SBFREEDOM-RPG: HADESRPG: (4 - 1532) CMO - Lt. Dural Methor DrPH
From: docholladay2021 at gmail.com (Todd Holladay)
Date: Sat, 16 May 2026 10:47:58 -0500

Mission: Homecoming
Day: 4
Stardate: 2446.10.19

(USS Hades - Sickbay - CMO, Lt Dural Methor DrPH - 1532)

Dural had never been part of an Engineering experiment... study.. before.
It was his duty to determine if the jump had any untoward effects on
biology that had been unreported or undiscovered. The incidents on Rutia IV
with a similar transportation method based on the Elway Theorem scaled down
for personal transport causing subtle eventually fatal shifts on the atomic
level, Starfleet Medical was understandably cautious. Dural had staged
several simpler life forms contained in incubators at several points
throughout the ship, a slosh of phytoplankton , a culture of harmless
staphylococcus, a nice batch of scarlet moss, all to confirm if this method
of travel has any affect on any type of lifeform.

Reports came in, the big jump happened. "And that's it." Dural announced,
"Does anyone feel any different?"

(Reply any, not required)

"Team alpha head forward to station one. Report back your findings." Dural
said, making a note. "Team beta, amidships..." noting again. "and last but
not least, gamma will go aft ventral. Any questions?"

"Sir, the sickbay doors won't open." one of the team members announced.

Just at that time, the lights flickered and the gravity went out.

Dural slapped his combadge as he began floating into the air. "Sickbay to
bridge." A few heavy moments went by, nothing. "Sickbay to engineering."
Another moment went by with no response.

"We now have a problem."

Mission: Homecoming
Day: 4
Stardate: 2446.10.19

(USS Hades - Deck 1 - Bridge - CO, Captain Keira Merek - 1534)

Keira heard an unleashing of fluid, like someone poured a bucket full of
liquid onto the deck. As she turned around to look the gravity gave out and
she felt a rush of air and all she could see was a green cloud as she tried
to hold her grip on the Captain's chair.

~We're under attack.~

She inhaled to speak her command urgently, instead of air, she absorbed a
lungful of green gas."Computer, this is Captain Keira Merek,
lock....out...."

She probably would have seen the room spinning as she became dizzy and
weak.

[Last command not received or understood. Please state again the last
command.]

SBFREEDOM-RPG: HADESRPG: (4 - 1537) Science Officer Ensign Lethor
From: docholladay2021 at gmail.com (Todd Holladay)
Date: Sat, 2 May 2026 23:31:31 -0500

Mission: Homecoming
Day: 4
Stardate: 2446.10.19

(USS Hades - Deck 1 - Bridge - Science Officer - Ensign Lethor - 1537)

It was amazing the things one could do with enough planning and
preparation. Lethor stood infront of the Security Chief of the starship
they were about to rob blind. His uniform and fabricated file showed he was
a Aamaarazan, who because of the atmosphere of their home planet and
biology could not survive in standard Federation atmosphere. This of
course, is a complete fabrication. The head to toe clothing standard of the
Aamaarazan culture in reality held sensor feedback units that told any
sensor scan he was who he appeared to be. The standard breathing apparatus
strapped to his back instead of converting standard nitrogen oxygen
atmosphere into something breathable for Aamaarazan physiology, stored some
of his tools.

The bulky Security Chief doubled down onto his knees and released from his
oral cavity something that Lethor imagined would smell very foul. He smiled
a smile that no one saw beneath his mask.

~A plan is a plan.~

"Transport." he said. On that command the Brikar disappeared into a
transporter beam. Alouron was very particular. No one dies, unless they try
to stop those in on the job. The transporter had to be used on the Brikar,
all the readouts they could get on the species preparing for this mission
said that Brikars could punch through a bulkhead and could likely shrug off
anything except maximum particle weapon settings. Keeping him locked away
in a transporter buffer using a veridian chip to lock on was one of the
only ways to accomplish the task, while still adhering to the specificity
of their orders.

In the confusion Lethor reached into the storage container on his back and
released two baseball sized objects. Just as the gravity kicked off he
released the spheres. They tumbled down between the Captain and first
officer and the Captain and second officer. They struck the deck and with
no gravity to hold them down they bounced lazily to about chest height to a
standing person. They released a high pressure green gas that enveloped the
center section of the bridge.

(Reply Williams, Jayc, Merek)

Unable to see through the deep green mist he could see the OPS and Helm
gripping their consoles to stay in their seats. The pirate slapped the
under panel and allowed the type II phaser to eject into his hand. He
leveled the weapon at the officers he could see. Two quick bursts of orange
light and the Helm and OPS officers slumped to the side, tangled into their
stations but very much alive.

His mask kept him safe from the knockout gas that could drop a Klingon, but
the lifesupport systems would quickly clear out the gas. So Lethor adjusted
the phaser to a wide ninety degree beam and waited to see if anyone exited
the gas.

Mission: Homecoming
Day: 4
Stardate: 2446.10.19

(USS Hades - Deck 1 - Bridge - FO- CMDR – Ire Williams - 1539)

The soft tone of the transporter engaging caughtIre’s attention. As he turned to see what had happened, he felt the shift ofgravity as the bridge’s gravity generators stopped. A hand moved out andgrabbed his arm rest to stabilize his drift. He saw two spherical objects driftacross the bridge heading towards himself, Merek and Jayc. He instinctively pushedoff the chair trying to get height as the objects released green gas below him whichbegan to fill the centre of the bridge.

~Ow this is not good~

He saw two bursts of phaser fire slice across thebridge below him hitting the OPS and Helm officer. He realized that he had beentargeted as he had been covered by the expanding gas but the life-supportsystem was working hard to clear the gas. He realized that his position wouldbe exposed with in seconds and he would be a floating target.

~Okay this is going to hurt~

He planted his feet against a bulk head took a deepbreath and then pushed off through the gas. He hoped that there would be somecover as he got out the other side.

SBFREEDOM-RPG: (4-1540) The Solice Family and Michael Weston
From: almuir62 at gmail.com (Al Muir)
Date: Sat, 2 May 2026 08:04:29 -0700

Mission: Homecoming

Day: 4

Stardate: 2446.10.19

(Planet Auberjonois - Solice Residence -- XO Commander Solice, SFI Michael
Westin, CMO Mike Solice, Holographic Programmer Lt. Rachel Solice, and
Solice Family -- 1540)

Rachel brought Michael and Quinna into residence. It opened to a kitchen,
table and chairs. The three looked. “So tell me about yourself and
everything but I have to know, how is Preston?”

A smile curled at the edge of her lips. “Preston is great. He followed
your footsteps in a way. He is a holonovel writer. Married and a dad.”

“I’m a grandmother?” Rachel said and Bryce came into the room.

Michael smiled at the sight of the boy. He couldn’t get over how much
resembled Quinna. The blonde hair and the piercing blue eyes. There were
some strong genetics.

Bryce looked, “Hi again,” He turned to Rachel, “Mom, what is going on?”
Rachel instructed Bryce to go and get his brothers. The boy ran off
obediently.

Quinna looked at Rachel’s hands. Showing signs of pain. Quinna looked up,
“Mom, do you know where my back bag is? It was taken from me.”

Rachel looks, “I am not sure. We will have to ask your dad.”

As if on cue Mike Solice threw open the door and stepped inside. “Here’s
daddy!” he said enthusiastically. He was trying to push the conversation
with Alexis into the back of his mind.

He moved over to take Weston’s hand again, “I’m so happy you’re here, on so
many levels. Thank you for bringing my daughter to us.”

Michael smiled and return the handshake. “It was my pleasure, sir. But to
be honest, I’ve been a passenger on this mission. This has all been her.”
He nodded towards Quinna.

Mike turned back to his daughter and swept her back into his arms. “Thank
God. I never thought we’d see you again.”

Quinna sat there in amazement. Her parents. More wrinkles. More gray
hair, but hers.

Mike stepped back and looked at Quinna, and her man friend standing beside
her. He took a moment to size the young man up. He was about Quinna’s age,
tall and, if he did say so himself, had a rugged handsomeness about him. He
looked like a man of action and his body showed that he could, most
probably, take care of himself and Quinna in time of… trouble.

Before he could open his mouth to say anything’s bustle of noise and energy
burst into the room in the form of three of the boys. Most of the noise
was from Bryce and Martin as they argued and poked at each other playfully.
Behind them came 22 year old Alex, wearing a tight, dirty shirt and a work
belt.

“Can you two please grow up,” Alex complained.

The two younger boys turned their playful energy on him. Amid all the chaos
the front door opened again and Mike Solice’s clone walked into the room,
their oldest son, Jonas.

Quinna looked up at the boys. “I can see you two have made the best of
life here. Four brothers?”

Rachel looked at her sons. She wished all her family was here. “Boy’s
have a seat.” and they did.

Jonas moved to the side of the sofa and sat on the edge of the arm.

“What you know is that we were on a Starship before we came here,” Rachel
went on. “I was already pregnant with Jonas at the time.”

“What?” Quinna asked, “Why did you not tell me?”

Rachel continued. What we did not tell you boys is that we had another
family, another life. This is Quinna. She is your sister. And I also
have another son, your brother, Preston.”

“Wait,” Jonas stood up, “we have a brother and sister you never told us
about?”

“You were pregnant when you left us?” Quinna said.

“You were young.” Rachel said, “You were 7.”

Quinna turned and said that she needed air. Apparently there was quite a
few bomb shells dropped today on everyone.

Michael looked at Rachel and took a deep breath and followed Quinna out of
the door. As he stepped out he could hear Jonas repeat his question.

“Mother,” Jonas voice was calm but clearly angry, “you had… have another
family and didn’t think to say anything to us… for twenty five years?”

Michael caught up to Quinna and reached out for her. “Quinna, are you
alright?”

Quinna paced. She stopped when she heard Michael, “You know, I guess …. I
never dreamed…. Mom was pregnant and they still left us behind…..” Quinna
calmed, “I guess I am just a little overwhelmed.”

Michael nodded and wrapped his arms around her to ground her. “I get that.
But remember, it was a different time and nobody imagined what had
happened. Perhaps we need to hear your mother out.”

“Am I wrong for feeling this way? They choose to bring babies into this
and choose not to bring us in.” But the real thing that was bothering
Quinna was not anything that she mentioned to Michael, But this, “They
choose to deny that Peston and I ever existed.”

Michael held her tighter, “I can’t tell you how you should or should not
feel, sweetheart. I can only say that we don’t have the full story. We
haven’t lived their last twenty-five years, so we can’t imagine what
decisions they had to make or their reasoning until we do. The question
really is, do you want to hear them out?”

“Of course I do,” Quinna clung to Michael. This is why he was here, to
help process, to keep a clear head, to make sure that Quinna stays grounded
to the situation. She took in his scent, which had now become her home
mentally, “This is all a lot. They still don’t know I outrank them.” A
joke to kill the tension.

Michael gave her cheek a peck and smiled, “This may be the perfect time to
pull rank, Commander.”

They separated and headed back inside the house, hand in hand. Michael
gave her hand a kiss as they passed through the doorway.

“And we’re back,” he announced.

Mike moved over to the couple and put a hand on Quinna’s cheek.
“Sweetheart, we are so sorry about what happened, but when we left you we
were only going to be gone for less than a week. And you and Preston were
so happy to spend a week with your grandmother. We had no idea… .” He
couldn’t bring himself to say the rest.

“It killed me when we were stranded here,” Rachel went on. “The thought of
you and Preston haunted me. My heart was breaking. I know I was pregnant
with Jonas at the time, but I could not leave your father. Your father
begged me to reconsider the house rule. I was so grief stricken that I
made the rule that you and Preston belonged to another life and not this
one. That other life that was gone, Destroyed.”

Quinna was still in Michael’s arms.

Michael looked from Rachel to Quinna. He understood where the older woman
was coming from, and how, after years of separation and the prospect of
never being rescued, could have led to that decision. He wasn’t sure he
could have done that. But then again, he didn’t have any kids. His eyes
fell on Quinna’s willing her to be understanding.

“I get that,” Quinna said, “but I have thought about nothing else but you
two everyday. Wondering what happened. Hoping that I would know. It just
hit hard that it was not reciprocal.”

“It was survival,” Rachel retorted.

Mike stepped between the two women saying, “Quinna, I understand why you’re
upset. I can’t even imagine what you went through. How hard it must have
been for you and Preston. But we had to find a way to live here.”

He turned to Jonas and the boys and continued. “When you were a baby,
Jonas, we tried to keep Quinna and Preston alive in our lives. But every
day it ate pieces of our hearts away. We’d wake up in the morning with hope
in our hearts, and every day of disappointment of no sign of rescue
continually reopened the wounds of our loss. It was affecting how we were
with you.”

Jonas stewed on that thought for a moment and took a deep breath. Even if
he had known he had a sister and a brother they’d be in the same position
they’re in now. They wouldn’t know anything about them. Perhaps it was
time they learned who, at least, this sister was.

He smiled, “Well then, maybe we should get to know her now. I’ve kept a …
special brew for a special occasion. I’d say this was as special of an
occasion as we’re gonna get.” He looked at Quinna and winked. “I’m the
town brewer. I’ve found some of the local flora makes a pretty good
alcoholic beverage. The old people,” he nodded at his parents, “call it
beer.”

Mike shook his head, “Old people? Who you callin’ old, whipper snapper.”

Martin brightened up, “Beer?! I’m in.”

Mike moved over to the sixteen year old and rubbed his head, “Afraid not,
son. Still a little too young.” He turned back to Quinna, “And if we’re
going to celebrate we may as well have a meal to match it. You two will
stay for dinner?”

Michael smiled, “We’d be honored.”

Lethor saw the turbulence in the green gas indicating someone had moved. He
depressed the firing actuator, the wide beam struck the deck in front of
the command seats. More movement, he fired another shot and struck a
console. The screen went dark as the display shorted.

"Which one is it? The Captain...?" A brief moment passed. "No blade
hurtling towards my head, probably not her. The Betazoid?"

(Reply Ire)

The gas was now less opaque and what was in it or on the other side of it
could be made out. He saw a figure in red command colors crouching behind
the console that was just shot. "Oh, good afternoon, Commander! Not so
tough without your fighter..."

(Reply Ire)

"This is Lethor, I'm meeting resistance on the bridge. Cut it off, no
power."

=^= Understood.=^=

"Look, Commander, I've been given orders not to kill any of you." He said
keeping the phaser leveled in the officer's direction.

(Reply Ire)

"Of course if you resist, that guarantee goes away. What we're after is
worth a rather large fortune, but it doesn't have to cost anyone their
life."

SBFREEDOM-RPG: (4-1545) Commander Casem Leal and Captain Alexis Swanson
From: almuir62 at gmail.com (Al Muir)
Date: Sat, 2 May 2026 15:26:39 -0700

Mission: Homecoming

Day: 4

Stardate: 2446.10.19

(Planet Auberjonois-Swanson Residence- Commander Casem Leal and Captain
Alexis Swanson- 1545)

Casem marched over to Alexis' habitat and stood on the front porch for a
moment, contemplating her next action. She knocked, out of courtesy, but
did not wait for a response, and entered the building.

Inside was dark, and it took her eyes a moment to adjust. Eventually she
was able see Alexis sitting on her sofa. She moved over to her and stood,
arms crossed.

“Really Alexis?” she questioned. “What was that all about?”

“I have no idea what you are talking about.” Alexis said.

“Don’t you?” Casem stepped forward. “The first positive move we have seen
to getting home and you tell Mike to send his daughter away?! Dismiss her
like she was of no use. What are you thinking?”

“I am thinking about it. Our Punishment, our Exile” Alexis paced, “I was
not thinking. It came back.” Alexis was at a frantic pace.

Casem took a deep breath and reeled her ire back in. She was more
disappointed than upset. Not with Alexis but with the situation. After the
years that had passed since the “incident” with Dr. Marl and Dr. Schwamm,
and she had hoped that it had dulled the memory somewhat.

Casem stepped up to Alexis as she paced closer to her. She took hold of the
woman’s shoulders and held onto her. She so badly wanted to hold Alexis in
her arms.

“Alexis,” she said gently, “that was a long time ago. And you were not to
blame.”

“I feel the enforcer lurking. Back in me again.” She collapse to the
floor.

Casem felt her heart jump. She was afraid, not so much for herself but for
Alexis. This “enforcer” and what happened to the scientists tormented her.
She always felt that she could have done more.

Reaching down Casem took hold of Alexis’ hands and kneels before her. This
was what had kept them apart all these years. Alexis could never forgive
herself for what happened. She always felt responsible.

Words came bubbling out before she could catch them, “Alexis, it was not
you. If it were… I could never feel the way I still do about you. I could
never… love you.

“I just do not want anything to happen to anyone else, and it will and you
know it.”

“No,” Cas said and pulled Alexis into her arms, “I do not know it will. But
I know you fear it will. But I’m here with you, always.”

“Do you think this this is a sign?” Alexis asked, “What do you make of all
it. Of all people to show up, it is that girl.”

Cas had to chuckle. She’d always admired how sensible Alexis was when it
came to command. But then she had this other side that was… superstitious.

“A sign?” she said. “If it is a sign, I think that sign might be that it’s
time we went home.”

Alexis shivered, “I am scared that this is a trick and there was something
else.” Alexis turned and paused, saying no more.

Casem could hear the pain and fear in the Betazoid voice. She wanted to
soothe her fear. Pull her into her arms and make her feel safe. Make her
feel loved.

She sat back on her heels and stroked her face, gently and lovingly, “Oh
Alex, to me it seems pretty real. It would be a pretty specific trick.
After all this time, maybe we can just accept it for what it is, a stroke
of good luck.”

“I am not sure if this is a test or not, but the man with Quinna, I was not
trying to but he controls his thoughts, but his only thoughts are of her.”

“Quinna?” Casem was surprised and not surprised. “I guess it’s hard to hide
love.” She looked at Alexis and wondered if she was reading her feelings
towards her. Not for the first time Casem felt the urge to lean forward and
kiss Alexis. She could almost feel the redhead's lips on hers.

Their timing always sucked, when Casem was ready, Alexis was not, and when
Alexis was ready, Casem was not but this time, Alexis decided not to hold
back. She let Casem in.

Suddenly, Casem could feel a flood of emotions stream through her mind. It
took her a moment to realize that they were not her own. Like fingers
stroking her mind she could feel Alexis’ presence, and she could feel her
body respond.

“And what are you after?”

"A little fame, some latinum thrown my way, wouldn't mind some
companionship." The disguised Orion laughed at his own joke. "I get a bonus
if no one dies....but to be fair..."

He couldn't finish the thought a piece of equipment sped past him, a
distraction. The second one hurtled right at his head, and he instinctively
brought his hands up, and deflected it. The Commander was within arm's
reach before he knew it, seemingly flying through the air. Lethor swung his
phaser up trying to get a firing solution.

It seemed to fall right into the pilot's plan. He gripped the outstretched
phaser arm, using the momentum he got the pirate spinning. Before Lethor
knew it, he was hurtling twoard the starboard bulkhead. The impact knocked
the wind out of him, and he lost the grip on the phaser that went tumbling
toward the aft stations.

(Reply Ire)

"It'll be worth losing the bonus to kill you!" He spat in his mask as he
pushed off the bulk head toward the tumbling phaser.

SBFREEDOM-RPG: (5-0730) SFI DD - Michael Weston
From: almuir62 at gmail.com (Al Muir)
Date: Mon, 4 May 2026 11:48:58 -0700

Mission: Homecoming

Day: 5

Stardate: 2446.10.20

(Planet Auberjonois - Main Compound - Solice Habitat- SFI DD - Michael
Weston - 0730)

The previous evening had been somewhat surreal to Michael. He watched as
Quinna reconnected with her parents, as they told the others how Quinna was
as a child, well a toddler anyway. Then she was connecting with her new
siblings.

It had been intriguing to watch her with them. He could see bits of her in
each of them, but she was mostly like Martin, intelligent, quick to pick
things up, and dedicated to his role. But she also had a smattering of
Bryce, the ten year old, whose curiosity often got him into more trouble
than not.

They talked into the small hours of the night leaving Michael to his own
thoughts. Thoughts of this place they had been dropped off on. He marveled
at that fact that they had been marooned on a planet that was perfect for
supporting life, that had no indigenous dominant sentient life. At least
none that they had come across in twenty-five years.

Michael had been watching Quinna sleep and listening to the sounds of the
others breathing for the last hour. He came to the realization that he
needed to get active. He stood up and pulled on his clothes. Checking to
make sure everyone was still asleep he slipped out the front door.

(Planet Auberjonois - Main Compound - SFI DD - Michael Weston - 0735)

Michael was not surprised to find that people were already moving
throughout the compound. Not many, but they all seemed to have a specific
job to do. He had to smile. Nothing kept people calm than sticking with a
routine. Whoever was running this colony was smart.

His first move was to go to the edge of the compound. He could feel the
energy raise the hairs on his arms as he approached. There was a minor
shimmer of displaced light showing the limit of the compound's area.
Instinctively he reached out to feel the energy with his fingertips. It
almost tickled his nerve endings.

“I wouldn’t do that,” a voice behind him warned.

Michael wheeled to see a middle aged man walking towards him. “Wouldn’t do
what?”

“Touch the force field,” the man said. He was wearing a set of overalls
and a light jacket.

Michael chuckled, “I really hadn’t planned on touching. I was just curious
about it. It doesn’t feel like a typical security field.”

“That’s because it’s not,” the man said as he stood next to Michael. He
was a few inches shorter and about twenty pounds heavier, but he still
looked in pretty good physical shape. He held out his hand. “I’m Joe
Sparks. Everyone calls me Sparky.”

Michael took the man’s hand and shook it, “Michael Weston.”

“This is a one of a kind security field,” Sparky went on. “It was designed
by Rachel Solice. Once we discovered we had a need she put her skills as a
holotechnician to good work. She reconfigured the energy grids from
replicators modified the output of holoemitters to create an energy wall
capable of withstanding about 6 tons of pressure psi.”

Michael looked from Sparky back to the field with a look that showed he was
impressed. “That’s amazing.”

Sparky smiled, “Yeah, but it’s why you don’t want to test it with your
hand. The first time I touched it I spent several days in the infirmary,
and Doc Solice as he found new ways to grow my skin back.”

Michael nodded in appreciation of the story. He was sure this place held
many more. “I can only imagine why you needed to create the field.”

Sparky nodded and gazed out past the field, “This place looks pretty
peaceful, but the indigenous life here can be quite… predatory.”

Michael finally came round to the topic he’d been thinking about all
morning, “So you’ve had no sign of any… dominant intelligent life on this
planet.”

“Nope,” Sparky said absent mindedly, “and not for lack of looking. If
there are, they’ve kept themselves hidden. Not even any archaeological
evidence. Not that I would know archeological evidence from a rock. That’s
Bandi’s job. I’m just a gear head engineer.”

“I’ll need to talk to Bandi at some point,” Michael said.

“Good luck,” Sparky said, “she’s usually out in the field looking for some
sign of a civilization. I don’t know when she leaves or even when she
comes back. I used to worry about her being on her own all the time, but
now she has an apprentice.”

Michael turned and started to head back to the center of the village,
“Thanks for the talk, Sparky.”

“My pleasure, Michael,” Sparky replied. “Great to meet you. Looking forward
to getting of this rock.”

Michael just wandered, nodding to others as he got the lay of the land.
Suddenly he heard Raven’s voice over his comm badge.

=^=Lieutenant Green to Commander Solice, what is the status on the surface
Ma'am.=^=

He felt guilty that he hadn’t checked in with the ship, but he also did not
know if they were awake.

“Hey Lieutenant,” he responded, “This is Director Weston. All is good
here. We had an… interesting evening and night’s sleep. The commander is
still asleep. You can beam down at your earliest convenience. Please don’t
try to beam through the force field.”

He didn’t know how that might affect their field, or what it might do to
her molecules.

Day: 5

Stardate: 2446.10.20

(Planet Auberjonois - Solice Residence -- XO Commander Solice, Holographic
Programmer Lt. Rachel Solice -- 0745)

Quinna sat at the table of the modest home. Normally Quinna could not
sleep but that night, she did. She awoke to an empty bed. That felt a bit
wrong. She got out of bed. She would kill for some coffee right now.

Rachel was already in the kitchen. “You certainly can sleep through
anything, you always did.”

“Well that confirms it. Dad was drugging me. I have not slept that hard
since I was 7 on out last vacation. Please tell me you all found a great
coffee on this planet.”

“Of course. My Dear.” Rachel kissed Quinna head and set down a cup.”

“Thanks,Mom.” Quinna said, it was kind of weird. She took a drink and it
was even weirder.

Rachel pointed next to the door, “Look what showed up last night.” Rachel
said pointing to the black bag next to the door.

“Great,” Quinna said as she got up to get it. She started to go though it
and came back with a PADD.

“You are your father’s daughter.” Rachel said as she watched her daughter.

“Dad always had one. I spent so much time in Sickbay after Preston was
born, Medicine was second Nature to me. I became a doctor, joined
Startfleet against Grandma’s wishes of course.” they both laughed at
that. “But here is what is waiting back home.” Quinna showed her PADD
with a picture if of Preston, his wife and kids.

Rachel had a tear drop. “I want to hold them,” Rached reached for her
drink.

“You will, Preston is going to freak. I made sure he remembered you
both.” Quinna said.

Rachel grabbed quinna’s hand and held it as tight as she could.

After 20 minutes, Racel went to tend to some duties when Quinna got us and
started wo look for Michael. She found him quickly. Something about him
in the morning light made her stop and admire his physique. She slowly
walked over and kissed the back of his neck. “You stole my commbadge.”

(Reply Weston)

“Did you hear from Green?” Quinna asked.

(Reply Weston)

“Ask my dad about letting down the shield” Quinna said.

Michael heard a familiar footstep coming up from behind him. He felt the
press of Quinna’s lips to the back of his neck and smiled.

“I hope that’s Quinna,” he said whimsically, “otherwise this might get
awkward.” He turned around and pulled her into a hug. “What are you doing
out here?”

“You stole my commbadge,” she said.

He nodded, “You needed your rest and I didn’t want any frivolous message
waking you.”

“Did you hear from Green?” Quinna asked.

He smiled thinking about his phrase of frivolous message and said, “I have.
She wanted a check in. I guess she was concerned. She should be down any
time now.”

“Ask my dad about letting down the shield,” Quinna said.

“Your dad pulls a lot of weight?” he asked, teasing. “Maybe I should ask
your mother. Apparently these shields are her design.”

(reply Quinna)

Suddenly a raucous began at the perimeter of the force field. The pair
turned and moved towards it. As they got closer he could hear Green’s
voice.

“They should be expecting me.”

A pair of sentries had appeared holding what looked like spears. “We don’t
know who you are lady,” one said.

“And we don’t really care,” the other added. “And we ain’t expecting
anyone.”

Michael stepped forward, “I’m sorry gentlemen, but I was expecting Lt.
Green. She’s with us.” Stepped closer tho the first sentry and whispered,
“She’s not good at communicating with others.” He stepped back with a wink.

Casem Leal suddenly appeared, “It’s okay Josh, go ahead and let her in.”

“Yes ma’am,” Josh replied. He tapped a button on his belt and the force
field dissipated. Once the young girl stepped across the line he tapped the
button again and the shield went back up.

“Welcome to Planet Auberjonois, Lt. Green,” Michael said, “let me introduce
you to the lady in charge round here, Commander Casem Leal.”

“Lieutenant,” Casem said, looking at the red haired woman.

(reply Green)

Casem looked at the other two and smiled, “I hope you had a chance to catch
up, Quinna. Perhaps we should move to my office so we can discuss your
plans, and ours,”

Michael met her at the force field.  When she was given safe passage she entered  and the force field closed up behind her.  Her first impression of Cassen Leal is that she needed to lighten up but she understood why Cassen had to be like that.  Raven's chosen form led to believe she was  young and inexperienced.  The reality is that she is way older than she looks.  She filed her opinion of Cassen for later.  She turned to Cassen.
"That is a good idea Ma'am.  Lead the way."
Raven was determined to prove her worth to the mission.  The rude welcome she received at the force field entrance was filed away for later too.  She thought about teaching them a lesson is respect but will come up with something later.  She had to get up to speed on the mission.

SBFREEDOM-RPG: (5-0815) Commander Casem Leal, Commander Quinna Solice, Michael Weston and Captain Alexis Swan
From: almuir62 at gmail.com (Al Muir)
Date: Wed, 20 May 2026 16:44:19 -0700

Mission: Homecoming

Day: 5

Stardate: 2446.10.20

(Planet Auberjonois-Main Compound- Commander Casem Leal, Commander Quinna
Solice, Michael Weston and Captain Alexis Swan - 0815)

Casem led the group to the building that housed her office. She opened the
door and stepped inside. As she headed to her desk she turned her.

“Close the door once you’re inside. An open door round here is an
invitation for just about anyone to walk in on us. I’m pretty sure the
conversation you need to have should be uninterrupted.”

Michael nodded and replied, “Indeed.”

He closed the door and followed the others to the desk. It was more of a
table than a desk, made from the natural wood of the planet. There was a
slight yellow tint to the wood, making it look a bit unnatural. It didn’t
have any drawers, or the drawers, per se, were simple small boxes under the
table. Papers were stack in neat piles on the top.

Leal sat down in her chair and motioned to the two seats across from.
Michael had found a third chair, much smaller than the other two, and
brought it over. He sat down there as the two women sat in the chairs
offered by the commander.

Casem smiled at Quinna. She still found it hard to believe that little
Quinna was so grown up. She guessed that the universe had still moved
forward… and on.

“How was your evening with your family?” Casem asked.

“It was eye opening. Life went on despite the circumstances.” Quinna said
as she adjusted her seated positon. “I am curious as to what happened.”
Quinna came out and said it. “I feel like I have a right know.”

Casem leaned forward and put her hands on her desk. “I might agree with
that, but unfortunately I’m not sure what I can tell you.”

Standing, she came around the desk. “We entered the wormhole, as planned.
After that there isn’t much to say. The entire ship was rendered
unconscious. When we came too, we were here. What was even stranger than
that, we had just the right amount of equipment to ensure our survival.
And that is what we had done.”

“But what was the mission in the first place. The mission where we had to
be abandoned? Where I was abandoned?” that came it a little more personal
than Quinna intended but at this point, she felt it was all fair game.

Casem sat back in her seat again, this time more contemplative, and sighed.
“Please remember that our mission was only supposed to take four to six
weeks. There was no way for us to know that … this could happen. I am
sorry for the lost time with your parents. Believe me when I say that we
all lost something.”

“I have no doubt, but what was the mission.” Quinna said.

Casem shifted in her chair uncomfortably, “Well… the problem is that I
really can’t say. The mission was categorized as top secret. Most of the
crew really didn’t even know what we were doing…”

Alexis walked into the door, “Genesis, alright, it was Project Genesis.”
She blurted it out.

Casem jumped out of her seat, have in surprise and half in the horror of
the admission. “Alexis! What are you doing. I thought you wanted to not
talk about this?”p

Alexis covered her mouth with both of her hands. Quinna jumped out of her
seat. “What, the… What?” Quinna said.

“You have to know,” Alexis said. “Our ship is back. WE can go home and”,
looking at Casem, she added, “Didn’t you tell me that it may not happen
again.” Alexis ranted

Casem blinked. She hadn’t realized if her words had reached Alexis.
Suddenly she smiled, “Yes, yes I did.”

“Wait a minute,” Michael interjected, “you mean that the Auberjonois was
the ship assigned that mission. There were two other ships on the list when
I researched the mission. Of course, I should have put together. But there
was also a report stating that the mission had been scrubbed. It was
deemed… “ he had to search his memory for the right phrase, “unreliable and
not worth the risk.”

“That was the label that Starfleet put on it as the research had become
compromised,” Casem said, pacing the floor. “The files were put in the dead
research folder and the council accelerated the timeline for inception. The
other ships were decoys, just in case.”

“So you were sent to the Gamma Quadrant to launch Project Genesis? Is this
planet project genesis?” Quinna thought not but decided to ask.

“No,” Alexis said. “The device was never used. Last we knew the device
was on the ship.”

“No, it’s not.” Quinna said.

“Yes it was.” Alexis replied.

“To be fair,” Michael said, “we really didn’t search the ship for any
device. We may be able to clear this up.”

He tapped his comm badge, “Weston to Auberjonois.”

=^=Ensign Adams here Director.=^=

“Ensign, I need you to do something for me,” he continued. “I need you to
run an internal scan of the ship.”

=^=Okayyyy, What am I looking for?=^=

He didn’t want to say to much. Wednesday was going to need as much
plausible deniability as possible at the end of this. “You’re looking for a
piece of equipment with an unusual energy signature.”

=^=Unusual, sir? That’s pretty broad.=^=

Michael sighed and said, “It would something outside the standard
Federation energy signatures for Starfleet vessel.”

=^=That may take a whole, sir.=^=

“We’ve got nothing but time, Wednesday,” he replied. “Let us know if and
when you find anything. Weston out,”

He turned and looked at the others.

Alexis sat, Quinna sat, and they waited.

Alexis jumped out of her seat. “I should go up there, I know exactly
where it’s at.”

Casem looked at Alexis, her eyes narrowed scrutinizing her. “Are you sure
that’s a good idea?”

Casem has watched her love regain some of her composure over the last
couple of days. Perhaps she was ready.

“If you’re going up there then I’m coming with you,” Casem said.

Quinna stood. She was conflicted. She wanted to go up but did not want to
leave earlier. “OK, I think we should slow down. Lets have Ensign
Wednesday see what she can find first.”

“Agreed,” said Michael.

“Agreed,” Leal added with a nod.

“It will be faster if we just go.” Alexis jumped.

Casem moved over to Alexis and put her hand lovingly on the cheek of the
red haired woman,

“Alexis, let’s give them the time,” Casem said, trying to sooth her. “We’ve
waited this long.”

played by me, while Jayc takes a needed break.

RPG:

Mission: Homecoming

Day: 5

Stardate: 2446.10.20

(USS Auberjonois-Deck 1 - Bridge - SFI/Ti - T’xen Toks and Ensign Wednesday
Adams - 0820)

Toks had already been on the way to the bridge when the red alert klaxon
sounded. For a Temporal Agent it was usually pretty hard to catch him by
surprise, but this had managed to… as the human phrase said… make him
almost jump out of his skin. Even for a Takkaran, that would have left a
mark.

The red alert had been canceled by the time he stepped off the turbolift.
“What in the universe was that about?”

“I’m sorry Mr. Toks,” Wednesday turned and looked at the Green man coming
onto the bridge. “It was an accident.”

Toks grinned, “They do happen, don’t they. So what’s been going this
morning?”

“Mr. Weston has checked in,” Wednesday reported. “All is well. I guess
that had an interesting night.”

“I would imagine so,” Toks replied.

He moved over to one of the science stations and sat down. It took him a
few attempts to open the stations controls. “Lord, I miss Marai,” he said
softly to himself. “Perhaps we should take a better look at this planet.”

Wednesday could hide the smile as she was

This futuristic being struggle with this old tangled system. Granted it was
even old to her, but only by about twenty years. Not the millennia for
Toks.

Suddenly his scans were interrupted by the call from the surface. Michael
Weston wanted them to look for some unusual energy signature on the ship.
He had an idea of what they were looking for, but was not absolutely
certain.

When the conversation ended Wednesday looked over at him and said, “Well
that was odd.”

Toks replied in a most Bulcanlike manner, “Indeed.”

He had already adjusted the sensors from the planet to internal shop’s
sensors. Carefully he began to sweep the ship for any power signature that
might seem anomalous.

Wednesday sat down at the science station next

To him and made some minor adjustments to her sensor readings and followed
his scans with her own. By the time they were done they had both come to
the same conclusion; there was nothing out of the ordinary on the ship. Not
even a sign of shielding or any blind spots.

“Whatever they’re looking for,” Toks said, “there’s no sign of it on the
sensors.”

“Agreed,” Wednesday nodded.

She went back to the command chair and opened a channel to the planet.

“Ensign Adams to away team, there’s no sign of anything out of the ordinary
on the ship sensors.”

Wednesday sat in the command chair examining the command controls. They
were fascinating. She could control almost all of the major functions of
the ship from that chair. At a very superficial level, of course.

Sitting upright in the chair, her feet did not quite touch the floor. She
could feel her small stature in such a big chair. At least for the
meantime. One day she might fill it as the captain of her own starship. As
she shifted her weight in the seat her hand accidentally hit a key and the
lights dimmed, a klaxon sounded and the bridge glowed in red.

“Oh damn,” she declared and moved hastily to shut the read alert down. When
everything returned to standard she looked around and giggled. Perhaps
she’s not ready for the big seat just yet.

She heard the doors to the turbolift open.
