Eoin ran a tricorder scan over the panels behind the component that he and Solkar had moved away. "Looks like about 75% of the relays have been fused. If this were the primary computer core, I'd say you'd be lucky to have consistent gravity throughout the ship. Thankfully, the power surge, or whatever it was, was down here." He straightened up, and turned to Darla. "Looks like we've got our work cut out for us." She nodded as she purposely allowed some time to pass as if she were considering their options. Of course, she wasn't, but no one else needed to know that except Eoin. "Okay." She finally said after a few moments, " I want the entire section stripped down to base components. Have each section that appears to be functional fault tested with a Level One Diagnostic. We can't afford any glitches in the system showing up and causing another incident." "Then, do a pattern dispersal analysis on the fried components. I'd like to know exactly how much power actually flashed through the unit if possible. Maybe we can determine if there was any contribution to the surge through any sort of unseen fault in the burned out units." "Once we've collected all that data, let's determine if we need to maintain the current configuration or if we need to make any adjustments to the current design to prevent such massive damage to this quadrant of the core in the future, or if it was just a fluke." She paused for a moment, well aware that she was ordering a very detailed analysis of the damaged components, but not the actual cause of the damage. She was also ordering a great deal more work than was needed to get the ship fully operational. It was of course not outside her work scope, although admittedly it was more detailed than what was actually needed. "Are there any other tests or sections that you feel require additional scrutiny?" She asked in conclusion. (reply Mac Liam) Daniel Greene (USS Hades - Secondary Computer Core - ACEO Ensign Eoin Mac Liam - 09:34) "Okay." Darla gove her verdict on the situation after pretending to ponder it over. It was something only Eoin could pick up on, thanks to the both of them being the ones in on what had actually happened. " I want the entire section stripped down to base components. Have each section that appears to be functional fault tested with a Level One Diagnostic. We can't afford any glitches in the system showing up and causing another incident." "Then, do a pattern dispersal analysis on the fried components. "Are there any other tests or sections that you feel require additional scrutiny?" She asked in conclusion. Eoin patted the ancillary component next to him, that had just been on his toe. "I think that the ancillary components could use a thorough inspection. Just to be on the safe side. I'd also recommend a gravimetric scan. We may have run into a singularity or other spacial anomaly that could've caused the malfunction." (reply Wright, any) (posted by Spencer) (USS Hades, Ready Room, CO Captain Eva Straton, 09:43) Eva was seated cross-legged in one corner of her Ready Room, eyes closed deep in meditation. Bringing her mind into focus and perfect sync with her body. The sound of her own heart beat filled her ears as she regulated her breathing and blood pressure. The situation they were going into was a potentially dangerous one. She needed to be on her toes and ready for anything that might come. Her eyes snapped open as her comm-badge chirped and Commander Bohb's voice filled the air. =/\=Bohb to Captain Straton, we have within transporter range of DS15. I wish to restate my concern about you going into a possible dangerous situation. As first officer I should be going over.=/\= Eva smirked as she tapped her comm-badge to reply. "Don't you think that would alert them that we suspect something is wrong?" She replied. "No, I must go. It's the only way to keep them from knowing we suspect anything and therefore off guard. While I appreciate your concern for my well-being, don't forget that I am more than capable of taking care of myself." (Reply Bohb, iyw, Any) (posted by Wes) (USS Hades - Gang Plank - SO- Ensign T'Sol- 0954) =^=If you believe it necessary Ensign, then by all means. However, I think it might be better if you got more of a ... feel for the station. Take some time and get some more observations. We can meet at 1030 hours.=^= The Vulcan officer would have frowned if doing so was not indicative of an outward admission of emotion. So instead, she raised her left eyebrow into a high arch. It was a trait that she had been using more than normal lately. "I understand, sir. I will endeavor to get a feel for the station as you suggest." She relaxed her eyebrow before continuing, "I shall also perform some observations." (reply Bohb iyw) "I shall brief you at 1030 hours." She finished just before he closed the channel. T'Sol inhaled and then briskly exhaled. A human would have called it sighing, while the Vulcan officer would have argued that the sudden influx of Oxygen to the body sped neurochemical production, heightening clarity and aiding in discipline. She turned back to the two security men at the gangplank. "I will be going aboard the station. Remain alert for potential problems." "Yes sir." they responded. T'Sol then turned and moved onto the station. (USS Hades - Secondary Computer Core - Engineer CPO Malcolm Saul- 10:11) "Who've we got here, Chief?" Wright asked. "This is Lieutenant Meyer, ma'am. He is in charge of the starbase engineering team assigned to assess the damage to our core," Malcolm said, gesturing in Meyer's direction. "I see, Welcome aboard Mister Meyer, glad to have you here." She made a sweeping gesture with her left hand, "As you can see we're all ankles deep in isolinear chips, blow relays and ODN components." Meyer nodded, "I see that Lieutenant. How can I help?" "Well," she began, "We could really use all the help we can get. We are only about 20% done with the pre-disassembly on the lower deck and we haven't even started the upper deck work, yet. I would love to have some additional hands available to help us with the upper deck work, prepping for the secondary core to be broken down into her four operating quadrants." "You're going to break down the entire core?" Meyer asked in surprise. Wright nodded. "Afraid so. The captain is a stickler for the regulations, ex-marine CO and all that. So since the Regs say that we have to strip it to the bone and test every component of the sub quadrants, quadrants, and ancillary support modules as we rebuild. That's what'll get done. I've got another team working on the core power relays, shutting them down, and conducting magnetic phase variance tests to see if one of them was faulty." Meyer frowned. "That's a great deal of work." he commented off-hand. "Yes it is, but necessary. There's no telling how long it may be before we're near another Federation outpost where we can conduct this sort of repair. I'd rather it take us a week, than a month out in the field. Not to mention the captain wouldn't leave much of me after she chewed off my hide or failing to follow the Regs." She gave him a pleasant smile, or at least she hoped it was pleasant. "Tell me you can give me a hand with this." She all but pleaded. "Well." He acquiesced with a sigh, "I can assign a team, two at the most to help out." She smiled. "Excellent. Now I owe you and your team drinks when this is all over. You can name the place." "Let's not get ahead of ourselves, lieutenant." Meyer replied, "You may hate us by the time all this is over, let's see where we stand once we're finished getting this monster rebuilt." Wright nodded, "Sounds good. Chief Saul here will act as your liaison for the duration of the project. He's a good engineer and a solid facilitator. We can mix our engineering crews, so that we always have some people more intimately familiar with the Hades particular quirks handy to lend a hand, also it helps with team building. That alright with you?" Meyer nodded. "Yep fine with me. I've found mixing crews and station personnel on large repairs is best in my experience." "Excellent. Chief Saul, consider yourself the official engineering Liaison with the station. I'll expect you to communicate and facilitate as needed to help us work together and get this project finished with as few hiccups as possible." Malcolm nodded in acknowledgement, "Understood, ma'am." He then turned to Meyer. "Sir, if you could fill me in on what resources you and your team would need, and what your plan is for this, I can get started with facilitating this joint project." (reply Meyer, Wright, any) (posted by Spencer) (DS15- Promenade - SO- Ensign T'Sol- 1020) The last half-hour or so had proven to be very curious for T'Sol. Her observations hinted at a very liberal approach to security, which she had never encountered aboard any Starfleet Starbase during the entirety of her career. Then there was the individual that seemed to be following her around the station attempting to observe her without being observed. His attempts were clumsy and ill-conceived. His skill at such things was clearly without any polish and T'Sol found it an easy thing to continue her movements through the throng aboard the station in such a manner that allowed her to monitor him while he believed to be doing the same to her. She had stopped at a cloth vendor, and was pretending to inspect some imported silken material when she noticed that her observer had been joined by another individual. The two seemed to pretend to chat about something, and T'Sol was certain that had it not been for the crowd she could have possibly read their lips and by doing so at least been privy to some aspect of their conversation. She used the arrival of a large group of religious followers as cover to break her surveillance and headed with ll due haste back towards the Hades. Something very unusual was happening, and T'Sol had reason to believe that it had been upset by the arrival of the Hades, since she had some opportunity to observe a few of the other Hades crewman also being observed discretely. It was time to go back and see the First Officer. (DS15- CO's Office- Captain Eva Straton and Captain William Nelson- 10:26) Eva stepped out of the turbolift and onto the bridge of DS15. She swept the bridge with a neutral gaze before falling on a tall male Vulcan who was heading over toward her. "Captain Straton, I am Commander Sy'val, First Officer of DS15. Welcome Aboard. Captain Nelson is waiting for you in his Ready Room," the Vulcan said. Eva nodded once then moved toward the indicated door. She pressed the chime and waited. She entered when the doors opened and took in the room with a glance. Her gaze then locked on the man sitting behind the desk. "Captain Nelson," She said, in greeting as she stepped forward hearing the door close behind her. "Any word yet from the repair teams?" Nelson had been watching the Hades CO come across his bridge area. When she arrived at his door he stood up and came around his desk. She certainly didn't waste any time on niceties. He held out his hand, refusing to give up on basic manners. "Captain Straton, welcome to DS15. No, there hasn't been anything yet. However, as soon as I get word, I will let you know. You have, after all, only been docked for a short time. You may find some of our people ...quirky, but they know their job and get things done." Eva quirked an eye brow as she took the offered hand, giving Nelson a firm hand shake. "I hope so," She said, "I want to get the Hades repaired and back on patrol as soon as possible." He indicated to the seat across from his desk. "Please, have a seat." Eva moved over to the offered seat, but didn't yet sit down. "So, how is your investigation into the incident with your stolen shuttle? Nelson shrugged his shoulders. "To be honest, there is not much to investigate. Lt. Commander Stephens was my Chief of Security. When he was on an... errand to Rigel IV he contracted Rigellian Fever. It's bad, but easily treated these days. However, it has a nasty habit of coming back and bringing with it a terrible fever. While Evan was being treated in sickbay his fever spiked and triggered a psychotic episode. He began hearing voices. Evan decided that the only way to stop the voices was to get rid of the source, which he decided was the station." Nelson shook his head, "I'm still not completely certain how he managed to get out of the quarantine field in our medical center, but he was my security chief. he designed most of the security features of this base, so even in his condition I'm sure he had a few tricks up his sleeve. Making his way to the shuttle bay, via ... alternate routes, was also something that he was more than capable of. Once there, lack of conviction on the part of security teams allowed him to secure a runabout. The rest, as they say, is history." Eva nodded as Captain Nelson explained things. She could tell that he was telling the truth at least in part. Still she got the impression he wasn't being completely honest with her. Passive empathy was not an exact science by any means, and Captain Nelson's mind was surprisingly well shielded for a human. "And that is why Star Fleet requires an investigation, as you well know," She said, with a small smile. "They will want answers to that question of how he managed to get out of sickbay." Eva sat down but kept her eyes on Captain Nelson. "That's not my main concern though," She said, deciding to change the subject. "Have you had a chance to read over the reports of the recent Cardassian activity in this sector? The Hades was tracking two, possibly three, Cardassian warp trails before our computer core malfunction. I want to get the Hades repaired as quickly as possible so we can get back on patrol. If the Cardassian's are up to something, it's in the Federations best interests to know about it before hand." Nelson stopped and rubbed his chin. With a smile he produced a PADD and handed it over to the Hades CO. "I thought you might want to know that, so I took the liberty of downloading all of our data from the past month for Cardassian ship activity." He turned his computer monitor around and tapped a key that brought up a star map of the area. "As you can see," he highlighted a series of Cardassian insignia shaped icons, "here is the path of all Cardassian ships. Most of them seem to be heading towards this sector." He pointed to a convergence of the symbols. "Not much there that is too exciting, which, of course, is always troubling when you have Cardassian's involved. Of course the territory is mostly unexplored, but we haven't seen any signs of ... well, at least warp capable civilizations. Not from our point of view, anyhow." Eva nodded looking at the map on the screen and noting the location of the Cardassian ships. "Just so you know, we still have your man, Nicola, sitting in our brig," Nelson stated. "he was caught accessing our systems in an most unauthorized manner. I believe that he was just being a bit...overzealous, rather than trying to commit a crime. Really, he just needs to learn to ask if he could help. He's been most compliant since his 'time out.' Would you like me to send for him?" "Indeed," Eva said a frown on her face. "I'd like some answers as to why he thought it was necessary to do such a thing." Nelson nodded, “To be honest, he was not so forthcoming with that information. He said that he had heard alarms, and simply decided that it was his duty to try and find out what was going on. He jumped to some wild conclusion that the situation with Lt. Commander Stephens was something other than it was. As I said, he wasn't very informative. I decided to leave anything further up to you, as he is, after all, yours. Should I have him brought up?” "Yes, I would like the chance to talk him myself," Eva replied. "I don't tolerate my officers flying off half cocked. He will need to answer for his actions or face the consequences of said actions." Nelson nodded, "Then I will leave the matter in your hands Captain Straton. I defer the disposition of your crewman to your judgment." Nelson tapped his comm badge, "Nelson to the brig, I believe Captain Straton is ready to meet her new crewman." =^=Aye Captain, we'll be right there.=^= Nelson sat back as he waited. "I know that you're busy Captain, but perhaps you and your senior staff would join us for dinner. I'm sure, by that time we'll have the answers you need about your repairs." "I'll discuss it with my First Officer and let you know," Eva said with a slight nod. "I'm not sure if we will both be able to get free at the same time. You understand there is a lot of work still to do with coordinating the repairs." A moment later the door chime rang and Nelson called for the door to open. Ensign Mil Nicolae was escorted in by Lt. Dren, a Bolian security officer. Nicolae looked quite... sedate, compared to the last time Nelson had seen him. Clearly the doctor's work was successful. "Mr. Nicolae," Nelson nodded at the ensign. "Captain Straton, I'm sure you'd like a moment alone with your crewman. If you'd like to use my office Lt. Dren and I can leave you alone." Eva nodded affirmative at Captain Nelson, as she turned a withering glare on Ensign Nicolae. She maintained the glare until Captain Nelson and the security guard had left the room. "Explain yourself Ensign," She growled as the Ready Room doors closed. (reply Nicolae, Any) (posted by Al Muir & Wes) (USS Hades - FO's Office- SO- Ensign T'Sol- 1029) T'Sol reached the First officer's office with hardly a moment to spare. She had decided that it was best if she guaranteed that any personal surveillance had been lost, before making her way to the gangplank of the ship. Once she was satisfied that she was no longer being followed, she had then reported aboard and made her way as quickly as possible to her meeting. She reached out and pressed the enunciator and waited for permission to enter. (reply Lt. Cmdr. Bohb) Daniel Greene (DS15- CO's Office- ATAC - Ensign Mil Nicolae- 10:30) As the doors to the office shut Captain Straton glaired at Mil "Explain yourself Ensign." The walk from the Brig had been slightly surreal...infact the last few moments had felt like a blur in time. Mil could still feel the hug from the Dr but didnt understand why. The voice of his new commanding officer brought Mil back into the room. He held his head high straightend his uniform and began. "Captain, I understand my actions have been irratic and forthcoming of an officer but I needed to know why the shuttle attacked the station and why they had distroyed it. During the attack I attempted to contact the Bridge but no one contacted me back. I know it wasnt right to access the systems in the fashion I did. I was worried we were under attack, I just wanted to help. But then I started digging and found the strange programme in the computer." Mil started to move across to the chair and put his hand on the back of it to steady himself, still slightly light headed from the Drs medical attention. "Ma'am, then they locked me out and cut the communication, I panicked; I'm ashaimed to admit it but I over reacted." Mil stood back up ready to take his punishment. (Reply Straton) (Posted by Mat Hodson) (USS Hades, Mission Operations – ATAC Takeshi Katsurou - 1050) Baylon stood in the mission operations compartment aboard the Hades, looking over the equipment that they'd be using for their infiltration mission. He knew it would only be a few minutes longer before Katsurou would be joining him, dressed in civilian attire similar to his own. Baylon had opted for some minor cosmetic surgery to alter his facial features just enough to cause a facial recognition program to come back with a negative identity. His hair color had been medically stimulated until it reached his shoulders, and his facial hair had likewise been allowed to grow out using the same technique. So now instead of his short blond hair, he wore a series of long braids that began midway across the crown of his skull and fell down to his shoulders. His bangs had been spiked upwards in a sort of fan shape that stretched from the left to the right of his head. His beard was braided in short braids and filled with small metal charms, one of which contained an emergency transport beacon. His eye color had been altered as had the shape of his irises. The new star-shaped irises marked him as Maldovian as did the rich violet that surrounded them. medical had darkened his skin-tone into a more appropriate coppery red coloration reminiscent of that species. Their physiology was nearly otherwise identical to Betazoids, and only a very detailed scan would reveal his true identity. He would be carrying a Broval; a short hand baton that held religious significance to a little known Maldovian religious sect. He also carried a small tricorder, slightly modified, as well as a religious pendant that he wore around his neck, which held an emergency communicator. The costume was filled out by the loose-fitting breeches and Sommak hair shirt that the members of the religious order wore. Baylon has selected this disguise as soon as he realized that a group of this order had arrived on the station and were going to be there while some repairs were being undertaken by the station's engineering teams. They did not seem to be well-observed, and they didn't seem to have too much of an escort around the station. The basic plan would be to beam aboard their ship, close to the causeway and then exit in a normal fashion gaining access to the station while avoiding any chance that the Station's internal sensors would detect the beam-in. It was a little risky, but it was the best that they could come up with. Katsurou had been conducting research on the station's layout and baylon hoped that once he arrived, in his similar dress that they would be able to determine their first stop looking for information. When Takeshi did arrive a few minutes later there was only one thing that really gave him away. His smiling for no apparent reason. Although to be honest it looked much more odd with his new get up than it normally did. Like Baylon his face had been changed a bit and his hair was grown out more than a bit. Takeshi's cover would be to go as Baylons servant and guard. As a small yet widely disliked religious sect a guard was almost always necessary, so much so that over time it had become a matter of ritual. Takeshi's long black hair had been pulled into a tight braid which fell just below his shoulder blades. His left eye was covered by a large eye-patch with had a micro camera built into it. Takeshi figured that visual evidence would be more easy to come by than hard data. This only made the star shaped color of his right iris, surrounded by a pool of violet, stick out more. His face boasted two very pronounced scars, which given his guise, were born as a badge of honor. His clothes were the same as Baylons. The Ensign wore no charms or jewelry save three small length of steel which were attached to the top of his 6 foot staff. One of the pieces concealed a transporter beacon. "Good morning Sir. I memorized the schematics as you suggested. I also looked up the civilian event of the next few days. It seems that tomorrow is the space station equivalent of a festival. Most of the base security will be out and about keeping the peace, leaving the systems of the station more or less unguarded." (Reply Baylon) "Actually Sir, I was wondering how you planned to go about this? If the suspected person is a Cardassian spy then we're dealing with the Obsidian Order. From what I know the only people who are better at espionage would be the Romulans. These guys are not going to just leave tracks. I was very surprised with our new ensign said he wasn't seeing Starfleet Algorithms." (Reply Baylon.) Christopher Black. (USS Hades, Mission Operations – Lieutenant CTAC/CSEC Baylon Trinin - 1100) If it wasn't for the fact that Baylon was already suspecting Katsurou to arrive in disguise, he would have wondered how such a rough looking individual had managed to get aboard the ship without provoking more scrutiny. He supposed that the appearance was just outlandish enough to make people look twice, and then of course there had been the quite word-of-mouth notification through the security department, so that someone didn't inadvertently set off an intruder alert and bring all their preparations to a sudden and unwanted halt. ~The man must be half-samurai~ Baylon thought with an approving smile and a quick nod of his head. He looked formidable and that was going to be both an advantage and a drawback. They'd certainly draw attention to themselves. "Good morning Sir." Katsurou greeted him, "I memorized the schematics as you suggested. I also looked up the civilian event of the next few days. It seems that tomorrow is the space station equivalent of a festival. Most of the base security will be out and about keeping the peace, leaving the systems of the station more or less unguarded." "That's very good news. Maybe then we'll be able to get aboard undetected." Baylon replied. "Actually Sir, I was wondering how you planned to go about this? If the suspected person is a Cardassian spy then we're dealing with the Obsidian Order. From what I know the only people who are better at espionage would be the Romulans. These guys are not going to just leave tracks. I was very surprised with our new ensign said he wasn't seeing Starfleet Algorithms." "Valid point." Baylon said with a small nod. "Some of it we're going to have to play by ear. I think we should start by looking into Commander Stevenson's quarters and effects. After looking at some of the data, I was able to match voice patterns with those of the station's security chief. He has an impressive dossier, and isn't likely to be manic or unhinged. I think that there's a good chance that whatever he was doing in that runabout has something to do with our potential imposter." "Then, of course, we should make arrangements to tap into the station's security systems, so that we can utilize their own internal sensors against them. If we can manage that, we can try to see if the station CO is inhabiting any unusual bio-readings that would either rule him out as a human or would identify him as a Cardassian. That will probably leave us with very little true information, although we could use the systems later if we needed to." "Ideally, we'd be able to place the captain's quarters, offices and ready room under surveillance, but that might prove difficult. Still if it presents itself, it's worthwhile. For today, we get ourselves aboard the station, get a look around and see if we can spot anything obvious going on. Then tomorrow, during the festival, we'll see if we can gain access to secured station systems." (reply Katsurou) "I hope you studied up on your cover identities religious beliefs and such. We may need to put them to the test." (reply Katsurou) "Good. Then if you're ready we should be heading out." (reply Katsurou) Baylon put on the last of his equipment and then reached down to activate an internal station-to-station communication to Captain Straton and Commander Bohb. "We are ready to begin our R&R now." he said simply, using the pre-arranged pass phrase that indicated that they were ready to get underway. They purposely left off any titles, names or details. Plausible deniability was always a good thing, besides one could never be too paranoid. (reply Straton, Bohb) "Understood. Have fun." he replied and then closed the channel. "Looks like we're a go." he stated to Katsurou. (reply Katsurou, Straton, Bohb) Daniel Greene' (USS Hades, Ready Room, CSO/2O Bracken, 11:10)           Eva smirked.  "You’re the scientist Lt. not me," She said, "My best guess would be it's a passive location device.  Something that would allow her to pin point your location, should she need it."   Eva turned the device over in her hands.  "It's doubtful that it's a communication device. That would be too easy to determine.  A passive locater, however, is much harder to detect as it sends no active signal to trace and you have to know exactly what you’re looking for in order to find it."           Eva handed the item back to Lt. Bracken.  "Hold on to it," She said, "We will see if your mother contacts you again."   Dale nodded, taking the item back from the captain. “Thank you Sir, I’ll have a close look at this, see if I can’t determine what it’s for.”   Dale paused, “If she is here undercover, it’s not going to be easy to regain contact sir, I can’t keep strolling up to the same trader. Nor can anyone from the ship sir, especially since we’re not on shore leave, most of the crew is ordered to remain aboard. Even the most lax security people are going to notice crew from this ship wandering up to one person in particular.”   (Reply Straton)   “There is an alternative, but you’re not going to like it. We do as you say however; need to know what Intel is doing here.”   (Reply Straton)   “The rear gangway has a lot more cover than the front, it’s obvious by the design of this that the rear was added almost as an afterthought, next time the security detail changes, have the replacements secure the ship end of the gangway for about 30 seconds, that’ll give her enough time to slip aboard. You’ll…We’ll then be able to have a proper conversation, no need for cloak and dagger.”   (reply Straton)   “Yes sir I understand, I will however state on the record, and with my reputation completely at stake, that if this ship is in danger, it won’t be from her Sir.”   (reply Straton, Any) (Posted by Mark) (USS Hades, Ready Room, CO Captain Eva Straton, 11:12) "...Even the most lax security people are going to notice crew from this ship wandering up to one person in particular," Lt. Bracken said. "Indeed," Eva agreed with a small nod of her head. "There is an alternative, but you're not going to like it. We do as you say however; need to know what Intel is doing here." "Let's hear it Lt." Eva said, wanting to know what her Second Officer was thinking. "The rear gangway has a lot more cover than the front, it's obvious by the design of this that the rear was added almost as an afterthought, next time the security detail changes, have the replacements secure the ship end of the gangway for about 30 seconds, that'll give her enough time to slip aboard. You'll...We'll then be able to have a proper conversation, no need for cloak and dagger." Eva's eyes narrowed as she digested what Bracken had said and running the possibilities through her mind. ~Sometimes you have to take risks.~ She thought as she made up her mind. "Talk to Security about it and get it arranged," She said. "Yes sir I understand, I will however state on the record, and with my reputation completely at stake, that if this ship is in danger, it won't be from her Sir." "At least not knowingly," Eva added, "Her mission could interfere with our own, or vise versa. There are too many unknowns in the equation to know for certainty. We need answers. Determining what Fleet Intel is doing on the station is only one of the answers we need to successfully complete our mission." Eva leaned forward her eyes and voice turning to ice. "I assure you Lt. your mother might be good at what she does, but so am I. If we learn that her presence is indeed a threat to this ship or it's crew, I will do whatever I feel is necessary to neutralize that threat." Eva didn't elaborate as she was sure Lt. Bracken would get her meaning. "I am willing," Eva continued a moment later, her voice returning to it's normal tone. "to let you take point on attempting to re-establish contact with your mother as it seems the most logical route. When she contacts you again, I want you to let me know immediately. Your mother and I will need to talk. The sooner we can eliminate your mother or her mission as a potential threat, we can focus on our actual mission and the real threat. Do you understand?" (Reply Bracken, Any) (Posted by Wes) (Starship Ho'gras- Interior corridor – CTAC/CSEC Lieutenant Baylon Trinin - 1115) He and Katsurou had been forced to wait for a short period of time until the corridor leading to the gangplank from the Maldovian ship to Deep Space 15 had been clear of potential witnesses. They had materialized just around the bend from the exit, far enough away that the whine of the transporters shouldn't have been audible, but close enough to allow them easy enough access while minimizing their time aboard the alien vessel. He had to admit that they certainly looked the part, and hopefully well enough to be overlooked by any potential people looking for individuals attempting to infiltrate the station in this manner. The were moving purposefully, not speaking, towards the gangplank when they encountered a pair of worshippers moving the opposite direction. ~Nows the time to see how well I did my research.~ Baylon thought as they approached the pair of Maldovian monks. "Light illuminate your path brothers." The lead monk greeted them. "And darkness cower in your footsteps, brother." Baylon greeted in reply. They must have been convincing enough, since the two continued on their way, without raising any alarm. They had passed their very first, and very simplistic test. (DS15- Promenade – CTAC/CSEC Lieutenant Baylon Trinin - 1120) The promenade was, true to Katsurou's warning, filled with all sorts of individuals looking to trade, sell, barter or enjoy the atmosphere , trinkets or other services that were always available just before and during a local festival. The crowds were oppressive for a station of this size, but not so much so that there was any difficulty truly maneuvering through them. near the edges hawkers and barkers called out to potential clients, while further in it was the establishments that seemed to quietly draw in the crowds with promises of food, entertainment and drinks. He and Katsurou found a relatively quiet ebb in the flow of the crowd, where they could stand for a few moments and gather their bearings. The noise was punishing, although indistinguishable as individual voices, and then there were the constant flashes of color and the various smells, all signs that the station was overcrowded. "Maybe we should see about visiting our friend?" Baylon asked his associate, indicating the commander, of course. (reply Katsurou) Daniel Greene' (DS15, CO's Office, Captain Eva Straton, 10:31) "Ma'am, then they locked me out and cut the communication, I panicked; I'm ashamed to admit it but I over reacted," Ensign Nicolae finished. Eva studied him silently for several seconds through narrowed eyes. "You should be ashamed," Eva said finally, "Your behavior was completely unwarranted not to mention unbecoming a Star Fleet officer. By all rights I should have you court-martial 'd and sent to a penal colony. Lucky for you Captain Nelson is in a forgiving mood and your actions didn't cause any permanent damage to the station or personnel. Instead there will be a letter of reprimand placed in your permanent file. Furthermore, you will pull double duty shifts for the next month. I will also make sure that you are properly supervised while on duty. Now, go gather your gear and report to the Hades within the hour. Dismissed Ensign." "Momma!" they both screamed reaching out for her with their little arms. Eva entered their thoughts and soothed them both. They giggled at the familiar feel of their mothers thoughts and quieted down. Sasha explained to Eva about the men he had observed following him and the twins on the station. "I couldn't tell who they were, but they seemed suspicious, and they were certainly following us. I led them around the station for a bit to be sure, and as soon as they approached us, I requested the beam out." "Interesting," Eva said, looking back down at the twins glad that they were both safe. "What puzzles me though is why they would approach you at all let alone in a crowded area of the station. Your not Star Fleet any more so you can't be a high profile target if it's the Cardassian's." Sasha nodded. "That was my thought as well. The only realistic possibility that I can think of is that someone could be thinking to use us to get to you, or to get concessions from you. We could have been targeted because of that. But that doesn't really seem to be the Cardassian's' style, so I don't know what to make of it." He glanced down at the twins before looking back up at Eva. "I'd like to go back to the station by myself, and go report the incident to station security. I can give a detailed description of the men who were following us -- maybe the security staff on the station will have an idea of who they are or what they might have been doing." Eva frowned, not liking what Sasha said about someone using him and the twins to get at her. ~It makes sense that the real target is me. Though things would go very poorly for anyone who would use my kids against me.~ Eva stood a determined look on her face. "I would like you to take someone from Hades Security with you," She said, "It would lend some weight behind you in case they try to call your story into question." Sasha nodded. "Ok, that sounds good to me. I assume Trinin is busy with investigating the Cardassian angle. Who do you suggest I take with me?" "Ensign Nicolae spent a few days on DS15 before we arrived," Eva said, after a moments consideration. "He's in a bit of hot water still for some of his actions on the station, but he should do to watch your back." "Sounds good," replied Sasha. "I will go find him and ask him to accompany me, once I get the twins back home and fed. I'll let you know when we are leaving." Eva nodded. "Please do," She said, "I'll be keeping my own eye on you as well." She knew that Sasha would understand what she meant. "I should get back to the Bridge and let Crewman Anders back to his post." She nodded toward the door where the crewman she'd kick out was waiting on the other side of the closed doors. She smiled as she reached out and took Sasha's face between her hands. She leaned forward and kissed him on the lips briefly before letting him go. ::Watch your back Imzadi,:: She said in his mind as she knelt and kissed the twins good bye as well. ::I will,:: replied Sasha as they walked out of the transporter room. He turned one way, headed for their quarters, as she turned the other way and headed for the bridge. (Reply Any) (posted by Aaron and Wes) (USS Hades, Security Office, ATAC Tallac Dragovar , 12:05)   Dragovar stepped out of the turbolift by the security office. He typed in his code to gain access to the office and walked through the door, instinctively ducking his head although the doors missed his head by a couple of inches.   A member of the tactical team was seated at a desk in the room reading over a report, Dragovar approached the desk and spoke. “I’m looking for Ensign T’Sol. I am Ensign Dragovar, the captain told me to report in down here.”   (reply T’sol ) (Posted by Tim) (USS Hades - Security Office - SO- Ensign T'Sol- 1206) The doors to the security office slid open as T'Sol approached them. The meeting between herself and the security section leaders had been enlightening and adequately paranoid at the same time. They agreed that there was most likely something amiss, but no one seemed to be able to, as the Humans said, 'put their finger on it'. She was contemplating that statement, trying to work out why a species would use a physical representation for an obviously intangible object, when she overheard her name. “I’m looking for Ensign T’Sol. I am Ensign Dragovar, the captain told me to report in down here.” She turned to regard the speaker for a moment, since it was not a voice that she recognized. He was a tall specimen for a human, broad shouldered and very fit in appearance. He possessed the Blonde hair color and blue eyes of the Nordic subspecies of humans, which was further supported by his caucasian pigmentation. He held himself well, indicating that he was aware of his size and ability, and that he had probably seen conflict at least once in his life. "I am T'Sol." she stated simply, "I was unaware that we would have new crew assigned upon our arrival, beyond Ensign Nicolae. As such I was not expecting you." (reply Tallac) Daniel Greene (USS Hades - Security Office – ATAC - Ensign Tallac Dragovar- 1210)   I am T'Sol." she stated simply, "I was unaware that we would have new crew assigned upon our arrival, beyond Ensign Nicolae. As such I was not expecting you."   “I’m sorry, Ensign, I didn’t know I was coming here before yesterday. I was diverted here instead of going to another ship” Dragovar crossed the distance between them is a couple of strides. “I met Ensign Nicolae at the Academy. We had a couple of the same classes.”   He handed his Padd over to the ensign and looked around the office. “Bit of an atmosphere on board. I might not be telepathic, but my sixth sense is working overtime.”   “The hairs on the back of my neck feel like they have been statically charged, and my gut is telling me that something is off.” Dragovar continued as he expanded on his previous statement. “Whenever something doesn’t feel right, I get the same sensations. It has saved me from ambushes and nasty surprises many times in my previous line of work. I don’t know if that makes much sense, just instinct I suppose.”   He drew up to his full height, towering a full foot over the top of the Vulcan   “Well, I may as well get started seems as I am here, what do you need me to do ?   (reply T’Sol) (Posted by Tim) (USS Hades - Security Office - SO- Ensign T'Sol- 1212) “Well, I may as well get started seems as I am here, what do you need me to do ?" He asked her. T'Sol couldn't help but notice the attempted physical intimidation that the Ensign performed. She was uncertain as to it's intention; deliberate or unconscious, but it was there nonetheless. She reviewed the PADD that he had offered her, and determined that the best course of action would be to see to it that the newest member of their crew was fully vetted for duty, after all it seemed that the individual had come aboard and simply reported to the Captain before reporting to her. There were still other senior officers and Department heads, that he needed to see. "Ensign Dragovar," she said very neutrally, "It seems that you have not yet completed your pre-duty reporting. I would highly suggest that you do so immediately. As a prior Marine Commander, our captain is quite strict with the interpretation and adherence to the regulations." She paused for a moment before continuing. "As you may be unfamiliar with those processes, allow me to guide you. Before I can place you on active security or Tactical detail, you must meet with The Ship's 2O, Lieutenant Bracken; the FO, Lt. Commander Bohb, The Ship's CMO, Lieutenant Windsong-Trommashere or her ACMO, Ensign Hawkeye. Then there's Ensign Ripley the Ship's Counselor to consider as well. Each of these individuals must certify you as ready for duty, before I can put you onto the duty Rota." She gave him another pause, before adding, "And finally, before you can take any shift on the Bridge without supervision, you must be rated in the Tactical Holographic Interface System. So you would do well to begin your studies with that as soon as possible upon completion. Report back to me when you have the approval of all the other officers I have mentioned to you. Do you have any questions?" (reply Dragovar) Daniel Greene (DS15, Trader’s Floor, 2L Leola Bracken, 1330)   Leola looked up, the day had been mercifully slow, few of the crew from the Hades had alighted, there had been some, but none had really stopped and bought anything, it was almost as if they too were looking. There was no way of telling what it was they were looking for, but there was a danger that it would impinge on her mission, too many cooks. Too many amateurs playing at spook. She was glad that her daughter had retained the intelligence that she had inherited, Dale had found a way to make initial contact, and had played the traders fencing game well, whole volumes had been spoken between the two women, that none other could read anything into other than two mothers comparing notes.           “Sentimentality? From you Apate?” Leola disliked the man that she’d been teamed up with, A career desk officer, who now and then liked to prove he could do it, she also didn’t like him trespassing on her thoughts.   “I told you before Hermes, stay out of my mind, or I will kill you.”   “Charming.” Hermes did however, retreat his thoughts, staying out of the Bracken woman’s mind. “Small wonder your daughter hasn’t come to see you again.” He motioned toward where the Hades was docked.   “She knows that if she does she’ll blow our cover you imbecille.”   “And the other crew?”   “They’re not on shore leave. Repairs most likely.”   “Would you like to tell me how you know that?” his answer was irritated, Leola liked that.   “Because there’s a contingent of Marines on board that ship. If they’d have been cut loose, then the bars on this place would be well on their way to being dry by now. Plus the odd scuffle or two.”   Hermes shrugged the point. “We do however need to know why they’re here. Is it just a coincidence? Our mission is hard enough without added security.”   Leola had to agree. “It’s odd actually, they’re being followed.”   “What?”   There have been one or two of the officers from the Hades come off the ship, all of them had been followed, very closely, not professionally though. One of them followed Dale, Science or Med officer, by the tunic.”   “They manage to lose them?” He asked, genuinely concerned.   “Dale did, she learned from the best, another, a civilian male and two children transported out, presumably back to the Hades.”   “They tailed a civilian and two children?” His repetition was disgusted.   “Yeah I know. I really need to speak to the captain on the Hades, their security though is too tight.” He nodded, but frowned. “Get this sorted, whichever way, my shuttle leaves in 10, you’re on your own.”   “Understood.”   (Reply any, none) (posted by Mark) (DS15-Sickbay-ACMO Ensign Hawkeye Dolphine- 1400) Hawkeye had spent the last few hours around the space station when he heard a voice call to him outside of sickbay. "Hawkeye Dolphine you old man I thought that was you" the voice called out. ~No it can't be, I dont have that kind of luck~ Hawkeye thought to himself. He sifhed and turned around with a smile on his face. "Jason Brazier how are you? And what are you doing on a space station, let alone in a starfleet uniform? The last time I heard you were headed for the cardassian sector to serve as medical relief for their newest military academy on Cardassia IV." "I got a chance to think about what we talked about the last time you were on earth, how Starfleet would give me a chance to actually pratice medicine again, like it was in the old days in the ambulance. I realized i could do more good here than as a medical relief or advisor. I'm a doctor not a school teacher. So about three years ago I applied to Starfleet academy and now here I am to serve as the newest CMO on board the station. Offically I dont take duty for another 6 weeks but I wanted to come look into their sickbay and see just what I am up against. But enough about me what about you? You still on board the Boudicca?" Jason asked. "No I was transferred to the Hades along with Angeni and Chase. It gave me a chance to do some teaching while aboard, you remember John dont you? He decided to give up being a field medic and decided to go to medical school and he would rejoin Starfleet as an ACMO. But enough rehashing the old days are you gonna show me your new duty post or am I just going to stand here yelling across the promonade?" Hawkeye asked. A few minutes later Hawkeye was inside sickbay at DS15. He was standing in front of some sort of labaratory equipment with what looked like a statsi liquid . He couldnt make out to well what was in the tanks but thought it would be something that the command staff would want to know about. After he finished the tour with his old friend they went back out to the promonade to find the replimat for lunch. "Okay Jason I have to ask, what are you guys using for charting patient records? The last I heard was that Starfleet was experimenting with a new charting system? Hawkeye asked. He knew that this wasn't exactly the truth, but he figured it would give him the chance to kind of snoop around the computer system, or at least the medical profiles of the command staff on baord DS15. After all Angeni relayed the concerns that the Captain had about the current command staff and the possibility that they have been replaced, by what noone knew for certain. "I'll Tell you what, why dont you come by around 1730 hours, I've got something I want you to help me with. I'll show you what we are using then my old friend, besides I've got a case I'm having a hard time with and I wouldn't mind having a surgery consult on it. SOmething just doesn't feel right about it. What do you say?" "I wouldn't miss it for the world old man." Hawkeye responded with a smile. He stood as his friend rose and headed back for sickbay. Hawkeye headed for a remote section of the promonade and activated his commbadge. "Dolphine to Angeni, Cdr. Bohb, are you two available for a meeting in the Hades sickbay in about half an hour?"
