "Yeah, shouldn't take too long, we can set it up that the computer does most of the work." (reply Darpeg) "By the way, what made you think of using solar sails?" Not very efficient." replied Darpeg "By the way, what made you think of using solar sails?" I was looking into alternative methods of warp propulsion, and came across the Bajoran sail ships. The most recent was Captain Sisko's. It was cross referenced with the solar sail devised by the Yorktown during the Whale probe of over a hundred years ago." There might be some reason for her unconsciousness that may not have thought of.” said Dr Williams "Yes sir, If i may suggest we should pay extra attention to her brain just because its active doesn't mean we don't have some damage or swelling causing the issue." Said Tj as he moved away to prepare for the scan. He really hated brain injures there was always some unexpected complication that cropped up. “Okay, as you suggested lets get a deep scan of her cortex and see what we can see.” "We are ready sir" “Okay lets go front to back. Even though that statement of thanks was illogical, and honor did demand it, Darpeg said it to satisfy Human courtesy "I wish you the best of luck. It has been a pleasure." "Luck is illogical, but satisfying honor is pleasurable. Q'plah. Live long and prosper." Ryan nodded and then left the battle bridge. Darpeg then went to work on the programming for the replicators in making the solar sail when he heard an announcement over his commbadge, "Lt. Commander Williams to Lt. Kerge, Lt. Palmer, Ensign Robert Smith, Ensign Drake, Ensign, Darpeg, and Ensign Rivers. Please meet me in the Conference room at 15.20 hours." He then saved his work on a data crystal and left the battle bridge as soon as an NRPG ensign arrived to relieve him and went to the conference room. Williams and Ensign Drake were already there. "Greetings." stated Darpeg in the Human fashion. (reply Williams, Drake) He then said to Williams as he handed the crystal to him, "This contains the data on the solar sail that you may peruse at your leisure. It is logical to assume that this coming meeting is on a different matter." Not to mention the weird dream he had the night before that felt like someone invading his mind. Heavily featuring the first officer, who just happened to have a duplicate. =/\= "Ensign Drake to Lt Cmdr Duke Williams.=/\= "Williams here, go ahead Drake." =/\=Letting you know sir I tried finding others using the internal sensors through the computer, but there seems to be something blocking them. Be on the look out for anyone suspicious, And be careful." =/\=Drake out.=/\= Duke was concerned about was happening, and he needed to get to the bottom of it, it was eating at him, and he didn't know who to trust. "Commander Williams to Chief Chandler," Duke knew one person he could trust, Senior Chief Petty Officer Michael Chandler, he had been enlisted in Starfleet for 20 years and was a the senior most enlisted personnel in the engineering department, and a valuable advisor. (Reply Chandler) "I need you to check the internal sensors log, get back to me with any errors. Duke out." (Reply Chandler) (reply chandler) (posted by WB) (USS Spectre - Main Engineering - SCPO, Michael Chandler - 14:22) Senior Chief Petty Officer Michael Chandler had been around the block. A twenty year veteran of Starfleet, he had served on many vessels all around the fleet. He had seen young Chief Engineers thrive and veteran engineers have nervous breakdowns. He had seen Captains triumph, and captains learn from the sting of defeat. Of all the ships he had served on, the Spectre was his favorite. So whenever she was in trouble he did, he wanted to do whatever he could to help. =/'\=Commander Williams to Chief Chandler,=/\= "This is Chandler, go ahead." =/\=I need you to check the internal sensors log, get back to me with any errors. Duke out.=/\= "Aye sir," Chandler replied as he then went over to the nearest console to check the internal sensors. As he began probing the logs, he began to see that there was some discrepancies. Someone had done a crude altering of the system to not be able to give an accurate read out of how many people were currently on the Spectre. It could give the exact location of individuals, but not how many currently where on board. There was a rudimentary hack that was preventing the internal sensors from accurately logging how many people where on the ship. It could be an easy fix, but he would need to track down where and when the change was made to figure out if it was a man made error or something worse. After a quick search he had his answer. "Senior Chief Chandler to Lieutenant Palmer, please come in." (Reply Palmer) "Lieutenant Palmer, there is a matter I need to discuss with you." (Reply Palmer) "It seems that one of your science officers in the main lab used a terminal to mess with the internal sensors." (reply Palmer) "They scrambled it so that the sensors don't give an accurate readout of how many people are currently on board." He was deciphering the ship’s deck readouts when the comms chimed for him. =/\=Lieutenant Palmer, there is a matter I need to discuss with you.=/\= “Go ahead Chandler” He replied shifting a couple PADDs around in front of him. =/\=It seems that one of your science officers in the main lab used a terminal to mess with the internal sensors.=/\= ~My science officers?~ “I’m not aware of activity in that lab.” He replied. “What exactly has happened?” He slid over to the next terminal to pull up the dutyshifts for the day. =/\=They scrambled it so that the sensors don't give an accurate readout of how many people are currently on board.=/\= “I see.” He replied, scrolling through the readout in front of him. =/\=Did you authorize anyone to mess with internal sensors?=/\= Kurt recoiled “I don’t have anyone on schedule to ‘mess’ with internal sensors.” He replied with a slight bit of resentment at the suggestion. “We were running routine monthly diagnostics this morning, however.” The science chief realized his workload was about to double, as he put two and two together. He sighed “give me ten minutes, I’ll go talk to the team over there.” (Reply, Chandler IYW) “Palmer out.” He closed the comm, and downloaded the diagnostic team’s names to another PADD. The computer chimed to signal the download had initiated, and he rolled his chair back over to his report. ~where was I....~ (Reply, Chandler IYW) ((Post by Cody)) (USS Spectre - Captain Ready Room - CEO Duke Williams - 14:25) Duke waited to be buzzed in and then slowly entered the Captain's ready room. He didn't want to be over eager, trip, and break his other wrist. "Pardon the interruption sir, but I need to share with you some concerning news." The Chief Engineer said as he handed the Captain the PADD with the side by side video on it. (Reply T'Vhor) "First off, our first officer is currently incapacitated and in sickbay, I'm not sure what happened. I am leaving that for smarter brains than me." (reply T'Vhor) "More troublesome is that if you look at the data on that PADD it shows that since about 1000 hours until recently, there had been to Commander Sophie Verin's running around." He hoped that his roomate, a fellow member of the Science department Petty Officer 3rd Class Maxwell Rios would be out of the room so he could take a well deserved nap. What he found though would end all aspirations for a sweet siesta. Instead of an empty room he found his roommate prone on the floor looking as if he had a seizure and non responsive. "Petty Officer Slattery to Ensign Rivers, come in Doc Rivers." (Reply Rivers) "I have a medical Emergency in my quarters, my roommate Petty Officer Rios is down. Requesting immediate assitance." (reply Rivers) (reply Rivers) (posted by Will Banowsky) (USS Spectre - Captain Ready Room - CO, Captain T'Vhor - 14:26) The chime sounding at the door broke the Captain's concentration, which wasn't such a bad thing considering that he'd been hammering out computations for the past 30 minutes and getting precisely nowhere. Answering the call, the CEO, Duke Williams entered with PADD in hand. T'Vhor acknowledged him with a nod and then bade him approach, hoping that he might have brought some good news. "Pardon the interruption Sir, but I need to share with you some concerning news." said the CEO, immediately showing him the PADD, which the Captain began perusing. Duke continued on... "First off, our first officer is currently incapacitated and in sickbay, I'm not sure what happened. I am leaving that for smarter brains than me.", he began. "Yes, I am aware of this", said the Captain. "I believe that she had some sort of episode and temporarily stopped breathing. I'm hoping that Andrew will get to the bottom of that sooner rather than later", he added. "In the mean time though..." The Captain trailed off as Williams continued again... "More troublesome is that if you look at the data on that PADD it shows that since about 1000 hours until recently, there have been two Commander Sophie Verin's running around." T'Vhor took his seat once again, pouring over the data. Duke was right, but it made no sense. The data did indeed point to a discrepancy in the logs that conflicted with other data. But how could Commander Verin be in two places at once? "As you can see she was present at both our meeting in the conference room and her office. I am afraid to say that our engines aren't our only problem." "Indeed", said the Captain. "Have you made this information available to Mr Kerge?", he asked. (Reply Williams) "We must assume that we have a security breach here", he said, noting Williams's concern. "In the meantime, keep this on a need to know basis", said the Captain. "I have a medical Emergency in my quarters, my roommate Petty Officer Rios is down. Requesting immediate assitance." "On my way Petty Officer" replied Tj as he grabbed his med kit and headed for the crew quarters. "We cannot have people second guessing one another right now" "Sir, given this new development, I'd like to take an away team over to the derelict on a fact finding mission. It might be best to keep our marine personnel here, especially with the rising security concern. I'm not convinced the derelict is the aggressor, I almost wonder if they were in the same boat we are in now.", he added. The Captain could only agree. Indeed, that very same suggestion had been on his own mind for some time now. Something definitely was not right here, and if the derelict had suffered a similar fate to that which their own ship had suffered, then the answers were to be found aboard it. "If I can get some of her systems up and running we might be able to see if my hypothesis is correct and download any data or information they might have on infiltrators or overcoming the engine problem.", said Williams. This time, it was the Captain who nodded his agreement. "Agreed", he said, succinctly. "I want Lt Kerge brought up to speed on this though. I would also recommend that all away team members and department heads on the ship, wear personal tracking locators at all times. That way, if anyone is trying to be someone they are not supposed to be, then we'll have a better chance at knowing so before they become aware that we know" (Reply Williams) Williams continued on.... The Captain took the CEO's recommendation on board, and then reluctantly nodded. The truth of the matter was that he was still unsure about using the transporters with the possibility of an unknown, undetectable field at large. But logic dictated that it was probably the safest option. "Have the Marines remain on standby", said the Captain. (Reply Williams, IYW) "And your away team? NRPG: If you have a department head not on the away team, which I think is only Alan (CO), Mel (FO), and Robbie (CMO) assume they were delivered off screen circa 1515 hours) RPG: Williams continued on.... "It would be a small team, and I know my team could maintain a stable transporter lock to get us over there and bring us back. My fear is if we took a shuttle that she would be dead in space the moment she left our hangar bay. I don't want to take that risk. The incursion would be minimal and safe. If we let the marines go first, I'm afraid that they might accidentally do damage to some subsystems we might need for analysis." "Have the Marines remain on standby", said the Captain. "Aye sir, I will send out a call to Major Kowalski." "And your away team? Who will you require?", asked the Captain. "I propose going over there with a team made up of myself, Lt. Palmer, Ensigns Drake and Darpeg for security, Ensign Rivers in case of any accident, and Ensign Robert Smith from the OPS department. I don't see us being gone for more than four hours. With your permission of course." "Indeed. Make it happen", said the Captain. "With the proviso of course being that Lt Kerge accompany you also", said the Captain. "That makes sense. Thank you sir." Duke stood up and nodded to the CO. He then turned and headed towards the door to the bridge and made a b-line straight for the turbo lift. Once inside he tapped on his commbadge. "Lt. Commander Williams to Lt. Kerge, Lt. Palmer, Ensign Robert Smith, Ensign Drake, Ensign, Darpeg, and Ensign Rivers. Please meet me in the Conference room at 15.20 hours." The captain would like a marine team on standby in case we need assistance, but for the time being, we are heading over with three members of the security department." (reply Kowalski) "Understood, Williams out." Duke then sighed, he had roughly 40 minutes to come up with a solid game plan, and get the trackers up and ready. Drake stood up, happy he is on the away team - his first one, but downright devastated by the looming security issue. Every step done felt like security failed, despite he knew all of them were doing their best. It wasn't a question of their quality, which wasn't questionable, it was an issue of manpower. He proceeded to the turbolift, and back to sickbay. (Reply: None) (Posted by Edi) (USS Spectre - Marine Hanger Deck - MXO, Mjr Bruce Kowalski - 14:33) =/\=Lt. Commander Williams to Major Kowalski=/\= Kowalski paused mid action as the comm came in. The CEO had already called a meeting for 15:20 hundred hours. What did he want now? "Go ahead Chief", he answered. =/\=Major, I am taking an away team over to the derelict ship. The captain would like a marine team on standby in case we need assistance, but for the time being, we are heading over with three members of the security department.=/\= Bruce scratched at his head. What had happened to the Martini plan? Had that been shelved? The MXO shrugged his shoulders as he'd been itching for some action since leaving starbase. "Reserve? Aye. That figures. See you at the meeting then. Kowalski out" Bruce then turned to Lewis, who had earwigged the entire conversation and was now looking as miffed as the MXO. "No shaker then, Sir", he said, dejected. "I was looking forwards to that" Bruce shook his head in the negative. "Not for the moment Lewis", he said. "I guess I should ready myself for this damned meeting" Lewis just nodded, his hand still held in mid air above the pulse cannon he'd been priming beforehand. "I guess I should stow this again then uh?", he said motioning to the weapon before him. Kowalski, already stood and heading out, looked over his shoulder. "Like the man said. Keep it in reserve", he answered, and then walked out into the corridor... (Reply None, Any) (Posted by Alan) (USS Spectre - Deck 5, Security Station Beta - CPO, Ricardo Meylan - 14:35) It was not a dull day, which was fine, Ricardo appreciated the excitement. What he didn't appreciate was uncertainty. He wished he could be doing more, but being an non commissioned officer, he was low enough on the totem pole that he still had to carry out his normal tasks. Still though, he wished he could help more. Instead he was monitoring injury reports in case any looked like it could be a security risk, which made it very odd that just as he saw that Petty Officer Rios was added to the injury list, he just happened to be walking right by the security station. "Chief Meylan to Ensign Drake" (reply Drake) "Sir, ummm, this is gonna sound weird, but I think I found an issue with the injury list that could be a security concern, but Im not ready to bring it to Lieutenant Kerge yet." (reply Drake) "Well, Petty Officer Rios is on the injury report, as of recently, but I just saw him walk by the Security Station. Please advise on how to respond." (reply Drake) (reply Drake) (Posted by Will) (USS Spectre - Sickbay - CMO, Cmdr Andrew Williams - 14:35) Andrew saw Rivers transport into sickbay with a new patient and made a mental note of capacity of sickbay. He glanced around making sure he had a good grasp of how may patient were here and home may free beds were available before he would have to expand and open the mass casualty areas. ~Okay we still have some capacity~ He stepped over to Rivers that he was treating C.P. Rios. “Hallo T.J. what happened to Rios?” (Reply Rivers) (Reply Rivers, any) (Posted by Robbie) (USS Spectre - Sickbay - ACTO Drake - 14:37) What a start of a hectic day, he was monitoring the FO's "twin"... trying to figure out how exactly is all of this possible. Made no sense to him, but he was new to this Starfleet thing, so while he felt a little out of comfort zone, he was happy that he was surrounded by the people much longer in Starfleet then him. =/\=Chief Meylan to Ensign Drake=/\= Chris jumped a little bit, then promptly exited the sickbay into the corridor, before opening the channel. "Here's Drake, how can I help?" =/\=Sir, ummm, this is gonna sound weird, but I think I found an issue with the injury list that could be a security concern, but Im not ready to bring it to Lieutenant Kerge yet.=/\= "Okay, what seems to be an issue?" I'll bring it up with the chain for you, what I want you to do at the moment is to just continue the job you were doing, concentrate on the task at hand, we need everyone at our full concentration. You did the right thing notifying me. Drake out." he punched the badge, and opened the channel once again. "Drake to Lieutenant Kerge." (Reply: Kerge) "It seems we got another one. Chief Meylan noticed a suspicious behaviour from an injured petty officer Rio, he seems to be roaming about the Deck 5... what're your orders, Sir?" (Reply: Kerge) (Posted by: Edi) (USS Spectre - Conference Room - CEO, Duke Williams - 15:15) Duke entered the conference room silently. He had the personal trackers neatly stored in a case waiting for the rest of the team to arrive. He was currently wearing his. The good news about the trackers is that not only did they show where he was at all times, it could be used as an emergency transporter device, for emergency beaming back to the Spectre. He sat at the head chair and sighed. He couldn't shake the dream he had the night before, about the Commander, about being called Imzadi, about being forced out of it by the death of his wife. Then of course the commander was seemingly attacked. It was all to weird. The only thing left to do was wait for the rest of the team. (Reply Drake, Palmer, Rivers, Darpeg, Kerge, Kowalski, Robert Smith) (posted by Will Banowsky) (USS Spectre - Conference Room - ACTO, Ensign Drake - 15:16) Drake went in the conference room in his tempo, buckling the phaser to his sides and rechecking his tricorder. Running around the ship wasn't his forte anyway, it was probably a job better done by the youth... now action - that was something more to his tastes. In his life he had his share of skirmishes, felt his share of pain, and learned his share of wisdom. He was an excellent tactician, used to the stresses of space and away missions and, in a way, this felt liberating to the point he didn't feel the stress and pressure he felt before. Many times, a ship is like a safe haven, but sometimes it can feel like a cage. Luckily, this was a way to open that valve, to release that pressure, and to do what felt familiar and comfortable - unlike the everyday on the Starfleet starship. He didn't prefer how the Starfleet worked, he prefered a heavier following of a chain in command, in many ways Starfleet was both leniant and forceful at the same time, and it was a system he wasn't accustomed yet. The whole was an empasis but there were still great deal of individual freedom, and he just never lived like that before. Like many a away mission before Starfleet, he picked the handheld phaser as opposed to the phaser rifle. The rifle provided better firepower, accuracy and, when in need, a blunt weapon… but it was bigger and cumbersome weapon, Chris was used to the handheld version so much that he was much more manuverable with it. He was proficient with it with his offhand as well, which allowed him to wear two, when overwhelming supressing power was needed. He seemed to have arrived second, right after the Engineering Chief. "Chief" he acknowledged him with a headshake, wondering why the man seemed to have drifted into his thoughts. "You alright there, sir?" he asked casually, perhaps informally but they were the only ones in the room. (Reply: Williams iyw, Any) (Posted by Edi) (USS Spectre - Conference Room - Ops, Ensign Robert Smith - 15:17) Robert entered the conference room and nodded to Williams who was already sitting at the table. He gave him a nod as he picked up a cup of caffeine from the dispenser and then moved over to his chair. He subconsciously patted the tracker making sure that is was still secure. He then put his PADD on to the table and looked at Williams to show that he was ready for the briefing. (Reply Drake, Palmer, Rivers, Darpeg, Kerge, Kowalski, any) (posted by Robbie Gray) (USS Spectre - Conference room - ACTO, Ensign Chris Drake - 15:18) Ensign Darpeg went in, he was another assistant tactical chief, and longer on Spectre then Chris was, no doubt already comfortable with the daily routines and the flow of the ship - or rather, however much a Vulcan could be on a human ship. "Greetings." he stated in a human fashion. "Likewise." Drake said, nodding to the man. (Reply: Williams) Chris then saw Darpeg hand down a crystal to Williams. "This contains the data on the solar sail that you may peruse at your leisure. It is logical to assume that this coming meeting is on a different matter." Chris grinned "Yes, an away mission. Finally." he said, looking straight up, completely aware that wasn't what Garek meant. Drake wondered what part of Garek liked this away mission... Klingon for the chance of battle, or Vulcan for a chance of... ~something logical in it, I suppose~. Or perhaps he didn't like it at al? Looking at Garek, he wondered, if there was such a storm of thoughts in his own mind, how much there was in Garek's, two polar opposite sides to a personality. (Reply: Darpeg iyw) (posted by Edi) (USS Spectre - Conference room - ACT/ASC, Ensign Garek Darpeg - 15:19) Darpeg entered the room. His Klingon side made him feel that Drake would be a rival for ascending the chain of command, but his Vulcan side told him that his actions had been called for and was simply doing his duty. He pushed aside the yellow alert that his Klingon heritage was giving him. Darpeg kept his face neutral, but if this were about an away mission, he would take his D'k tahg and his ahn'woon as backup weapons. He then said, "I will wait for the briefing to find out what the mission will entail." (Reply: Drake, Williams) (posted by Gary Dupree) (USS Spectre - Conference Room - MXO, Mjr Bruce Kowalski - 15:19) Entering into the conference room, the MXO spied the assembled officers therein, each sporting the device that had recently been given to them by the Chief Engineer. It was clear of course that nobody was entirely sure why they had been given them aside from a need to identify them all to the ships computer in a way that their usual combadges, didn't. No doubt they'd find out more about that in a moment or two, along with precisely why the plans had been changed and his team was now on standby. Taking his seat, Bruce gave a curt nod towards the Captain and to the other officers. Then he settled back into his chair and awaited the start of the briefing...
