Life on the Ranch suited him well enough when he was young, but as he grew older he began to want more from his life. He decided to join Starfleet. His Parents supported his decision.

Matthew studied civil engineering At the famed Texas A&M. He graduated the middle of his class.

Pre-Starfleet:

Matthew's family owns a large 6000 Acre rance in Van Horn Texas. Matthew was raised there and spent many nights under the stars. He and his parents got along well. Matthew participated in Sports at his local highschool and throughout his time at college. he won several awards for American Football.

Stardate 2407.01.07: Promoted to Lieutenant JG
Stardate 2407.01.07: Transfered to the USS Boudicca was promoted to Lt. SG and named CEO.
Stardate 2408.03.02 Matthew was injured during an away Mission aboard the Doomsday machine. He resigned his position of CEO and took a promotion to Lt. Commander. He is now working as an Advanced Theoretical Technologies Engineer aboard the USS Rosenante.

Medical:

Matthew has suffered his share of broken bones and childhood illnesses. Despite surviving the Federation Civil war with hardly a scratch, Matthew's Luck would eventually run out when the Boudicca encountered the Doomsday Machine which had been repaired and reactivated by the Orion Syndicate. Matthew led an away team aboard the device in an attept to shut it down and though successful, he was injured by one of the device's Security Robots. The radioactive plast caused massive neural damage to the nerves in Matthews legs and along his left arm. He was confined to a gravity chair for the better part of a year. Matthew spent a great deal of time studying his condition and working on an engineering solution to his problem. The solution that he came up with was a Neural Subspace Processor and Neuromuscular Nanowires. This experimental technology is comprised of a subspace capable microcomputer interfaced into the frontal lobe of his brain using the same neuroconnectors found in a Borg Cortical Array. The system allows him to send specific messages to one of nearly 1.75 million microprocessors embedded in his muscles which transmit neuroelectrical impulses to them by way of nanomolecular wires. Since it was the nerve tissue that was damaged and not the muscles, this effectively allows Matthew to function on a normal level despite his injury. It is possible that the processor is the reason that Matthew was not completely assimilated by the Borg Collective in 2414, since the nanoprobes were forced to first disassemble the unit before they could integrate themselves into his neural tissue.

Hobbies:

Matthew is athletic. He likes to participate in full contact sports. He enjoys western Holosims and being outdoors. Currently he most appreciates spending time with his new wife.

Skills:

Trained in Civil and Ship Engineering. Matthew is an excellent officer and gentleman. He is good at self defense and and excellent Horseman. He is skilled at camping and survival.

Other:

Matthew recently violated the Prime Directive on Iradon, when he brought Arania, a native of that planet into his current universe so that he could marry her. They are happily married and Arania is stationed aboard the USS Boudicca along with her husband
