T'Vanek thought that over a moment. "Very well Commander, Alamo out."਍ഀ

He took a breath, and another voice rapidly filled the silence. =^=Sir,਍ഀ
may I suggest the Combat Engineers for the internal Engineering mission਍ഀ
and an Assault Unit for an external attack.=^=਍ഀ

T'Vanek gave that a moments consideration. "Meet me back here, Marine."਍ഀ
he responded. He then said, "CO 5-to-midnight to me."਍ഀ

Runabouts were small, both were in his presence in a very short period਍ഀ
of time. He looked at both of them. "We have many marines, not all of਍ഀ
them fully armed," he began. "We are going to assault the Mithrandir,਍ഀ
starting in Engineering." He looked at the head of the CE squad. "You਍ഀ
first, internal engineering, just like the drills. Beam in, neutralize਍ഀ
the enemy by any means and route all control of the ship to਍ഀ
engineering." He considered a second, then said "And I authorize you to਍ഀ
prep the ship for counter-enemy control. Explosives and detonators are਍ഀ
authorized to be used."਍ഀ

He had just given the order that would prep the ship for destruction, if਍ഀ
they couldn't get her back.਍ഀ
਍ഀ
The 1st Lt considered that for many moments, then said "Aye sir, Ill਍ഀ
prep the team. We can be ready for a full incursion in five minutes."਍ഀ

T'Vanek nodded, "Very well. Move." He turned to James as the CE quickly਍ഀ
exited, "You will be with me, we will be taking a Heavy Infantry group਍ഀ
into Engineering, and spreading them into the surrounding corridors.਍ഀ
Midnight can take engineering and hold it, it will be our job to hold਍ഀ
the corridors outside Engineering long enough for them to either regain਍ഀ
control, or rig the ship for complete destruction." He paused as he did਍ഀ
some mental figures in his head, "According to every drill I have਍ഀ
overseen from this Combat Engineering group, either action would require਍ഀ
three minutes, plus or minus two. If all goes well, the rest of our਍ഀ
squads should be able to join us within fifteen minutes. Once we have਍ഀ
more resources in combat, we will move to secure the armory, so we can਍ഀ
arm the rest of the men. Any questions?"਍ഀ

T'Vanek brought up the schematic of the Mithrandir and loaded it into਍ഀ
his BDU processor. They were going to have a very tough five to ten਍ഀ
minutes worth of combat until all units could be brought to bare. That਍ഀ
was the downside to such small craft as runabouts, only so many men਍ഀ
could fit into one. T'Vanek estimated a 40 - 60 percent minimum loss in਍ഀ
manpower within 'Hell Trembles', and at least a 50% loss within the਍ഀ
Combat Engineers. The losses would be heaviest for the Heavy Infantry਍ഀ
group, as they would be dealing with every fresh assault the enemy could਍ഀ
muster while the CE's did what they were designed to do; take the ship਍ഀ
back by force or completely destroy her so the enemy couldn't use her.਍ഀ
Both squads would be doing exactly what they trained to do, only this਍ഀ
was no drill.਍ഀ

But, they were all Marines. It was their duty to bleed for the਍ഀ
Federation.਍ഀ

T'Vanek took a deep breath with his eyes closed and repeated a Vulcan਍ഀ
mantra to himself in preparation for the upcoming attack. It was਍ഀ
something he always did before a major action, to assure that he would਍ഀ
go into combat logically, and not for hot blooded reasons. He slowly਍ഀ
exhaled, then focused inward to his HUD so he could see the readiness of਍ഀ
both squads.਍ഀ
਍ഀ
The mission was haphazard, but this was what the Marines trained to do.਍ഀ
The Combat Engineers would be the primary attackers on Engineering, and਍ഀ
would then either gain control of the ship or rig her to blow. The Heavy਍ഀ
Infantry would immediately proceed to the outer corridors to prevent਍ഀ
anyone else from getting into Engineering proper. This was the plan,਍ഀ
strait forward and operational. And it began in less then thirty਍ഀ
seconds.਍ഀ
਍ഀ
As MCO, T'Vanek would put himself wherever the fighting was going to be਍ഀ
worst. That meant beaming over with the CE's, and then joining Hell਍ഀ
Trembles once engineering had been secured. It put him at high personal਍ഀ
danger, but he had sworn his life to the Federation, his life was the਍ഀ
Marines, and with the marines he would perish if need be.਍ഀ
਍ഀ
A sharp 'click' filled the room as the XO of 5-to-Midnight slapped a਍ഀ
scope onto his Compression Phaser Rifle. Other CE's were already਍ഀ
arranging themselves in crouches or protective positions in a circle in਍ഀ
preparation for Transport. The CE's with the 'little black bags', the਍ഀ
explosives, were in the middle of the group with phasers out. They would਍ഀ
be the most dangerous right after beaming, since one stray shot hitting਍ഀ
the 'bag' could blow the entire ship to pieces.਍ഀ
਍ഀ
He looked over at James and the CO of Hell Trembles. The CO gave a਍ഀ
thumbs up, then grabbed his weapon in both hands. He looked over at਍ഀ
James, "Are you ready, Lieutenant?"਍ഀ

On their way to the second moon, the Mithrandir was still attacked by the਍ഀ
little fleet of the Federation peoples, the phaser canons were destroying਍ഀ
fighters one by one.਍ഀ

Then several blips came from the Ops Console " Report Soldier, what's that਍ഀ
?" Kromir asked.਍ഀ

The soldier looked up from his console " Well...Sir..it's the intruder਍ഀ
alert, according to the internal sensors, several people have been਍ഀ
transported from one shuttle to Engineering." he explained਍ഀ
਍ഀ
" WHAT...How is it possible, YOU are telling me that Federation people are਍ഀ
for the moment in MY ship. You are all incompetent." he yelled in slamming਍ഀ
his fist on the console.਍ഀ
਍ഀ
He thought for a moment and ordered with flames in his eyes " Soldier, seal਍ഀ
the bridge, transfer the Engineering commands to here and cut the life਍ഀ
support systems on all decks, except for our location."਍ഀ
਍ഀ
" But Colonel our people...." the Crytonian soldier began to reply but the਍ഀ
foolish Officer didn't let him finished " IT'S AN ORDER, YOU'LL DO WHAT I਍ഀ
SAY OR I'LL KILL YOU RIGHT NOW FOR INSUBORDINATION." he yelled in standing਍ഀ
up, dragging his sonic pistol and pointing it in direction of the OPS਍ഀ
console.਍ഀ

" Euh.........Understood Sir." the soldier replied in beginning to enter the਍ഀ
deadly commands into his console.਍ഀ
਍ഀ
Kromir retook some composture, sat down and declared with a sarcatic tone "਍ഀ
Now let's see how they will managed to regain control of their ship, He, He,਍ഀ
He..."਍ഀ

In combat, there is little that is more impressive then a group of fully਍ഀ
motivated Marines with all their gear. And within the Marines, there are਍ഀ
few more efficient at death and destruction then the Combat Engineers.਍ഀ
Within moments of their beam-in, the two Explosives handlers had jumped਍ഀ
for cover with their packages as the rest of the team opened fire on਍ഀ
surprised enemy targets. T'Vanek took out one person a few seconds after਍ഀ
the CE's had kicked into action, then ducked behind a console as a਍ഀ
couple others opened fire.਍ഀ
਍ഀ
Chatter, Target Calls and coordinates suddenly burst into his helmet as਍ഀ
the Marines all over engineering flowed into combat. He looked over his਍ഀ
shoulder briefly to visually verify that the other squad had beamed in,਍ഀ
then looked back just in time to see one of the CE's get cut nearly in਍ഀ
half by three separate enemy beams at once. T'Vanek took immediately aim਍ഀ
with dispassion and took three rapid-succession shots with his rifle.਍ഀ
Two of the three enemy beings fell over with sizable holes in them a਍ഀ
moment later.਍ഀ
਍ഀ
The battle was short, but very intense. The enemy, caught by surprise,਍ഀ
fell to the experience of the CE's within two minutes. After the last਍ഀ
fell, the Vulcan was on his feet to check the enemy, to see if there਍ഀ
were any survivors for later interrogation. He only found one.਍ഀ
਍ഀ
He inspected a couple of the bodies briefly, then stood and swung around਍ഀ
to get a view of Engineering. Three of the CE's had fallen to enemy਍ഀ
fire, and one more was wounded. But, no time was being wasted in਍ഀ
mourning. The two explosives handlers were rapidly setting up charges on਍ഀ
the Anti-matter intakes, one other was programming the computer to਍ഀ
bypass the Self-destruct and blow manually. The rest had slung their਍ഀ
weapons and were babbling back and forth as they worked feverishly to਍ഀ
regain control of the ship and route every control to the bridge.਍ഀ
਍ഀ
T'Vanek walked up to one of the consoles. "Report." he said shortly.਍ഀ
਍ഀ
Johnson didn't respond for several moments, he was fully concentrating਍ഀ
on the Master Situation Terminal. T'Vanek didn't push, this was the CE's਍ഀ
element, not his. After several moments, which T'Vanek used to catch up਍ഀ
with the other squad on his HUD, the CO said "The enemy force has routed਍ഀ
all control out of engineering, we are working to bypass.. Estimate five਍ഀ
minutes before we can fully circumvent the bridge."਍ഀ
਍ഀ
"All life support has been cut to all decks but the bridge, Sir."਍ഀ
਍ഀ
T'Vanek considered that little dilemma for a few moments. "They will਍ഀ
find themselves quite mistaken if they think to kill us." he said at਍ഀ
least. The EVO/C was completely self contained with its own atmosphere਍ഀ
control. Only those with damaged BDU's were in danger of suffocation,਍ഀ
and the emergency kits contained a pressure sealant for those BDU's too਍ഀ
badly damaged for the Nanite technology to fix in time. The surviving਍ഀ
marines were in absolutely no danger from suffocation.਍ഀ
਍ഀ
He considered for a bare three seconds more, then said "Work to regain਍ഀ
control of all systems, life support included. But report to me before਍ഀ
you engage life support again. This has given us an unexpected਍ഀ
opportunity."਍ഀ
਍ഀ
"Yessir." was the short reply as the CE moved off to find another਍ഀ
station.਍ഀ
਍ഀ
The Vulcan quickly turned on his heel and headed for the outer door of਍ഀ
engineering. With the enemy themselves suffocating, it was time for Plan਍ഀ
B. Hell Trembles would have far more to do then guard duty once most of਍ഀ
the air was taken back and the enemy was no longer a threat to਍ഀ
engineering.਍ഀ

Kromir was relieved, there were no more sounds battle coming from਍ഀ
Engineering, the Federation Marines had probably overwhelmed his men but਍ഀ
they were now certainly suffocating.਍ഀ
਍ഀ
The moon was in sight, in a few minutes the mining base will be at weapons਍ഀ
range, a full volley of quantum torpedoes and there will be no more CLO਍ഀ
leaders. It will mean the end of the rebellion and the strengthening of the਍ഀ
Black Order's seizure on the Crytonian world.਍ഀ
਍ഀ
Today will be a turning point in the Crytonian history and Lemssinx's name਍ഀ
will be put in the history files. But the voice of the Ops Officer brought਍ഀ
him back to the reality " Colonel, someone in Engineering is trying to਍ഀ
regain control of all the systems. It's certainly the Marines, they are਍ഀ
still alive even with the life support off line, our men are dead for਍ഀ
nothing Colonel. You've killed them.." the Soldier declared in forgetting to਍ഀ
who he was talking.਍ഀ
਍ഀ
Kromir turned to him, with anger in the eyes " It's the second time Soldier,਍ഀ
I've warned you." and he fired in his direction. The soldier hadn't the time਍ഀ
to react, he took the sonic blast directly on his chest and fell dead on the਍ഀ
floor.਍ഀ
਍ഀ
Feeling that he was perhaps loosing his authority he turned his pistol to਍ഀ
the three remaining officers on the bridge " All right, time for you to make਍ഀ
your choice, are you with me or against me ? " he asked his finger on the਍ഀ
trigger, ready to fire.਍ഀ
਍ഀ
The three devoted Officers nodded affirmativelly and went back to their਍ഀ
work.਍ഀ
Kromir was thoughtfull, then he ordered " Even if we've sealed the bridge,਍ഀ
we won't stand against those Marines, they are knowing the place better then਍ഀ
us and they will be certainly here before we could destroy the CLO HQ.਍ഀ
Sergeant, armed all the torpedoes ; Lt, set a collision course with the the਍ഀ
mining base and try to lock on the commands, you've got to find something."਍ഀ
then turning to the Officer at the Engineering station " Put back online the਍ഀ
life support system, we'll try to reach a shuttle."਍ഀ
਍ഀ
" Torpedoes armed and locked Sir." stated the Gunmaster, " Collision course਍ഀ
set and locked Sir." stated the helmsman, " Life support back online਍ഀ
Colonel." stated the third Officer.਍ഀ

" Good, I'm proud of you, your devotion will be rewarded, let's move now."਍ഀ
Kromir stated in moving to the doors, followed by his men, sonic pistols in਍ഀ
hands, ready to fire.਍ഀ

Several vessels had been squatted out by the Mirthandir, but now the marines਍ഀ
had boarded and had took engineering. As John kept the Alamo in close to the਍ഀ
Mirthandir maintaining transporter distance his panel began to go crazy.਍ഀ
John's hand flew over to the warning light.਍ഀ

~Oh my god<~ John thought to himself looking at the read out.਍ഀ

"Commander, they have set a collision course for the mine and from what the਍ഀ
scans show they are moving through the ship towards the shuttle bay," John਍ഀ
yelled.਍ഀ

there he unholstered his phaser and pointed it towards the interior of the਍ഀ
cockpit waiting for the transport to place them on the bridge.਍ഀ

"Transport complete," Tagon announced the marine incusion into the਍ഀ

"Commander, the Crytonians have purged the atmosphere from all sections but਍ഀ

While he monitored the progress of the marines he continued to reroute power਍ഀ
਍ഀ
to keep the shields at maximum power. He noted that the Mirthandir changed਍ഀ
couse towards the mining colony.਍ഀ

"Commander," John yelled, "they have set a collision course for the mine and਍ഀ
from what the scans show they are moving through the ship towards the਍ഀ
shuttle bay."਍ഀ
਍ഀ
"It could be worse," Tagon said. "They could have activated all of the਍ഀ
photon torpedo warheads. Ah yes, they did that too."਍ഀ
਍ഀ
"Sir, might I suggest I transport over to the Mirthandir with Ensign Johnson਍ഀ
and a few others to secure the helm and change the course?" Wilson asked the਍ഀ
CO.਍ഀ

Then he turned to Tagon, "Ensign Johnson and Ensign Tagon, your with me,"਍ഀ
਍ഀ
Tagon unwedged himself from the tactical station and squeezed onto the਍ഀ
transporter pad. It was a little cozy on the pad for Tagon. He looked at਍ഀ
Wilson as he unholstered his phaser. Tagon smiled as he displayed the਍ഀ
phaser rifle he still carried as well as the plasma grenades.਍ഀ
਍ഀ
He must have looked quite the sight, shirtless, in trousers that e=were far਍ഀ
to small, holding the weapons he was holding. It was like a character from਍ഀ
a holonovel. Hopefully it will have a distractive effect on the remaining਍ഀ
Crytonians.਍ഀ

ready to take control of the ship incase Lt. Wilson had any problems.਍ഀ

were blinking red and the klaxon alert was going. Ryan saw Tagon walk over਍ഀ

hit the ground he finally felt the ship was stationary. John pushed his body਍ഀ
up and stood holding his head.਍ഀ

Ryan saw Lt. Wilson limping back to the command chair. Ryan saw that Lt.਍ഀ
Wilson was trying to walk like he was not hurt. Ryan could see in Lt.਍ഀ
Wilson's eyes and the way he was walking that the Lt. had pride.਍ഀ

Lt. Wilson moved back over to the chair limping a little from the bump from਍ഀ

Ryan saw Lt. Wilson press the com link once more. Ryan wanted to tell Lt.਍ഀ
Wilson to go ahead and get checked out in sick bay but Ryan knew that there਍ഀ
was other crew members who needed help first. Plus Lt. Wilson had a few਍ഀ
more things to do before he could rest. Like getting the crew back on the਍ഀ
ship. As far as fixing the ship, the rest of the crew could do that.਍ഀ

"USS Mirthandir to Runabout Alamo, the ship is now stationary we cannot਍ഀ
start docking because the shuttle bays have been burned out. However we can਍ഀ
start transports,"਍ഀ

Ryan looked at the back of Lt. Wilson's head. "Sir. I'm rerouting power to਍ഀ
areas that need them also I have activated the emergency holo doctor in਍ഀ
sickbay." Ryan with a little worry on his face now. "Sir you might want to਍ഀ
go to sick bay when you get a chance or at least have me check you out."਍ഀ
