He was told that he was going to be traveling to Starbase 2 with Ensign Shran, since the two of them were both being assigned there. They were traveling with three other runabouts that were being assigned to Starbase 2. Once Kyp had found out who he was traveling with, he looked up Ensign Shran on the Academy Roster. He found that he was going to be a ACMO at the starbase, but he wanted to look into his personal files to figure out whether he was going to have to subdue Ensign Shran to escape to the 52nd Fleet. He couldn't find anything, so he was going to have to talk to him about traitorous schemes. Kyp wasn't looking forward to this, because he didn't want to feel sorry if the situation deemed that he would have to terminate the Ensign. Kyp's flight wasn't supposed to leave until 9.00, but he went down to the landing pad a few hours early to prep the runabout for launch and make a few modifications. He had planned out his escape perfectly: There was an asteroid belt along the way to Starbase 2, and Kyp planned to take the runabout through the asteroid belt (a suicide maneuver). He wasn't afraid, though. He was a Class 5 pilot, and he was very sure that an asteroid belt wouldn't be too hard. Once in the asteroid belt, eliminate all of the other runabouts and find a ship in the 52nd Fleet. Kyp knew where to go to find someone from the Fleet, because he had hacked the Academy database the day before. Ensign Shran came down to the landing pad a few minutes before their flight was supposed to leave. Kyp cheerfully greeted him, "Good morning, Ensign! Lovely day, isn't it!" "Good Morning" Shran replied cheerfully, "I am Shran Me'levtel its good to meet you" he said while shaking ensign Durron' s hand. Shran tossed his bags down and took the seat next to Durron. "Okay, well we leave in a few minutes, I've already prepped the ship for launch and long term flight. No need to worry there. Oh, by the way, my name is Kyp Durron. I'm going to be the ACEO of Starbase 2. Kyp speaking to Shran: "I hear your going to be a ACMO. I've heard that being a doctor's hard, is that true?" Shran smiled "It can be when our patience are stubborn, and refuse to stay in sick bay, but its actually a pretty cushy job, its easier than the other position I applied for" "What position was that?" Kyp said, a little perplexed because he had found nothing on the database that suggested that Shran had applied for a different position. Kyp started the preflight sequence and continued listening to Shran. Shran shrugged "I was originally supposed to be a security/tactical officer, but the academy commandant felt that the fleet had too many of those so I took my choice second choice as a medical officer" "Hmm," Kyp said contemplatively, "I've never heard of there being too many security officers. That's a little weird." He gave a short chuckle then called over the comm. to the other runabouts. =/\=Runabout 2 ready for take off. How about the rest of you?=/\= Shran smiled "eh it was his opinion, I'd be good in both positions but I only had to choose one" he said checking over the tactical systems =/\=All of us are ready. Taking off now=/\= "Wow, a doctor that can kick butt if sick bay is being invaded." Kyp laughed out loud this time as they lifted off the runabout off of the platform and headed into space. Once out of the atmosphere, they kicked the engines up to full impulse. Kyp once again felt that comfortable rumble of the engines. They went to warp after leaving the system. Shran laughed "You better believe it, I don't think anyone will ever give me a hard time while I'm in sickbay" he said taking one last look at earth "so what's the e.t.a?" "Well, that depends. If we're going to Starbase 2, nine and a half hours. But, if we were going say...to the 52nd Fleet, about three days," Kyp said, starting to tense up, having reached a critical point. "Honestly Shran, are you happy about what Doenitz is doing to the Federation and Starfleet?" sweat beads starting to pop out on his brown-skinned forehead. Shran frowned "To be quiet honest no, in fact I believe the federation is starting to lose sight of everything, I mean I'm as patriotic as the next person, if the people who are in charge of me say its a good idea than I'd usually agree, but what Doenitz is doing is just making life more complicated" he said frowning even more "But am only a sub-ensign what does my opinion matter to some Starfleet big shot" "It's not going to matter on this side of the quasi civil war we're in," Kyp said, letting out a deep breath, relieved that he wasn't going to have to fight with Shran on a runabout, he didn't want to fight an Andorian, as they tend to be very good fighters. "But, if we join the 52nd Fleet, we can fight on the side of the good guys. We can do as much as we can on the side of the people trying to restore what's right." Kyp was working as hard as he could to convince Shran to join him at this point. Shran smiled again "I suppose your right" he said looking down at the systems one more time "Well whatever the Fleet CO says goes, it wouldn't make any sense for anyone to put up a fight" he continued to look at the weapons systems "If we do join the 52 fleet I can see my brothers their stationed there I'm not sure where but I know their in the fleet" Kyp was glad to hear that Shran was mostly on his side now, and recounted his plan to Shran. "If we bread off from the group in two hours, and head for this asteroid belt, we can escape. They will follow us, because everyone is all up tight about defectors, and they will get blown up in the asteroid belt. Then we head for the 52nd Fleet and hope that we run into someone." Kyp said with a sheepish grin on his face. Shran smile became bigger "you know I like the way you think Durron, we will become good friends" he said patting him on the back "There is no foreseeable danger in that plan, lets do it" he said now charging the weapons just incase "Yeah, no danger. Unless my piloting skills aren't as good as my certification says." Kyp said, laughing merrily. ~I hope we don't get caught.~ Shran laughed with "If we get into any trouble, I'll find some way to get us out of it, I'm a quick thinker" he said proudly ~Lets just hope nothing goes wrong~ (Reply None) (Posted by Ben and Justin) ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Mission: Into the Gates of Hell Day: 5 Stardate: 2407.01.08 (Unknown asteroid belt, Runabout, Ensign (jg) Kyp Durron and Ensign (jg) Shran Me 'levtel - 11:06) After about a days flight, they were a quarter of a light year away from the asteroid belt. Kyp spun the craft left and headed for the asteroid belt. =/\=Runabout 2, where are you going?=/\= "Don't answer it," Kyp said, and continued to speed toward the belt. He slowed down to 1/16 impulse as he reached the asteroid belt and flew straight in. "Shran, keep feeding me the data from the belt as fast as you can, I'm not getting it fast enough if I hope to avoid these asteroids!" Shran looked cautiously at Durron ~here's trouble~ he said to himself. Shran did as he was asked "Lets just hope your piloting skills will get us through this" he said looking deeply at Durron . "Don't worry, the data is coming through fast enough, now. You just keep firing at those runabouts to make them continue to chase us. I'm a Level 5 pilot, all of them are Level 2." Kyp continued to soar through the asteroid field, and it was getting harder the farther he went into it to avoid collisions. "Bring the inertial dampers down to 45%. I will have better maneuverability then. Shran looked a bit more confident he did as he was asked. Tactically wise this wasn't smart but Shran didn't care "Alright hold on time I'm forwarding energy to the port phasers." Kyp didn't smile anymore with the fun of flying the runabout, he had a hard set face, whose attention was focused on flying the ship. Two of the three pursuing ships had exploded at this point, one from Shran's phaser blasts and the other from a head-on collision with an asteroid. "Alright shields are holding in place, we can do this" he said looking sternly "I'm ready damage to our right nacelles" Kyp noticed that after about a half hour of near misses in this hellacious flight that the asteroids started to thin out, and that last runabout hadn't been destroyed yet. "You know what Shran, I really don't like this guy. Don't worry about the nacelle, it'll hold. I specially rigged this runabout for intense damage. ~I hope all of these modifications of mine hold up, I can't go to warp six with a broken nacelle.~ Shran smiled "Don't worry about him, I've got him" as soon as he has said it the phasers fired at the ships shields. Shran frowned "He just won't be shake off, I have to fire a torpedo or two at him" he said smiling evilly "Direct hit he couldn't catch us if he even tried" he said laughing a to himself. The other runabout stalled and was destroyed as an asteroid crashed into his ship. A few minutes later, they left the asteroid belt. Kyp was soaking wet with sweat, and was exhausted from all of the intense flying he was doing. ~the simulations at the academy couldn't compare to this~ Shran looked over to Durron "No problem, and the nacelle didn't take that much damage, just a scratch, its completely safe we just can go past warp 6.5" he said looking over at Durron "Shran, take the helm, I need to rest for a few seconds. Is the damage to our nacelle bad enough that we can't go to warp?" Kyp said wearily. "Wow, this ship is only supposed to go up to warp 5.2. I didn't know I got it up to warp 6.5. All right, find another ship out here, we need to find another ship within about fourteen hours distance. I don't think this ship could handle high warp after about twelve hours, and engine will fail after about two hours later. I'm going to sleep, I'm exhausted," Kyp headed to the sleeping compartment of the ship and left Shran at the helm. He fell asleep before he hit the bed. Shran took control ~according to this the paladin is the closest ship in range~ Shran set course for the Paladin he hoped they'd accept them with open arms. Shran sat in his chair making sure no one was following them "E.T.A to rendezvous with Paladin 26 hours 30 minutes" he said aloud hoping Durron would hear him. The news that the away teams had encountered hostiles on board did not sit well with her. Nor the fact of sporadic contact with the away teams. Currently communication with the away teams was possible, but Eva knew that could change again in an instant. "Both away teams are returning to base sir", said Lt T`Vhor. "ETA to rendezvous twelve minutes", he added. "Good," Eva said nodding, "Both teams are to go through complete decontamination before having access to the rest of the ship. Coordinate with medical to ensure that the away teams do not potentially contaminate the rest of the crew." Eva nodded toward the lift with her head as she finished speaking, signaling that she wanted T'Vhor to over see the matter personally. (Reply T'Vhor) Once T'Vhor had left the Bridge, Eva looked over at Ensign Brownlee at the CONN. "Once the runabouts have docked, move us away from the alien vessel to 10 million kilometers," Eva ordered. (Reply Brownlee) Eva leaned back in the command chair, her eyes once more going to the alien ship on the main viewer. Her mind going over various possibilities. The captain ordered T'Vhor to put them all through decon, but it was just routine. Once T'Vhor stepped into the turbolift, the captain turned back to the helm. "Once the runabouts have docked, move us away from the alien vessel to 10 million kilometers," Eva ordered. "Aye, sir." Christian answered, programming the command into the console. Christian kept his hand off the button marked "Engage" until the captain gave the order. In the meantime, he thought about what they must have found on that ship. (reply any, none) (posted by Spencer) (USS Paladin -Deck 15, Biohazard chambers - CMO, Lt. After the monitors were active and power steady he tapped his combadge. "Lt. T'Vor this is Dr. Keller, I'm in biohazard now and ready to receive the Away Teams. (Reply: T'Vor, any) (Posted by Charles) (Shuttle Craft - FO Lt. Cmdr Calvin Capps - 12:55) Team one and team two had some how escaped from the alien vessel. Both teams were now back on their respected shuttle craft and now on their way back to the Paladin. Calvin was unable to talk to Lt. Brownlee about how their mission went. He wanted to get off the unknown vessel as fast as possible. He touched a few buttons on the console in front of him and saw Captain Stratons face appear on the screen. He could also see various other bridge personal on screen including Lt. T'Vhor. "Captain our ETA is now 5 minutes. We ran into a lot of things on that ship. I look forward to telling you when I get back. However I suggest we take every precaution. I think both teams should go through decontamination. Ensign Dunn was attacked, but he seems to be ok now." Calvin thought back to how Ensign Dunn had a bone sticking out of his body, but then all of sudden when he passed some type of barrier the alien beings and the puncture wound in his body disappeared. It was as if the attack never happened. "I will explain later Captain. I also believe we should limit the personal in the shuttle bay the Shuttles will be landing in. They should be wearing their protective suits in case the shuttles have been contaminated as well Captain." (reply Wes) "Calvin out." Calvin was happy that the first away mission to the alien vessel was over. There were a lot of things that happened on that vessel that Lt. Cmdr Capps was not expecting. Calvin knew however that this entire mission with this unknown vessel was still not finished. They hadn't gotten to the bottom of the cookie jar yet. Calvin kept in the back of his mind that there still could be yet another away mission, but next time they would be more prepared. Lt. Cmdr Capps could now see the Paladin and he felt good that he was going to be stepping back on familiar ground. He looked around, and then his heart sunk deep. People were lost, and no commanding officer never wanted that. But today it had happened to Calvin. He wished he could turn back time, and fix everything that went wrong. He would have to wright to the families of the lost. Hopefully they would understand. (reply Wes, ALL) (posted by Calvin Capps) (USS Paladin - Hanger bay two - TAC/SC T`Vhor - 12:56) T`Vhor was standing in the launch control booth in hanger bay two awaiting the arrival of the two incoming shuttles when his comms badge chirped to signal an incoming communication. He tapped the badge accordingly & looked out onto the grey slab of decking with it`s usual yellow placement & routing markings as the familiar voice of the Doctor came in. =/\=Lt. T'Vhor this is Dr. Keller, I'm in biohazard now and ready to receive the Away Teams=/\= "The away teams are on route now Doctor", said T`Vhor, "ETA is now four minutes, they will be beamed to your location the moment they disembark the shuttles", he added. (Reply Keller, IYW) "The crews of each shuttle have been briefed, they know what to expect", said T`Vhor. Then checking OPS on the bridge for neccesary landing clearance, he returned to Doctor Keller via the communicator. "Please stand by Doctor", said T`Vhor as he turned his attention to the hanger bay doors which had already begun opening & initiating the hanger forcefields . (Reply Keller) (Posted by Alan Reading) (USS Paladin - Bridge - CO, Captain Eva Straton - 12:56) =/\=I will explain later Captain. I also believe we should limit the personal in the shuttle bay the Shuttles will be landing in. Commander," Eva replied coldly, "I will expect a full report as soon as possible upon your return. I have already ordered Lt T'Vhor to over see the landing of the runabouts and to see to it that all precautions are taken to prevent any contamination to the Paladin or her crew." (Reply Capps) After the comm-channel had closed, Eva tapped her comm-badge. "Straton to Dr. Keller. I will need a report on the status of the away team members as soon as you have one," She said, moving over to the tactical station and looking over the shoulder of the junior officer who had taken over for T'Vhor. (Reply Keller, Capps, Any) (Posted by Wes) (USS Paladin - Bridge - OPS Ensign Knightley - 12:57) Ensign Knightley continued to stare at her boyfriend on the view screen. She was really happy that he was safe, and not hurt. She was relieved that only in minutes now that he would be going through decontamination and then shortly after she would be able to see him. She wished she could see him now, but she knew he couldn't. She stayed as professional as possible, and she knew she was doing a good job. As she sat at her ops console and was running the normal and sometimes not so normal operations on the ship she had heard the suggestion that Lt. Cmdr Capps gave to the Captain. She had already started the preparation for science teams and engineering teams to investigate the shuttle craft in case the Captain decided to go through with the First Officers suggestion. As Elizabeth looked back up from her console, and toward the main view screen she saw that Calvin's face had turned in to the picture of the alien vessel that appeared to be floating in space. She continued to work at her console and awaited for further orders. (reply any, all) (posted by Calvin Capps) (USS Paladin - Main Hangerbay, Shuttle - FO Lt. Cmdr Capps - 13:01) The hanger bay doors begun opening & initiating the hanger forcefields. Seconds later two shuttlecrafts flew threw the forcefield. The bright blue light of the force field allowed the shuttles to smoothly fly threw, but at the same time keeping an air tight gap. The shuttlecrafts soflty landed onto the cold metal surface of the hangerbay. Calvin knew that at least one hour of decontamination was ahead. It was something that Calvin never looked forward to. The last landing procedures were being finished, and the First Officer began to contact the Dr. and Lt. T'Vhor. "Lt. Cmdr Capps to Dr. Keller and Lt. T'Vhor. You may began transporting us to biohazzard." Calvin felt the transporters start to tug on his body. (reply any, all) (posted by Calvin Capps) (USS Paladin - Decontamination chamber control room - CMO, Lt. (jg) Jared Keller - 13:02) =^=Lt. Cmdr Capps to Dr. Keller and Lt. T'Vhor. You may began transporting us to biohazzard.=^= "All right everyone look alive." Jared called. "Initiate sterile field and begin transporting over the away teams." "Yes Dr. Keller." Dr Maybrey said. The Dr. had worked his way back into Jareds good graces since the Greg Dunn debacle. "Transporting." Jared watched the readouts closely for the decon chamber as the members of the teams began to materialize. The power flow was steady, atmosphere at normal and holding and environment stable. The sterile field jumped a bit during transport as was normal but after they were in place the environment contamination warning began to sound stridently. "What the he..?" Jared began and began typing furiously. "Doctor look at this." Dr. Maybrey said in horror. Jared looked to where he was pointing, it was Ensign Dunn or was it? He appeared to be metamorphing. After his initial horror Jared slapped the transporter control and within seconds had transported Ensign Dunn to an isolation chamber away from the others, the environment overload alarm in the main chamber settled down quickly thereafter. The secondary chamber he had sent Greg into however began to sound. Jared shut off the alarm and brought the decontamination field in the isolation chamber to full strength while pumping in Caramethzine gas, it was a known biogenic stabilizer and he hoped that it wasn't too late. After the isolation chamber was set up he diverted some of the anti mutagen gas into the main chamber just in case then began checking vitals. "Dr. Maybrey I'm going to concentrate on Mr. Dunn here, watch the life signs of the main party." "Yes Doctor." ~Hmmm. Heartrate 130, bp 80 over 60. Body temperature 86 degrees. My god, what the hell went on over there?~ "I've got some abnormal trace signs Doctor but they are flattening out." Maybrey said. "Good, good." Jared said then hit the intercom for the main chamber. He waved at Lt. Commander Capps. "Commander could you give me a rundown on what you found over there?" Jared asked. "Ensign Dunn has been metastising. Do you have any hints you can give me about what he may have encountered?" He checked the readouts as the Lt. Commander formulated his answer. "It appears the main group is going to be fine." (Reply: Capps) (Posted by Charles) (USS Paladin - Decontamination Chamber - FO Lt. Cmdr Capps - 13:04) The tug on Calvin's body by the transporter begun to slowly fade away. He came to and immediately noticed that another transport was transporting Ensign Dunn some where else. He could only guess that there was something seriously wrong with his TAC/SEC officer. He looked toward Dr. Keller and his assistant. After a moment Dr. Keller and Dr. Maybrey finished speaking and finished their initial analysis of the away team. Dr. Keller then turned to Lt. Cmdr Capps. "Commander could you give me a rundown on what you found over there?" "We shuttled over to the alien vessel and we started to search different rooms. We walked into one specific room where we had discovered an alien being. They were all over the room. Sticking on walls, and even on ceilings. We fled that room and went for cover as fast as possible, but Greg was attacked. I thought I had lost him at that point, but a few minutes later he found us in another room where we were hiding. He had a large bone stuck into his body. We could all tell that he was starting to form into the alien beings that attacked him. Then something weird happened. We began to make our way back to the shuttlebay. We passed over like a barrier as this as a force field. When Ensign Dunn passed it, the bone was gone. He had no more flesh wound, but from the look of your face and the extra transport of Greg..there is still something wrong with him?" "Ensign Dunn has been metastising. Do you have any hints you can give me about what he may have encountered," asked Dr. Keller. "All I know it is was a hostile alien being. I have very limited tricorder readings, but there really isn't much information." Calvin took the tricorder from another officer in the chamber. He held it up so Dr. Keller could see it. "After you approve of its safety you are more than welcome to digest the information Dr." "It appears the main group is going to be fine," stated Dr. Keller. "That is very good news Dr. Please inform of all new information. I will try to help as much as possible. Everything happened so fast, and it was dark. Our lights had gone out. We were having a hard time saving our lives. There wasn't much time to run full scans, but we tried when ever we had the chance." Calvin wanted to sit down and calm down a little. He had been on the edge ever since the shuttle lifted off of the unknown vessel. He needed to clear his mind for a moment. "Dr. As I hear it. Lt. Brownlee might have some more information for you." (reply Keller, Brownlee, ALL) (posted by Calvin Capps) (USS Paladin - Decontamination Chamber - MCO Conner Tirrel - 13:04) The MCO & the rest of his marines stood in a state of operational readiness as they all began materialising one by one within the biohazard chamber. They had encountered hostiles during this mission that had been capable of taking direct control of crewmembers so he wasn`t taking any chances upon their return now. It was quite possible that something might go wrong with any one of them now they were back. Hence their vigilance in this matter. The moment he himself had fully materialised though, Conner stepped forwards towards the glass plated front of the room & gazed out at the medical team assembled outside as they fiddled with various medical equipment. As he did however, he was momentarilly startled as the alarm in the chamber began sounding & Ensign Dunn, as quickly as he had appeared had instantly faded from existence once again before their surprised faces. The marines behind were quick to go on the alert at the sound of the alarm, their rifles raising as they glanced around at the rest of the team members looking for signs of anything untoward happening to any one of them. Conner raised his hand abruptly in an indication for them to keep their cool & they responding quickly as it became clear that it was only Dunn that appeared to have a problem as he was instantly re-materialised in a seperate holding area next to theirs. This had certainly been an interesting away mission, not your usual run of the mill frag & decimate runs that the marines were familiar with, it was of course understandable that they were on their guard for an enemy unseen was the worst possible kind of foe & they all knew it. Lt Cmdr Capps by this time had approached the plate glass himself & was now holding a PADD up against it to the scrutiny of Doctor Keller outside. He had been explaining what they had encountered but seemed eager, as were all of them, to get out of decon & back to active duty. Conner however just needed a drink.... He then closed his eyes to rest a bit. Then, out of his left ear, he heard the first officer talking to him. "Lt. Brownlee might have some more information for you." The Captain of course had already cut the communication as a precautionary measure before turning to T`Vhor at his console. "Sensor readings?" She asked, "Any indication this might be a trap?" Before the Captain had even ordered it however, T`Vhor had checked for that possibilty. "None sir", said T`Vhor, "The Gallants shields are lowered & her weapons are offline", he added, turning to face Captain Straton as he spoke. "Everything they are saying appears to check out", said T`Vhor. Eva nodded at Knightley again, to un mute the channel. She then ordered the Gallant to proceed to the secondary hanger bay & await further orders before closing the channel. "Take a security team to the secondary shuttle bay and see to our defectors," She ordered, "Escort, them to my Ready Room once you've determined they don't pose an immediate threat." Greg stretched and began to pace up and down in the chamber... half an hour was a long way off. In boredom he sat on the floor and began to strip a compression rifle. That was when he came upon a small green crystal which was not part of a federation rifle. He held it up to the light and rotated it slightly. ~ Now what do we have here? ~ Greg narrowed his eyes and went into a semi-trance. Then it came to him...he had seen one of these crystals somewhere before... but where. Greg closed his eyes around the crystal and went into thought. Greg was sitting in the stations bar sipping a cold Guinness and he had noticed two shady looking characters sitting in a corner. They were huddled close together and were in deep conversation. Greg produced a small listening device he had often used to listen in on peoples private conversations. Even with the device he could hear only a few snippets of conversation. It`s exterior bore scorch marks along it`s hull at various points testifying to the story her crew had imparted to the Captain via their short communication. Diligence however was paramount & Lt T`Vhor knew that to make assumptions without first having all of the facts was a road that he would rather not be taking. In acknowledgment of this, the seasoned security officers hand now lay directly upon his sidearm as the door to the vessel opened & out stepped two men dressed in starfleet uniform. "Please remain where you are", said T`Vhor as he advanced towards the two men, eying them up & down looking for concealed weapons as he did so & noticing their own lack of sidearms in the process. He then stopped directly in front of them flanked by the two security officers that had arrived with him. "If you are carrying any concealed weapons, please hand them to me now", said T`Vhor, "A precautionary measure of course until we are satisfied that you are who you say you are & your intentions have been verified", he added. Lt T`Vhor imediately dismissed the two security members as he & the Gallants crew stepped out & onto the bridge. "I`ll take it from here", said T`Vhor. "Aye sir", said the two security officers in unison as the doors closed once again. Once on the bridge however, Durron & Shran looked about almost in awe as a few members of the bridge team looked towards them momentarilly distracted from their consoles by their arrival. As Ensign`s fresh out of the Acadamy, this was of course their first time on the bridge of a starship & that fact was quite visible now in their eyes as they took in the forward viewscreen & the alien vessel fixed motionless within it. Captain Straton was as calm as ever & still seated in the command chair overseeing reports on the away teams ongoing decontamination on the biohazard deck, she then turned towards the three men. This was his first time on an actual starship bridge, and he had never dreamed he would serve on a Merideth Class starship. ~Wow, this ship is awesome. I had only read about these types of ships. They are considered one of the elite classes of the ships in Starfleet.~ But then he remembered that he and Shran were still considered possible threats, and he sobered up quick and straightened his engineering uniform. He was aware that he and Shran looked like ensigns fresh out of the Academy, and hoped that they didn't think that he and Shran were spies or assassins sent to kill anyone or destroy the ship. They were at war, and she would not risk the safety of her ship or crew unduly. She had to know if these two men where really defectors or spies sent by Doenitz. ~If they ARE spies, they will find their stay most uncomfortable. However, if they are sincerely defecting, we need all the help we can get.~ Her brow rose as she clearly picked up the Andorian considering the possibility of trying to make a break for the shuttle bay, but dismissing it.
