PO3 Carol Linnis and her helpers undertaking their duties. A crewman whose name Keung couldn’t recall was stock checking the rack of phaser rifles and acknowledged Keung as he came in. Keung noticed Carol was over by the fire range instructing four crew
members on how to fire automatic weapons.

"Now remember...relax...aim...then fire." She stepped back and watched the crewmen try hitting the targets again. This time their percentage was markedly higher. "Excellent, much better than before. This ends your practice for today...unless
you wish to practice a bit more, otherwise you’re dismissed."

Lee waited until her instructions were given and then the participants started loosing off their weapons.

Keung sat on the edge of the desk. "I'm re-assigning you to other duties. As of now, you no longer have the responsibility for running the Armoury. You are now the Assistant Security Officer

"Understood. Who is my new replacement?"

"The Armoury Officer will be PO1 Pevn Shasl." explained Keung. "He should be here in about ten minutes. When he arrives, I would like you to give him the tour of the place."

I'll be glad to do that."

PO1 Pevn Shasl entered the security office. "Reporting as ordered Lieutenant."

"Welcome Shasi...this is Carol Linnis , Acting Assistant Chief Security Officer." Lt Lee said.

Carol stood up and shook the Ensign's hand firmly. "Welcome to the new job

"Thank you ." Shasi replied,

"Carol will give you a tour of the place. If you have any questions don't hesitate to ask." Keung finished.

"If you'll come with me Pevin. “Carol said as she left the office with her charge in tow.

Pevin nodded acknowledgement to Lt Lee and turned to Carol. He was determined to keep an open mind about everything that would come his way, he put his full attention on his briefing with Carol.

"Lieutenant Lee has placed you in charge of the Armoury." Now the two were standing in front of the door. She punched in her access code and the door opened. They stepped inside and Carol gave Pevin a moment to take in the vast area and
array of different weapons displayed before them. Woah. Now that's a lot of automatic weaponry! He thought. But why so many of what would seem to be projectile weapons? Personally, Pevin preferred energy weapons as they tend to not leave a mess behind.

"The access code changes every shift, so you'll have to stay alert to any problems concerning the coding cycle. (pauses) You will also notice that there are sensors in several areas to keep the area secure. Any unauthorized access will
cause a lock down so the perpetrator can't leave until a security detail can ascertain who and why they gained access in the first place."

"Well… nothing new here, looks like everything's by-the-book," He noted. "Understood Sir."

{Five minutes later}

"This is our firing range." There were two officers currently using the facilities. The sound was boisterous. "Anyone who wishes to use a weapon on the range needs approval from you and you both has to sign out the weapon and return it
to the Armoury when finished."

” Very good, " he acknowledged. "I do have a question however, what about away teams, are they treated differently?"

"Absolutely not." Carol smile smiled. This man certainly seemed interested and anxious to do the best job he could with the responsibility given to him. “Everyone must sign out the weapon. This concludes the tour."
